  1. I completely agree. I have been skeptical of Milroe since before the season started. There is a 5 star (Ty Simpson) sitting on the bench who I hoped would start. He admittedly came from a small HS in Tennessee which does make the already HUGE and difficult transition from high school to the University of Alabama ever more difficult. I hope that Simpson does not hit the portal. They even have another 5 star from California (Justin Sayin) who is already working out with the team. After Hurts, Tua, Mac, and Bryce, it was very tough from day one to not be skeptical of Milroe. Simon, this was Milroe's third season at Alabama. Hurts came in and started immediately and was more advanced mentaly than Milroe is today. Tua came in polished and ready. Mac (say what you want about him) sat 2 years. In his third year he went undefeated against an all SEC schedule and won a title. (OK, he had perhaps the best offense of all time but still). Bryce won the Heissman after sitting behind Mac. Hurts was a 2nd round pick, the rest were 1st rounders. Btw it should be noted that the 2023 Alabama defense was clearly superior to the defenses of the afforementioned teams, thus making life easier for Milroe. If Milroe declares for the draft (which sadly he says that he will not), in what round would he be drafted in this qb driven NFL? 3rd? 4th? 5th? You tell me. Could he have some success on a team stacked with receivers like the Dolphins? Maybe, but he is not especially accurate so I'm not at all certain. Again, I offer no excuses for this game. Michigan made a couple of serious mistakes. They overcame them and beat us (something that almost never occurs with Saban teams). My congrats go out to Michigan, their fans, and yes, Coach Harbaugh. I hope that they win the title.
  2. Congrats to all Michigan fans. No excuses offered, Alabama was simply outplayed and frankly; the score didn't really reflect the game. Michigan was the clear winner. I think that Saban did well to lead the team this far given the somewhat shaky QB situation. Once again, The Crimson Tide looks very good going ito 2024. It will be very interesting to see how the QB situation is handled. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!
  3. Well, I am glad that I did post a disclaimer LOL. No excuses here, Alabama was outplayed. Our QB was no match for Michigan's very stout defense. Congrats to both the Wolverines and their fans.
  4. First and foremost, Happy New Year to all of you to include your families and loved ones! Now, two disclaimers: 1) As most of you know I am an Alabama Fan, so my opinion on that game will be surely tainted and biased. 2) If I could accurately predict college and NFL football games I would be rich. I had a decent career, but I would have preferred to be sitting around watching football games and making millions of dollars. OK...... Alabama/Michigan: Tbh, I am not 100% sold on Jaylen Milroe. This is unfamiliar footing after years of having Hurts, Tua, Mac, and Bryce play this position. Milroe has a very strong arm and resembles Lamar Jackson on running plays. Yeah, he really does. The kid is huge, strong as a bull, and has sprinter speed. As a passer he is too indecisive. It's his first year as a starter but his third year in Tuscaloosa. Still, he entered the season with much to learn. Some of this can be blamed on Bill O'Brien, who as the Bama OC told him to change positions. Despite all of this, the kid has really improved. If he has room to run he will score tds, of this I am sure. He obviously has very good weapons, to include WR Jermaine Burton (a player to watch for the Bills) and a relativelty unknown explosive RB Jam Miller. The OL is gigantic and very much improved since the beginning of the season. Make no mistake, the offense is strong. Are they as good as they were for the last several years? Nope. Otoh, the defense is superb. They lost the great Will Anderson and the team is not only better defensively, they are better and deeper at LB. The DL is very stout and Justin Eboigebe is an excellent pass rusher. The LBs are 7 or 8 deep and great. The secondary is amazing. Terrion Arnold is a great corner and freshman safety Caleb Downs is nothing short of sensational. This kid can cover, play the run, and blitz. A future superstar. Another deep and talented unit. From what I have read, I don't know if Michigan has the offensive speed to challenge the Bama defense. Can they overpower Bama? Maybe, but Saban would seem to be ready for this type of old school football. In a low scoring game, I am looking at Alabama 24 - Michigan 16 Washington/Texas: Is this game a trap? It sure loks like one to me. Texas is a big, strong team with very good lines on both sides and perhaps the most underrated QB (Quinn Ewers) in the NCAA. I mean, he is keeping the much heralded Arch Manning on the bench this year and next. I don't see how these two teams even belong on the same field. In a romp, I am thinking Texas 40 - Washington 13. Again, this is JMO, NOT an all knowing proclamation. Opinions?
  5. If we walk together, little children We don't ever have to worry Through this world of trouble We gotta love one another Let us take our fellow man by the hand Try to help him to understand We can all be together, forever and ever When we make it to the promised land
  6. I don't quite agree with you but I do understand and respect your opinion.
  7. I can't understand how anyone could believe that Washington is better than Georgia. The two teams are not even close imo. If the two teams were playing on 1/1/24 play I would happily give 14 points.
  8. At least it was a close game. A playoff game for FSU would have been equally pointless.
  9. I spent a little time on the mountain I spent a little time on the hill Heard some say: Better run away Others say you better stand still Now I don't know, but I been told It's hard to run with the weight of gold Other hand I have heard it said It's just as hard with the weight of lead
  10. Well my mind is goin' through them changes I think I'm goin' out of my mind Every time you see me goin' some where I think I could commit a crime know She had me runnin' She had me cryin' She had me runnin' She had me had me had me cryin'
  11. Long distance runner, what you standin there for? Get up, get out, get out of the door You're playin cold music on the barroom floor Drowned in your laughter and dead to the core There's a dragon with matches that's loose on the town Takes a whole pail of water just to cool him down Fire! Fire on the mountain! Fire! Fire on the mountain! Fire! Fire on the mountain! Fire! Fire on the mountain!
  12. I get it but imo it is hard for some fans to seperate the two issues. I know that it is for me. As far as on field play, I thought that Miller was a bit old to get a huge contract but that doesn't make me hate him, or stupid.
  13. Good idea. Some fans are so stupid that they dislike the fact that Miller was strangling his baby momma. Other idiots don't believe in choking their own wives/girlfriends. I can't say that I blame you for becoming so indignant.
  14. Well, I ain't no saint and you sure as hell ain't no savior Every other Christmas I would practice good behavior That was then, this is now, don't ask me to be mister clean Baby, I don't know how Ring my phone 'bout ten more times, we will see, Find that broke down line and let it be Your wasted words will never be heard, go on home baby and watch it on TV Weekday soap-box specialty, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout now By the way, this song's for you, sincerely, me
  15. May God rest the souls of the deceased and provide solace for their friends and loved ones.
  16. If all you got to live for is what you left behind Take yourself a powder charge and seal that silver mine Lost my boots in transit, babe, a pile of smoking leather I nailed a retread to my feet and prayed for better weather
  17. Like I said, you should do as you choose. Two out of three seems like bad odds to me but whatever. My thing is that you never know. I went to the Alabama/Arkansas game this year at Bryant Denny Stadium. There was a group of Arkansas fans sitting near me. I expected them to get their asses kicked but they were left alone for the entire game. That said, I'm honestly not sure how this would have went down if they would have been wearing shirts of certain other teams.
  18. The huge inflated pumpkin was being batted around the stadium as you can surely recall. Security got it and the fans were freaaking out to the point that they tossed it back in the stands. When the pumpkin lost air people were taking wild punches at it. I saw one fan miss and his punch landed on another fan and knocked him on his ass. One young pretty girl was walking up the steps toward the bathrooms/concessions. Drunks were shouting obsceeties at her to the point where she burst out in tears. It was a Monday Night Game and it was unseasonably warm. People had been drinking since noon. I have seen 1000x my share of violence in my life and i'm saying that that stadium was very dangerous that night. I agree. Some fans are drunk to the point of being delusional. The person that you described was sitting there with 70,000 opposing fans, most of them frustrated by decades of inept management. If he kept it up he could have been in danger.
  19. This is fantastic news for the Bills. Like him or not, Waddle is a great player. He would be the #1 receiver on just about any team in the NFL
  20. Okay, so your heart is broken You sit around mopin' Cryin' and cryin' You say you're even thinkin' about dyin' Well, before you do anything rash, dig this Everybody plays the fool, sometime There's no exception to the rule Listen, baby, it may be factual, may be cruel I ain't lyin', everybody plays the fool
  21. I am going to respectfully disagree. It could NOT have happened to me. You know why? In a perfect world, a fan can put on a jersey, go to the stadium of an opposing team, and be treated with courtesy and respect. Sometimes this may happen too but many times alcohol takes over and opposing fans are beat up, have objects thrown at them, and or are soaked by liquids (usually beer) spilled on them. Please do not look at this post as an attempt at telling people what to do or not do. If it means that much to a fan fly our colors at an opposing stadium you should go for it. After all, you paid for your ticket. Most of you are probably too young to remember the "Pumpkin Game" (Bills /Jets) at the Meadowlands. I was there in "plain clothes" lol. I saw fans spit on, beaten, and bloodied. I saw women harassed and even groped. There were virtually no women in the stadium after halftime. Someone started a fire on an end zone seat and the extinguisher security had didn't work, so a drunken fan went over and urinated on it. Then, the famous (at the time) "Morganna" took off her clothes and streaked the field. At one point the players stopped playing and were watching the fights in the stands. It was insane. The stadium was SO empty at halftime that we had seats on the 50 yard line in the first row. The "Pumpkin Game" is actually on Wikipedia. Once at a Bills game I was hit with various objects which were being hurled at an obnoxious Redskin Fan sitting near us (in a Skins jersey of course). I asked him to stop acting out and he gave me the old "I bought my ticket and have my rights," etc. When I told the Bills Fans that I was being hit, they kindly stopped throwing things at this drunken idiot. Again, fans should dress as they please at opposing stadiums, and should be able to do so risk free. That said, I'll pass. Jmo.
  22. Dear old Daddy, rest his soul Left my Mom a heavy load She tried so very hard to fill his shoes Workin' hours without rest Wanted me to have the best She tried to raise me right but I refused And I turned twenty-one in prison doin' life without parole No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried
  23. In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Through the desert of truth To the river so deep We all end in the ocean We all start in the streams We're all carried along By the river of dreams In the middle of the night
