Unless it’s for Chris Jones, Beane is better off with 1 year deals for vets who didn’t get what they were looking for in free agency plus young guys in the draft.

And it’s not like drafting Rousseau, Epenesa, or Basham in the late 1st and 2nd rounds has helped us get over the hump. With this WR class, I think the way to go is trade back from 28 (maybe with a team that likes Penix or Nix) and get more bites at the apple in the top 100 picks. In a WR and OL rich draft, it’d be nice to draft 2 each by the end of the 5th round.

Loved the pop and downhill nature Dorian Williams brought to the defense when he played. I also think lightbulb goes on for Elam. He’s still a pup.

Josh restructure most likely handles any free agents we sign before the draft unless we get involved in the Chris Jones sweepstakes. He’s the only big ticket free agent I could see Beane going after. Tre’s $10m cap space most likely handles the $3m it will take to sign the draft picks plus any post draft free agents.

I’m liking Roman Wilson in the 2nd round. Dude is explosive and probably would’ve had much bigger numbers in a wide open offense like most of the other top WR’s played in.

Not much left to do other than restructure Josh and potentially Von’s $7m roster bonus. And Beane clearly likes to wait to do those things until he needs them to sign someone. Don’t have to be cap compliant until Wednesday and tampering period starts Monday. Beane has become a master of manipulating agents, players and fans that he has no cap space but he usually finds it for the players he wants.

Kind of humorous how Beane refuses to show Bills have any cap space by waiting a week to convert the $7m roster bonus.

They probably sign Fatukasi or Jones before free agency, bring back Ty Johnson, then sign a WR like Bourne and a starting caliber safety in free agency then wait to see who they draft before dipping back into free agency

Maybe this puts some pressure on daquan Jones to make a decision, but it’s gotta be hard to convince a guy who played for over $10m per year the last 2 seasons to take a deal in the $3-4m range which I guess is what Beane wound want him for. I’d be surprised if we don’t draft a 1 tech this year also.

Between von gifting Beane $14m in cap space and the unexpected extra $13m in cap space, our whole off-season outlook has changed.

I’m siding with over the cap here over spotrac. Not sure how a guy who had 1 tackle all season has any likely to be earned incentives.

Depending on how many years they’re amortizing the $7m, that could be a $14m cap savings in 2024. We could already be zero over the cap with another $10m coming from Tre on June 1.

Hynes is still there though. So probably closer to $15m over right now. And if Beane is cutting Poyer and Morse, gotta think Tre and Von don’t survive.

Agreed. I assume we’ll hear about Morse’s $8.5m this year being restructured into the future.

Would love Evans. He’s a legit #1 WR. Only way it would make sense though is if somebody gives us a 1st rounder or high 2nd rounder for Diggs in the next 10 days.
