Brown and Samuel were both 1st round talents, are still in their primes, and have put up decent numbers with QB’s half as good as Josh.

Beane has done a crazy amount of work the last 7 days getting the cap in order and filling a lot of roster spots. Phase 1 was getting cap in order. Phase 2 was re-building the roster depth. Phase 3 now dipping tie into free agency and seeing if we can land a WR still available. Same with safety and d-line. Some intriguing options still out there. Will also be interesting what Chargers do to get under the cap. We are in way better shape than I thought we’d be in 7 days ago.

Jones is solid but those numbers could be skewed by how bad his backups were. When Phillips played, he didn’t even try to hold the point of attack. Just tried to get in the backfield without any regard for the run game.

Just get rid of comp picks. If NFL can’t even correctly compute their own formulas, it’s beyond time to eliminate it. Same with the minority coach comp picks. It’s a noble intention but find a better way to incentivize it or penalize a lack of diversity.

My guess is Knox reworked deal is very similar to Hunter Henry’s 3 year $27m deal with $15 guaranteed. He’s trading his bigger deal for more guaranteed money. Bills want him on team next couple of years but at a lower number.

Kudus to the Steelers. This is a completely one-sided deal. Even if Pickett wins the job, there are always QB injuries and a desperate win now team would probably unload a 2nd rounder for that contract if a Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Purdue, Hurts goes down. Heck they could probably flip him for a 3rd rounder on the 2nd day of the draft once the 1st round QB’s are taken.

I understand that but Pittsburgh has zero skin in the game. What happens if a QB they didn’t think would be there lasts until their pick? Or let’s say Pickett looks decent in training camp. Or Pittsburgh starts 0-2 with Wilson starting. Feels like Wilson is trying too hard to show people he still wants to play. Even $5m from Pittsburgh shows some commitment towards Wilson.

If Pickett is even close to him in training camp, they’ll go with Pickett since he’s under contract for at least 2 more years. To the Steelers that contract is the equivalent of training camp fodder.

Weird. I get that Denver is on the hook for $39m, but if I’m Wilson I’d want the Steelers to commit more to me than the vet minimum. Steelers can move on or cut him if he struggles at all without thinking twice.

Yes, if McDermott keeps his rotation of mediocre on the D-Line. Sign a difference maker like Armstead who can play End on rush downs and DT on pass downs. Armstead, Oliver, Sweat at pick 60, Rousseau on 1st/2nd down. Von, Oliver, armstead, Rousseau on pass downs. Use draft picks and vet minimum guys for depth like other teams do and roll the dice on those 5 guys on the D Line.

Not sure how much Armstead has left, but he has been a difference making player his whole career. I don’t think he’s a traditional 1 Tech, but him and Oliver would be a nice duo on passing downs.

If by restructure, they mean pay-cut then yes I’m all for a Knox re-structure.

Better hit on some studs in the draft if this is the plan. 16 guys and Ty Johnson might be the biggest difference maker on that list.
