  1. The New Zealand All Blacks are the two-time defending world cup champions. (RWC 2011 and 2015) Apart from them, there's been nothing by suffering Go you mighty All Blacks!
  2. What a stupid rant. As far as I'm concerned, there are far too many former players/coaches in the media booth. Sure they may have some "inside knowledge" about the game, but many of them are just stupid jocks.
  3. we're always amazed on how often people will tell us how much they love our American accents down here. (however a lot of people think I'm a Canadian.) That being said, I love the Kiwi accent, but have always had a thing for ladies with a Scottish (or sometimes Irish) accent. Just love it. My favourite though, would be a beautiful native Tahitian with that French accent of theirs.
  4. Nice! Where are you heading to? I just returned from a 7-day motorbike trip around the South Island. Amazing.
  5. Yeah, there were a few times when the camera showed that the crowd was filled with douches like him. Scary.
  6. One last thing... I can't stand it when the broadcast shifts to (ex NFL referee) Mike Carey, for his "expert" opinions when penalties are called. Just get on with the friggin' game!
  7. My wife actually got to meet Camilla this weekend. (Charles and Camilla are touring New Zealand right now.) She said she was a totally nice and friendly person. By the way... Charles is holding a Tuatara in the photo.
  8. Jerry has been very frustrating to watch this season. Sure, he usually has a couple great plays each game, but he also usually seems to have a lot of plays where he over-pursues and misses tackles in addition to STUPID STUPID penalties. That late hit on Tanny had me screaming at the TV yesterday.
  9. Of course the Bills should resign Woods! Well, unless he's asking a fortune. For those calling him a "dime a dozen" player, and implying that he's easily expendable... you're either really young, or have a very poor short term memory. Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, Donald Jones, David Nelson, TJ Graham, James Hardy, Brad Smith yada yada yada, the list goes on and on and on. THOSE guys were easily replaced and were a dime a dozen. Robert Woods is a baller and has a place on my team any day every day.
  10. meh. I like the red jersey, but the red pants and red socks and shoes are too much. Plus, it's weird seeing that photo of TT in the red uni on a red field in front of fans all wearing red. RED! What do the Jests ones look like?
  11. Woo hoo!! New Zealand does it again! 2 time world rugby champions. NZ All Blacks 34 Australia 17 Great game, great tournament.
  12. Who needs a shotgun, when you can just use a rugby ball? http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/73479572/stray-ball-takes-down-drone
  13. Well, the final is tomorrow morning. (NZ time) It should be a battle for the ages. Australia vs New Zealand. Go the All Blacks!!!
  14. I wasn't really directing that comment at you, Barbarian, just towards some of the other posters who are saying that rugby is softer, just because they're NFL fans.
  15. Ouch, that's gotta be one sad hotel tonight. Are there a lot of Kiwis around? Now, those rugby fans sure know how to have a great time. Go the All Blacks!
  16. First of all, I feel that I should have a disclaimer... I thoroughly enjoy watching NZ and international rugby, (American rugby is light years behind.) but NFL Football is far and away my favorite sport. That being said, there are a couple ways to look at this argument, regarding NFL vs Rugby Union toughness. I believe that the hits in the NFL are so powerful and violent are BECAUSE they are wearing pads and not the other way around. Same goes for concussions. A couple years ago, when concussions were the big topic, I heard people agrue that a sure way to reduce the number of concussions would be to actually get rid of helmets completlely. This isn't something that I endorse, but I think it holds a lot of merit. The level of "violence" increases with the level of protection. Also, if you have never truly watched at least a couple games of international rugby, you really shouldn't talk. I thought Chris Hogan played lacrosse, not rugby.Did he play both sports?
  17. New Zealand defeats South Africa in a hard-fought, nail biter of a match to get to the finals. They will face the winner of tomorrows Austailia vs Argentine match. Let go, the All Blacks! Anyone else following the action?
  18. I just thought of a story that I thought I'd share with you. I'm sure more than a couple of you rolled your eyes, when I said that I think rugby players are "tougher" than American Football player. If you want a little proof, read this little story about Wayne "Buck" Shelford, who played for New Zealand in the 80's. The man is a legend. http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/10584457/Five-Kiwi-moments-of-playing-on-while-injured
  19. Living in New Zealand, I hear a lot of Kiwi's compare "American football" or "Gridiron" to Rugby. They are two completely different games. "Gridiron" is a lot more violent (because of the pads and helmets) but I think rugby players are generally a lot tougher. That being said, go All Blacks! (We're in the Rugby World Cup semi finals this weekend.)
  20. Be sure to cheer for the mighty All Blacks during the Rugby World Cup, that's also taking place in England.
  21. Another strange cloud formation in China. Weird http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/asia/73140078/floating-city-appears-in-clouds-over-china
