  1. Yeah, my idiot sister-in-law came out to visit us last year, with my two nephews. (Twins aged 12.) Here they are, on a trip of a lifetime to the other side of the world, and her mom insists that they do at least 2 hours of homework each day. So, instead of taking in the scenery and culture of a foreign country, they had to sit inside and work on their maths skills. (While they could've been outside in the kayaks with me.) The most frustrating thing about is that it was all for show. She just wanted to show my wife and I just how "special" her little angels were. For example, she would go into the dining room where her boys were studying and ask them a long series of detailed questions and then instructions. The thing is... it was so obvious by the volume and tone of her voice, that she was only going in there, so everyone in the rest of the house could hear every her be a "special" parent. It was all for show. Those were the two longest weeks of my life. (She scolded me in my own house, because I was using the term "fart" in front of the kids!)
  2. Maybe I should've said anything. We had a rumble come through a couple hours ago... http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/77776204/earthquake-felt-in-marlborough
  3. Bad Things man... it's gotta be Bruce
  4. It's not moving. That's the thing... it's way overdue. Although NZ has experienced many quakes in recent history, the Alpine Fault hasn't ruptured since the 1700's. They predict over a 30% chance of it rupturing during the next 50 years which would produce an earthquake over 8.0 I've heard scientists say that it has between 8 and 12 metres of overdue horizontal movement expected.
  5. I've never seen a player totally quit on his team/fans as badly as Mario did. I hope Whaley and the coaches didn't consider for a moment to bring him back. A teammate like that is nothing but a cancer. That said... he's probably going to be a beast whenever we face him. (Does anyone remember is he stepped up his effort when he faced Houston?)
  6. 2.3? That's nothing. Speaking of... check out this article that just came out a couple hours ago, about the fault line close to me. (Very close to me.) http://www.stuff.co.nz/science/77647999/alpine-fault-moves-more-than-any-other-known-land-fault-in-the-world
  7. You wonder if "they" will? You just did, yourself.
  8. What a shame. It was such a coup for the Bills to land him in free agency. He was such a stud his first few years here. Last year was a big embarrassment and he should be ashamed of himself. I've never watched any player not give a F more than he did last year.
  9. The dawn chorus of New Zealand's native birds. The song of the Tui and Bellbird are incredible.
  10. Nice. Thanks for sharing this. I'm really looking forward to this.
  11. This is a bit silly... of course Schwartz wasn't going to stick around once Rex was hired. (Too bad though... his defence was awesome.)
  12. What a coincidence that this topic got bumped. I was finally able to watch the doco last night and thought it was fantastic. Truly a great time-capsule from those awesome years. Let's go Buffalo!
  13. "I told you so, you morons!"
  14. This is great news. I think he's a helluva GM.
  15. They canceled the city's fireworks display, because some vagrant wanted to attack people in Rochester, so he could join ISIS in Syria?
  16. Happy New Year to all of my fellow Bills fans, spread out across the different time zones. Let's hope and pray that 2016/2017 can bring us more success on the field and more happiness off of it. I wish you all a great new year.
  17. A gorgeous 75 in Nelson, New Zealand!
  18. Merry Christmas from the summery side of the globe!
  19. I'll be working through Christmas eve and then will have 3 weeks off. This is pretty much standard time off for people in NZ. It's the beginning of the Christmas/summer holidays so its time to have fun in the sun!
  20. The New Zealand All Blacks are the two-time defending world cup champions. (RWC 2011 and 2015) Apart from them, there's been nothing by suffering Go you mighty All Blacks!
  21. What a stupid rant. As far as I'm concerned, there are far too many former players/coaches in the media booth. Sure they may have some "inside knowledge" about the game, but many of them are just stupid jocks.
