Cam Newton open to backing up Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen
C.Biscuit97 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Heathy Cam >>>>> Kyle Allen people hate him, and get it to an extent, but if he’s healthy (and that’s a huge if), he’s the perfect backup to Allen. Former MVP, played in a SB, was said to be a great team guy in NE. It won’t happen but I feel a million times better winning a game with him than Josh’s friend Kyle. -

The Ravens signed Nelson Agholar. They’re set at receiver now. -

Um, you should read up dolphins. Awful, awful animals and sums up Miami.

I have no disagreement with any of this. I do think for special players you scheme up to get them the ball. Davis and McKenzie struggled last year. Why didn’t Knox get more involved? The Giants just traded for Waller. I bet they find ways to get him the ball (until he gets hurt in week 2). I really like Knox. He had something unimaginable happen to him last year. I just would like a true 1, scheme breaking TE for the bills once in my life. I think number 2 receivers are a lot easier to find than a dominant TE and I think there are 3 guys who could be that for us in this draft (Washington worries me a bit). I know it won’t happen but Mayer and Allen would be a buddy movie.

Delusional fans on a message board???

Not that it matters because he’s a qb but he looking a lot more like Parks & Rec Pratt than Guardians of the Galaxy Pratt.

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jack-campbell/32004341-4d36-4731-433d-b35acfc680bc https://thedraftnetwork.com/sr-prospect/jack-campbell-d213e4cd-9072-4d5b-bd52-05f43d4151c0/ https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Jack-Campbell-LB-Iowa in the only game against a legit passing attack (there are some awful offenses in the big 10, especially with throwing the ball), they lost 54-10 to OSU. there is a huge difference between being a good zone defender in the big 10 and getting schemed up to go man against slots and TEs. That is the underrated part we are going to miss with Edmunds. I really like Campbell but it feels like we are drafting Poz 2.0, which is solid (and I was probably a bigger fan of his than most). But is that what we should be using a 1st on? That’s kinda the point. No one is discounting Campbell as being a great college player and athlete. But he won’t be in the nfl and teams scheme weaknesses. The nerd from Miami will have crossing all over the field against us if we had Campbell. really like the player and hope he can figure it out. But it’s a concern.

But you don’t think there’s a reason why he doesn’t get the ball more? Why he never scored a td and was a small part of a wide open passing attack in college (new to the position and other players are valid)? I just think he’s just a guy who is a low end starter and you can do better. Not the most glaring need on our team by far but why can’t the Bills ever have a dominant TE? Imagine in playoff games in January and having a Gronk type to get the ball to and bully d backs in nickel and dime coverages with run instead of a 5’7 150 lbs out there.

Yea, one of the worst decisions of coaching career. That and hiring his first OC. McDermott was a disaster on offense his first year here. but they are nfl GMs. They can’t make mistakes!!! leaf had other issues but had a 50 career passing rating. Harrington had 69 (nice!). You are going to be hard press to find a guy who started multiple games who is worse than NP (nice guy, joke of a qb).

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
C.Biscuit97 replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Spoiler alert: The bills aren’t trading for him. -
I think the point you’re missing alpha is we need a real number 1 te which many of the really good teams have. I love Knox. Great dude who went through a ton this year. But I think we maxed out his production and it’s a great pick. But no team game plans for him. Great TEs can open up your offense in so many different ways. also, when the weather gets bad, nice to have the big guy to get easy completions. I kinda blows my mind why the bills hate TEs. What is the highest draft pick we have ever spent on a TE?
-
Honestly probably not. But great point since clearly the bears have shown to be awesome in their qb scouting ability. How can we possibly question the decision making of the Chicago bears who have been bursting with franchise qbs over the years???? Excellent, excellent point. You can never question politicians by your wonderful logic as well so I hope you don’t! In a league where passing numbers are on steroids and records are broken every game, Nate Peterman has a qb rating of (and this is on steroids because of the era!) 39!!! But fans are not as smart as nfl GMs and coaches!!! https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PeteNa00.htm for reference, this is about half less than EJ Manuel. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/ManuEJ00.htm

I was just responding to using him like deebo. I heard a point about QJ that makes you think, how many 1st round pick receivers with questionable hands shake that in the nfl?
-
Does Dorsey seem like the guy to scheme up plays like that? Shanahan might be the best play designer in the nfl and Dorsey, to be nice, is inexperienced.
-
True but Mac had like 5 good games his rookie year and was pretty crappy for the rest. He has no upside and was a product of the players around him at Bama. Belichick is awful at evaluating offensive players.
-
Problem is Mac Jones acts like he’s Brady. He is average in every possible way. I was never happier than when the Pats took him. That said, what they did to douche Mac was criminal and every other coach in the nfl would have lost their job for if. The buzz is they want lamar. Belichick has struggled against mobile qbs. Problem is NE’s offense is about as bad as baltimores so I’m not sure it would help lamar.
-
For the amount of resources we have put in rbs, it’s embarrassing we don’t have a guy that teams fear. Imagine a legit stud rb next to Allen. Mobile qbs are like steroids to rbs. Plus, they can save wear and tear on Allen in short yardage situations. im not saying I want Robinson. But I won’t exactly be mad. Sick of these scat backs.
-
I don’t think so. I do think fans are delusional about us getting a high priced vet receiver because of Allen’s contract and Diggs. But the draft is where we can get the next Diggs for a fraction of a cost. Plus, I won’t be shocked if Diggs gets moved after the season. we need to load up on young guys to grow with Allen and learn from Diggs while he is here.

Haha, I work with my lady for better or worse. No late work evenings yet haha.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
C.Biscuit97 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good post. I would say it would be interesting if Mahomes was up and would his contract be fully guaranteed. Nfl owners have fought that for so long and I think qb contracts compared to the rest of the positions are getting out of control. I think the owners while not colliding are United to fight stop the madness after the Watson contract. I definitely believe if he didn’t want the guaranteed money, he would have been signed. im not saying Jackson is making the right moves. But it’s hard for these guys to settle for less when they think a guy they are better than (I think pre rapist Watson was better than Jackson). I do think someone should get in his ear. If I was the ravens, I’d promise to get him receivers and open up the offense and see how he does in it and then work on a long term deal. -

Brown was ninth in targets his last year in bAltimore. All his numbers were worse in Arizona. He wanted out because of the system they run and all receivers care about is getting their stats. They have never had a receiver the talent level of Diggs. AB didn’t want to come to Buffalo because of Allen. Now, that looks incredibly stupid. if Jackson was in the Miami system (again, he has already won a mvp) and was “struggling,” that would be one thing. But Roman’s system is limiting and he played with mainly garbage around him besides Andrews. Imo, if he is miamis qb, they would be a major problem. That’s fair. I believe he probably will take a step back and get a major, but not fully guaranteed contract. -
If the bills were smart, they look at the amount of teams that win SBs who have a dominant TE. I like Knox but he isn’t a TE teams spend the week game planning for. Imagine Allen having Mayer in the middle of the field as a security blanket. Or having him dominate d bags in the run game because we can be so versatile with our formations and personnel. this is the golden age of receivers. They are growing on trees. But for some reason, this franchise hates the idea of having a beast TE. Worked well for the Pats. And the chiefs. then drafted multiple receivers in the draft (unless JSN slides because he’s perfect for us). We need a #1 TE and there’s a few in this draft.
