  1. Yup. When a guy connect with Buffalo or the Bulls doesn’t something, fans rush to defend them. If it was Bob Kraft or a Pat, we would call them a scumbag.
  2. Good post and I do agree. this is where I’m at with Allen. Part of me wants to let him just go out there and rip it. Let him make mistakes and just live with it. I want to see if he is a franchise guy instead of just a game manager who makes big plays. At the same point, I don’t think the coaches fully trust him. And with our defense, I don’t blame them. as far as the deep ball, the league has seen a million guys with strong arms who couldn’t make it because they lacked touch. Losman was like this. He probably was best at throwing deep passes and then would bounce a swing pass. EJ actually had a cannon but played like a robot and throw mid range passes like he was playing darts. What makes Mahomes so great is he had a cannon and some of the best touch I’ve seen since Rodgers on deep passes. Allen doesn’t have that touch on his passes consistently and needs it to be the guy. And it’s not as easy as some think it is. He was better at the intermediate passes for sure. He was also smarter about taking hits. He would have quarters and sometimes halves where he played well. But it’s never consistently for a game and that’s because he isn’t the most consistent qb. Consistency is what makes franchise guys.
  3. Can’t lie. I loved the O’Leary pick. He was dangerous in college with crazy Jameis. Maybe he should wear gloves. I mean it’s not like our tight ends have been killing it either. It’s like breaking up with a 4 and bragging that you are now dating a 5.
  4. He’s in the rotation because we overpaid him. He is the definition of replaceable. He is Chris Kelsay 2.0. I never got the Penny pick for Seattle. But would I trade a JAG DE for a first round talent that I liked who hasn’t hit their stride yet? Hell yeah. Seattle probably won’t even make that trade anyways.
  5. Honest question: what is Allen’s fault? I’ve literally never seen a top 10 qb be held less accountable than people hold Allen here. Nothing is his fault. It’s the o line. It’s the receivers can’t catch. It’s the defense’s for being too good so he doesn’t get to pad his stats. ? Allen definitely shown improvement. But when a guy hasn’t hit 60% of his passes on any level, including a lower college conference where a top 10 pick should dominate, maybe it’s not everyone else’s fault. Maybe Allen just needs to get better. I have zero doubts of his work ethic. But man, he gets so many excuses made for him, while some of the same posters would rip other qbs for the same things. just use him like the light skinned Cam Newton and hopes he limits his mistakes. The Bills are going to try to make him into Brady and that’s a mistake.
  6. Allen pumps up his stats against Miami. They would be a little scary with those games. We had a top 3 defense and top 10 scoring under Whaley. People overrate this culture stuff. I definitely think McDermott is a coach that players want to play for. But we had that in the past. Now we need a good qb. We’ll see how good NE’s culture is without Brady.
  7. I’m actually fine with the Norman pickup because it’s low risk but that’s hilarious.
  8. That’s why I didn’t get why fans would be so quick to want them to get another shot if Allen doesn’t make it. Here’s what they done with the qb position: - draft Nate peterman - put Tyrod Taylor in a west coach offense, traded away Watkins weeks before the season and replaced him with Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin - benched Tyrod for Peterman and saw one of the worst nfl starts in history - went into last year with Allen, a rookie, and Peterman as the only qbs on the roster - started Nate again who reminded us why he was one of the worst qbs ever - cut peterman and brought the corpse of Derek Anderson out of retirement who had to start 2 games - got Matt Barkley and his 65 career qb rating off the scrap heap so yeah, I’m not so sure why everyone is so sold on this regime knowing what the hell they are doing with qbs. If they fail with the highest drafted qb in franchise history (and hopefully they won’t), why do they deserve another shot again? Because it’s been pretty awful at qb besides hopefully Allen, So many fans are just content with Barkley. It’s weird. Nice guy but might not even be in the nfl if we didn’t have him.
  9. Yup. And I’m sure the Bears were thinking the same thing with Mitchell after his second year. This is an absolutely huge year for Allen’s career. The excuses are done and it looks to be a harder schedule. Prove you’re the guy.
  10. It’s a good question for sure. Obviously there’s other factors, but should any team keep a regime that failed in picking a top 10 qb? So hey can screw it up again. take away the qb position. Is this roster that much better than our roster in 2014? The qb position trumps everything. Should the Bears keep Ryan Pace if they suck this year and Mitchell Tribusky isn’t good? People overreact how much difference there are between GMs/ head coaches. For all the talk of Belichick, he has rode the greatest qb for 20 years. i think they have done some nice things and hopefully this doesn’t matter because Allen is really the guy. But they are very overrated here and can easily be replaced. Again, hopefully it doesn’t matter.
  11. I wonder what this thread would look like if it was about Bob Kraft. and it’s a tough issue. But it’s a tough look on the surface.
  12. And those healthy legs are nothing special.
  13. Even the corpse of Big Ben is better than ?. If they had decent qb play, they make the playoffs.
  14. Wait. When did this happen??? and dean has a hot girlfriend. That is all.
  15. They literally had the same ypc and the Rams had a worse offensive line. There is nothing special about Gordon. Gurley, has lost a step, but he is better than Gordon IMO. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/offensive-line/2019
  16. Why are we always trying to trade up? To get the next Zay Jones?
  17. Because he was the best defensive player on the market. He would have made that anywhere. Most of the guys we just signed are overpaid. That’s free agency. You build through the draft and supplement with FAs. its all about qbs. We freaking won 7-8 games with JP, Trent, & Fitz. Now we need to hope Allen is better than those guys. The 2014 and 2003 teams were loaded. Not good enough qb play. It’s that simple. Those teams could have won SBs with Brady.
  18. Maybe he likes playing football and doesn’t want to stop playing
  19. Good point about the 3rd down role. Imo, you get dion Lewis and then draft a physical rb in the draft.
  20. No, people are basing it off his entire career. That one game was the complete outlier. (58.8%, 10 td to 21 int!, 65.7 qb rating). That’s freaking awful and may be the worst of any qb not named Peterman in the nfl. I can’t believe people are content with him because he’s friends with Josh and knows the playbook. and washed up Flacco’s numbers last year: 65.2%, 6 td, 5 int, 227 passing yards/ game, 85.1 qb rating. His worst is so far superior to Barkley’s best and oh yeah, he won a SB. We are keeping a 2 because they are nice instead of rolling with an aging 8. It makes no sense.
  21. $5 million. Pretty good deal for the Falcons.
  22. You know we did sign Mario Williams right? This whole FAs didn’t want to go to Buffalo stuff is completely overrated. We didn’t lose because we couldn’t get FAs. We lost because our QBs sucked. It’s really not that complicated. I was not a Tyrod supporter but they completely screwed up by putting him in a WCO, trading away Sammy a week before the season, and replacing him with Jordan Matthews and Benjamin. They set him up to fail.
  23. I still don’t get why people want a veteran rb so bad. It is the easiest position to transition from college to the nfl. There are guys in the draft with less miles, more explosive, and much cheaper to get. and for the record, I would have paid Gurley for a year. He is special, though his knees aren’t. The rest of the choices are meh.
  24. Gordon is so overrated and completely misplayed his hand. Just draft a guy for much, much cheaper.
