Carruci: Bills not pursuing Cam Newton
C.Biscuit97 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, you didn’t answer my question. Where are the guys who actually play with him, and not sit on the couch, say he is a bad teammate? -

I was thinking of more the Jones trade and the Edmunds (I really like him but it could be argued they could have drafted at the same spot and gotten two better players). And it’s to early to say for sure on Allen. And besides the Sammy trade (who was one of the best college receivers I have ever seen), Whaley made some really good trades. For EJ, he traded down and got Kiko, who became Shady. And he also got Hughes for Sheppard. Pretty decent. -

I know haha. Ok, that’s fine. -
I mean it was beyond stupid. Like starting Nate Peterman stupid. And it’s amazing how some people think fair criticism (24th in QBR) is hate. If anything, I like Allen more as a person since we have drafted him. I think he’s a real good dude and have heard nothing but good things about him. But I’m still not convinced he is consistent enough to be a franchise qb and some fans dismiss his faults a little too easily. But there isn’t an ounce of hate for him as a dude.

Stop trading up. It’s annoying. -
Carruci: Bills not pursuing Cam Newton

Flacco is far away the best of that group. Shoot, he may look better in camp than Allen. But he would be the best backup choice. Again, where are the character concerns about Newton from Carolina??? Yeah, I’m sure They hated Newton when they went to the SB which helped them all get better jobs. -
NFL releases All-Decade Team - 4 former Bills selected
C.Biscuit97 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All this proves is the Bills rosters were generally fine. Just couldn’t find a qb. It’s that simple. and Gore isn’t that good. He was not a special player. He is the Harold Baines of football. -
If the Bills had had Diggs in 2019
C.Biscuit97 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was starting my sophomore year in college all through training camp at receiver. Having possibly the best camp of anyone on the team. Spectacular catches. Coaches pulling me aside, telling me the offense is going through me and I was going to have 100 catches easy. Well, we had a play that was an automatic audible. Well, I completely blanked and ran the same play wrong 3 times in a row!! After that, I was Zay Jones. Started dropping everything and lost my starting job. Ended up switching to defense and while I had some moments there, it wasn’t the same. If that play doesn’t happen in practice, I probably dominate. Eventually I get drafted (maybe by the Bills who take a chance on a local kid). I become good friends with Gronk, offseason hangout buddies in WNY. Gronk takes me to a Hollywood party. I meet Margot Robbie. We fall madly in love. Get married, 2 kids, 2 dogs, beachfront place in Malibu. I’m earning millions but my wife makes even more than me! Eventually, things happen with our Colombian nanny and Margot and I divorce. I struggle post nfl career to not being constantly praised and with my injuries, I get hooked on pills because weed is the devil’s lettuce. Well a couple of prison stints later, I become clean and go on talk shows. The networks notice and I get a Romo type deal to be a commentator. And then at a SB party, I met a 25 year old upcoming pop star and boom, 2nd marriage and 4 more kids. Life is great. ? -
Tre is awesome. But how can you say they were right? One, they could have kept Gilmore and drafted White. Lockdown central. They could have kept Gilmore and drafted Mahomes or Watson. again, Tre is one of the best in the game. But he’s still a cb. You aren’t “right” if you let a DPOY walk for nothing and pass up 2 top 5 caliber qbs, one who has the chance to be one of best ever. It’s worked out ok for us so far, but we were hardly “right.” I think that would hurt even more. ? and then she started watching the Bills when all she used to do is complain about you watching them (that’s my ex ?). ?
-
How many of the UDFAs were Defensive Player of the Year? How many times did they hold the top offense in the nfl to 3 points in the SB? i mean if some of you can’t admit Gilmore is really good by now, y’all just some salty ex lovers. ? They spent a 1st rounder on McCourty. Some fans are trying really hard to put Gilmore down. Your ex girlfriend got married to a guy who is better looking and has more money than you. And she got a boob job, starting hitting the gym real hard, and now looks like a supermodel. Just work on improving yourself. ?

I get what you’re saying but you have to think SB right now, even if it sounds crazy. I’d say it’s 50-50 that Allen gets that big deal but if he does, everything changes. This is the window to go all in, which I think they have done a pretty good job with. But for all this talk about being salary cap “wizards,” Basically they had a bunch of cheap young guys who hadn’t gotta paid yet. When Tre and possibly Allen get their money, there goes the salary cap.

Carruci: Bills not pursuing Cam Newton
C.Biscuit97 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where are the reports of coaches and players saying one negative thing about Cam in the lockerroom? We also traded for Benjamin who was a fat loser in Carolina. The Majority of the people who have the most problem with Newton are grumpy (normally older) fans who think Rivers trash talking is a good ol’ boy having fun and when Newton does it, he’s a problem in the lockerroom. he isn’t coming here and he shouldn’t. He’s too good to be a backup for Allen. I just hope he’s healthy and gets to shut people up. I’ve never seen a good qb take as much crap as he does. -
I don’t want to really win the SB this year. But let’s really go for it in 5 years when we have tons of cap space!!! Stupid KC. Look at their lack of cap space. I bet they totally regret all those contracts now!!! and I don’t want to pay JC that much. So overrated. We already have enough “pass rushers” who don’t get sacks. I’d rather have Shaq at 10 than JC at $18 (and Murphy at $0 ?).

Josh working on his ‘social distancing’..
C.Biscuit97 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe Allen should miss them in practice and then play like a MVP in games. ? Guy certainly has a cannon. In terms of pure distance throwing, is he the strongest arm? I was young for the Kelly years so while he’s the best all around, I’m not sure of his full arm strength. Losman had a cannon. And a sneaky strongest Bill arm would be EJ. When he was playing like a robot and throwing like he was playing darts, he had a cannon. -
Haha, this is a bad take. Bad Joe Flacco last year had 6 td to 5 in and a 85 qb rating. Barkley has 10 td to 21 int and a 66 rating for his career. Next to Nate Peterman, he might be statistically the worst qb in the nfl. Almost any veteran qb is an upgrade. But he is a really, really nice guy. Just doesn’t have a nfl arm. This is a candidate for most ? take on this board ever!!! Are you sure you are taking about Matt Barkley (super nice guy) and not another player?

Cornerbacks get beat all the time. I don’t think most fans understand how difficult playing cornerback in the NFL is right now. Deion Sanders would give up catches with these rules. It is the most physically demanding position in sports. and I’ve been consistent with my Gilmore praise. I didn’t think he was a HOF but I thought he was pro bowl level and I never got the “hate” he received while a Bill. but good talks. I’ll enjoy the takedowns of the DPOY from afar. Gotta strap on the mask and gloves and head to the store to prepare for Wrestlemania. Go Randy Orton!!! go Sasha Banks!!!

He played in a high school offense (that finished top 10 in scoring) with terrible qbs (Tyrod was a solid game manager but passing down field was not his strength), hurt his foot (ask anyone receiver, it’s a killer injury), rushes back before it was fully healed to prove his toughness, and it missed him up the rest of the time he was here. He averaged a 0.5 Reviving yard per game more than Diggs has when he was a Bill. I like good football players personally. Couldn’t stay healthy and that sucks. But it wasn’t like he was playing with Brees or Rodgers when he was here.

Sammy Watkins restructures contract - Will Return
C.Biscuit97 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I should have clarified. Physically demanding. That’s why it’s absolutely insane watching the knee jerk reaction to cornerback play. This is a league where they want you to throw the ball and put up monster stats. Dak (who I think is a lot better than most people but still) almost three for 5,000 yards this season! Dak Prescott! Yet, fans lose their minds If a cornerback gives up a catch. It’s wild. -
Missed where someone called him a generational talent. He did led the Chiefs in receiving in the playoffs (he averages 91 yards a game in the playoffs for them) and helped them win a SB. bills fans trying to put Gilmore and Watkins are like that fat guy looking at a famous supermodel and saying she isn’t really that hot. Look at her toes (Rex Ryan has entered the chat). ?
