Perriman had 100 less yards and 2 more tds in 2 less games than Anderson. BP had been a huge bust and had terrible hands. But he was really good down the stretch for the Bucs and is blessed with a lot of God given talent. His upside could be higher than Anderson if he can catch the ball, which has been a problem. It takes a big man to admit when he’s wrong, and since I am so rarely wrong and I’m a big man, I’ll admit I thought Gase would be fine. All he had to do was develop Darnold and he would be fine. I underestimated how much of a weirdo he is. that said, I think it would be dumb to overlook the Jets. They had a terrible start to the season losing their qb and MLB and finished well. He needs to cut down on the picks but SD showed some big flashes down the stretch.

Chris Simms: Five Biggest Winners from NFL Free Agency

Thank you and you make good points. Believe it or not, I absolutely love Allen’s attitude and work ethic. I have zero questions about that. I just worry that we drafted a guy so high and hoping he will be a better player in the nfl than in the MWC. The amount of 1st round qbs who become better players in the nfl than they were in college is extremely rare. Also, and our fans hate it, the 60% thing is a real thing. There is not one qb drafted in the last 5 years who has become successful and never broke the 60% barrier. Allen would be completely the exception to the rule. but they have given the pieces and I am definitely excited to see what he does with them this year. I just wanted the excuses to be done and know for sure if he’s the guy. But I agree, he certainly carries himself “the right way.” -

No one bashed mayfield??? What are you talking about? He has gotten killed all offseason. And who cares about the media? All that matters on the field. Personally, I saw improvement with Allen but I still think he has a ways to go and he gets way too much of a pass from Bills fans (understandable). But the media loved the Bills last year. -

I guess the other thing I failed to concern is the medical records. But couldn’t the nfl just have an approved group of doctors and the entire league uses the same records? -
Bills Among Favorites Says Ravens Beat Guy/Columnist

Allen isn’t being asked to win with his arm either. and the Ravens crapped the bed but I think they were in the Titans territory like 7 times and just screwed up. It wasn’t exactly like they were completely shut down. -

I don’t get this Dr. Jackson had 16 more td passes. He completed 66% of his passes (Allen was 58.8%) at a higher YPA (7.8 compared to 6.7). Also, Jackson had better passing numbers in college (what good Louisville receivers did have that are in the nfl) than Allen while playing against much harder competition. How can anyone say Allen is a better passer at this point? There is zero evidence of this. And it’s not knocking Allen. But it’s question why so many people don’t give Jackson more credit. also, shouldn’t every team want to give their qb easy passes to complete? It would be pretty dumb not to. Maybe the Bills should borrow some concepts from the Ravens who had a much superior offense. -

Jackson has had better stats as a passer than Allen since high school and did in college in the ACC while Allen was a 56% in the MWC. But clearly Allen is a better passer and all of Jackson’s numbers don’t count. Just like his Heisman and MVP. Clearly, Allen is the better passer and qb . Excellent point. -

For real. The NFL stuff is the only sports we have. these GMs act like it’s so hard. Just research the guy’s background and FaceTime interviews. They are going to make a bunch of terrible picks anyways. or just let each team’s fans vote on the draft picks -
Deshaun Watson To Patriots Rumours Begin To Swirl

I think he died. but I think one thing everyone can agree is how the Texans (should be the Oilers, the Buffalo NeW Yorkers) let Bill O’Brien ruin a team with some of the best young talent in the nfl. Gave away Clowney (overrated but it was a joke trade), gave away Hopkins for an over the hill and expensive rb, and spent 2 1sts on an OT. Might as well give Watson away to finish the job. -
Would Cam Newton be a good backup to Josh?

Winston career int % 3.5 barkley career int % 6.1 He also drafted Nate Peterman, career int 9.2%!!! winston might be too cautious to be a Bills backup. -

Actually Stidham and a 7th round pick will be the trade package for Watson. -

Bill O’Brien -
Just curious why don’t you think Cam would fit in NE? Also, Denver is basically the same situation as us. If he’s 100%, he’s better than Lock but I can’t see them doing that because it would be like bringing him here behind Allen. LAC makes the most Sense because he would start and they could draft a young guy too.

Why are there such double standards here? You know who isn’t a good pocket passer? Josh Allen. You guys love to trash guys like Jackson and Newton and their passing abilities. You realize they have been better passers at every level than Allen right? Against much better competition in college, right? and this is far from a knock against Allen because I’m comparing him to MVP and Heisman trophy winners. But there seems like there are serious double standards here. Allen’s best skill right now is his running ability. Can he improve? Of course. And so can Jackson. and the Bills on paper have one of the best rosters in the afc. Much tougher schedule and need Allen to take the next step. This year will be a great test of if Allen is a franchise guy. -

I do agree with this. I also know we’re screwed if Barkley has to play and that could derail a playoff berth. Get Joe Flacco. -

Come on dude. Basically you said you like Simms because he likes Allen. There are plenty of nfl connected people who still have plenty of questions about Allen still. it’s funny that there are threads about Cam Newton. Allen plays like a lesser version of Newton and isn’t as good of a passer. As with Newton, the question is if Allen isn’t running, is he good enough to win from the pocket? Right now, it’s hard to say he is. and on topic, the Bills had a very good offseason. I’d still like a big bodied receiver, edge rusher, and rb. But we’ve had good offseason before. It’s all about Allen growing. Love the Madden ratings! -
He was hitting 67% of his passes (best of his career) and a MVP candidate halfway through the season 2 years ago. He was running less and becoming a better passer.
-
I’m someone who feels Dalton has gotten a bad rap. He’s had a solid career. But if healthy, Newton is a top 10 qb and has never had close to a receiver like Green. Carolina did a terrible job surrounding him with quality receivers until DJ Moore. Personally, I don’t think you should even stop looking for QBs until you for sure have one. So i would try to get as many good qbs as you can. Qbs like Newton never appear on waivers unless injuries happen so it could be smart to grab him. at the same point, it could be a disaster if Allen struggles. But you need to be better than Matt Barkley. You’re describing Allen except he’s been a worse passer than Newton. So is he just a great athlete and never going to be a good qb? You know Newton, the bad passer who broke Peyton Manning’s rookie passing records.

Don’t forgot his post game outfits too!!! they are pretty awful but the stuff people hold against Cam is hilarious.

But is that smart? I mean I love that attitude but if your qb gets a concussion there, will fans be applauding his bravery? Watch what Brady does on INTs. He runs out of the way. Looks very soft but what if Brady gets hurt on a crack back block and is knocked out? part of the reason Newton has had so many injuries is because he tries to win on every play. Again, you love the attitude until he gets hurt. Allen should develop a similar mindset. You don’t last as a starting qb being a hero on every play. -
Are you being serious John??? I mean corona could wipe out certain teams but last years schedule was one of the easiest ones the Bills have ever had. The NFC East was a crap division. The Fins were trying to tank. Darnold got mono and Mosley got hurt. We played a guy named Duck. We played the Titans before they switched qbs.
