What a long way we have come
C.Biscuit97 replied to Allen2Moulds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen pumps up his stats against Miami. They would be a little scary with those games. We had a top 3 defense and top 10 scoring under Whaley. People overrate this culture stuff. I definitely think McDermott is a coach that players want to play for. But we had that in the past. Now we need a good qb. We’ll see how good NE’s culture is without Brady. -
Bills CB K.Johnson to Browns 1Yr $3.5M

I’m actually fine with the Norman pickup because it’s low risk but that’s hilarious. -
That’s why I didn’t get why fans would be so quick to want them to get another shot if Allen doesn’t make it. Here’s what they done with the qb position: - draft Nate peterman - put Tyrod Taylor in a west coach offense, traded away Watkins weeks before the season and replaced him with Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin - benched Tyrod for Peterman and saw one of the worst nfl starts in history - went into last year with Allen, a rookie, and Peterman as the only qbs on the roster - started Nate again who reminded us why he was one of the worst qbs ever - cut peterman and brought the corpse of Derek Anderson out of retirement who had to start 2 games - got Matt Barkley and his 65 career qb rating off the scrap heap so yeah, I’m not so sure why everyone is so sold on this regime knowing what the hell they are doing with qbs. If they fail with the highest drafted qb in franchise history (and hopefully they won’t), why do they deserve another shot again? Because it’s been pretty awful at qb besides hopefully Allen, So many fans are just content with Barkley. It’s weird. Nice guy but might not even be in the nfl if we didn’t have him.

Next years starters - only getting better
C.Biscuit97 replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. And I’m sure the Bears were thinking the same thing with Mitchell after his second year. This is an absolutely huge year for Allen’s career. The excuses are done and it looks to be a harder schedule. Prove you’re the guy. -
It’s a good question for sure. Obviously there’s other factors, but should any team keep a regime that failed in picking a top 10 qb? So hey can screw it up again. take away the qb position. Is this roster that much better than our roster in 2014? The qb position trumps everything. Should the Bears keep Ryan Pace if they suck this year and Mitchell Tribusky isn’t good? People overreact how much difference there are between GMs/ head coaches. For all the talk of Belichick, he has rode the greatest qb for 20 years. i think they have done some nice things and hopefully this doesn’t matter because Allen is really the guy. But they are very overrated here and can easily be replaced. Again, hopefully it doesn’t matter.

And those healthy legs are nothing special.
-
Even the corpse of Big Ben is better than ?. If they had decent qb play, they make the playoffs.
-
Wait. When did this happen??? and dean has a hot girlfriend. That is all.
-
They literally had the same ypc and the Rams had a worse offensive line. There is nothing special about Gordon. Gurley, has lost a step, but he is better than Gordon IMO. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/offensive-line/2019

How the Bills trade up in the 2020 draft

Why are we always trying to trade up? To get the next Zay Jones? -

Because he was the best defensive player on the market. He would have made that anywhere. Most of the guys we just signed are overpaid. That’s free agency. You build through the draft and supplement with FAs. its all about qbs. We freaking won 7-8 games with JP, Trent, & Fitz. Now we need to hope Allen is better than those guys. The 2014 and 2003 teams were loaded. Not good enough qb play. It’s that simple. Those teams could have won SBs with Brady. -
Bills/Diggs trade - did it drive Brady to leave NE?
C.Biscuit97 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe he likes playing football and doesn’t want to stop playing -
No, people are basing it off his entire career. That one game was the complete outlier. (58.8%, 10 td to 21 int!, 65.7 qb rating). That’s freaking awful and may be the worst of any qb not named Peterman in the nfl. I can’t believe people are content with him because he’s friends with Josh and knows the playbook. and washed up Flacco’s numbers last year: 65.2%, 6 td, 5 int, 227 passing yards/ game, 85.1 qb rating. His worst is so far superior to Barkley’s best and oh yeah, he won a SB. We are keeping a 2 because they are nice instead of rolling with an aging 8. It makes no sense.

$5 million. Pretty good deal for the Falcons.

You know we did sign Mario Williams right? This whole FAs didn’t want to go to Buffalo stuff is completely overrated. We didn’t lose because we couldn’t get FAs. We lost because our QBs sucked. It’s really not that complicated. I was not a Tyrod supporter but they completely screwed up by putting him in a WCO, trading away Sammy a week before the season, and replacing him with Jordan Matthews and Benjamin. They set him up to fail. -
I still don’t get why people want a veteran rb so bad. It is the easiest position to transition from college to the nfl. There are guys in the draft with less miles, more explosive, and much cheaper to get. and for the record, I would have paid Gurley for a year. He is special, though his knees aren’t. The rest of the choices are meh.

We are looking at Melvin Gordon according to this tweet
C.Biscuit97 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gordon is so overrated and completely misplayed his hand. Just draft a guy for much, much cheaper. -
It’s a year. Settle down. and it’s nuts he’s only 25. They have a good offense on paper and i they finished up pretty good. They could be tough if we have football this year. Also, rbs should go on strike. Worst position in pro sports right now. You get used up and then quickly thrown away. I agree but I don’t know people want an expensive vet so bad. Just draft a guy. They fall in the draft every year and it’s the easiest learning curve of any position.

Bills/Diggs trade - did it drive Brady to leave NE?
C.Biscuit97 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the Bills so very much. But do you think after the last 20 years, NE is concerned with us at all? They have been horrible at getting him weapons besides Randy Moss and Gronk his entire there. Man, I wish Brady would have stayed and we could have finally slayed the dragon. -
Rams cut Gurley to Atl 1yr $5M

Seems like a legit good guy. The nfl is a cold business. -

I mean it was a tough spot. He was one of the best players in the nfl. I feel as bad as you can for a professional athletes who are running backs. They get the crap kicked out of them and teams don’t want to pay them. I don’t how why you ever want to be a rb if you could play another position. -

They averaged the same YPC and the Rams oline was garbage. TG isn’t the guy from a couple of years ago but I believe he has a few more quality years left. imagine if he went to the Chiefs.
