I used to hate him but he’s one of the biggest reasons why the draft is as big as it is. He’s like your drunk uncle who rambles about the glory days but you love anyways.

If they didn’t draft Gabriel, they are having a really strong draft. It’s a lottery ticket and if he sucks or is annoying, they get rid of him. Not sure what the downside is since he’s a 5th rounder.

If Deion did that, SS’s nfl career would be over. Sanders has zero leverage. Shedur and his family need to shut up and say how happy they are to go to Cleveland and compete for a job.

I mean I know they are the Browns but they have a good offensive head coach. It’s going to depend on him.

If they didn’t pick Gabriel, I would think it was a great roll of the dice pick. when he comes in the first day, you remember him he’s a 5th round pick and can get cut in a second. I would like this if I was sadly a Browns fan. And it doesn’t stop you from picking a guy next year.

Obviously a long time to play out but the Ravens always crush drafts.

I love Shakir but it’s not crazy to think that there could be a late round pick who could eventually become better than him. But you will never know if you don’t try. again, it’s not the biggest need. But we severely lack big play threats and that’s crazy with a guy like Allen. We are tie against the cap so the draft is your best chance to hit on a future stud. We don’t have a number 1 option and you can get by with that. But I do believe it does catch up and it is happening to the Chiefs. Agree on the faults of the defense. However the offense got the ball back a couple of times in the title game and failed. we have one player (Cook) who scares defenses. Love Shakir but he doesn’t scare you. Just think we need one more weapon to make this offense truly scary.

Not drafting a wr because you have Josh Palmer and Curtis Samuel is an insane thought process. This team should never stop trying to find playmakers for Allen, even if they are long shot late round guys.

Ayonmanor Is my guy. Rawer, Canadian (a positive for once!), and is like a faster Gabe Davis who I think could possibly be developed into more (and Gabe was an absolute home run pick).

I mean there are lesser guys who have random good games against better players all the time. So happy that NE didn’t get one of the top 3 guys but I don’t think a bad game means he isn’t a good player. Landon has some major tools. Let’s give Von $30 million to mentor him now!

Good post. It’s also tough because besides his tremendous physical skills (it’s funny that the knock on Deion’s son is he isn’t athletic enough), Deion’s confidence made him great. When I played (cue up glory days), I would get in my head and I was always jealous of the super confident players. But there is a fine line between confidence and cockiness. Especially at QB. Allen has some cockiness but he is a tremendous leader and not entitled (which given his background makes sense).

Wait so I live in a cave besides I don’t think this is a race thing but you are insisting the media (not you of course!) are making it about race??? I don’t think I say one comment in this thread about race until this morning and you have like 15 posts about the media and their narrative. Seems like you really want that to be the case. but in a really boring draft, this is by far the most exciting story. Of course the media is going to take about it. There is nothing exciting to talk about. This is also probably the first time in his life that being Deion’s son is bad for him (also him not being an entitled rich kid). All things being equal, he has already been drafted now.

Your post is literally the first time I have heard this about race (also the people who complain about everything being so race driven love bringing up race). As someone who felt Sanders could develop into a nfl starter, race has never once entered my mind. It’s about his attitude and his family. I will never believe purely football wise, Gabriel and the 40 year old the Saints drafted are better prospects than Sanders. I also completely not wanting to deal with Sanders and him really needing to mature into be a leader. I think this could be the best thing for him. He gets humbled and can learn without the pressure of being a franchise guy. But that Colorado team besides him and Hunter pretty much sucked. And those two guys almost single handedly made them into a respectable program. He also did the same at SCSU.

Completely fair assessment. I also saw a team that won one game and became a 9 win team in 2 years with not a ton of talent around him besides Hunter. I think at worst, he’s a solid backup. also, I think this is a bad, blah draft and Sanders falling is the most exciting thing happening.

But it is. I will say that if you are a generational talent, you can get away with it. But obviously, his talent isn’t at that level. But Dillion Gabriel is not a better prospect than Sanders.

Agree 100%. Being humbled, especially as a qb, is good for you. He needs to become a better leader and his dad needs to be quieter. But the guy was a really tough baller who can makes seem big boy throws.

Don’t believe that for a second. There is not a serious human being alive with all things being equal that Dillion Gabriel is a better prospect than Sanders. Sanders and his family just aren’t worth the circus for teams
