I’m team Cook. Second best player on the offense (and maybe team last year). Best player in the championship game and maybe we win the game if he touches the ball more. fans need to remove their feelings. Cook say his brother’s career end at 27. Every good player in his class got a new deal and he’s arguably been the best at his position of all of them. totally understand the problem with paying RBs but Cook has earned a new deal. I’m sure there is a happy median. But for a SB contender to let their 2nd best offensive threat leave would be a tough thing to watch. Especially when that player has gotten better every year Well said. Cook has barely spoken his first couple of years. Everyone who has known him has nothing but positive things about the guy.

Honestly, their rebuild was pretty impressive. They had maybe the least talented roster I have seen like 5 years ago. They swung big and some hit, some didn’t (like the Rams). They are in a no win situation with Tua. He is good enough to justify a contract when he plays but you know he isn’t going to win a big cold weather game and he can get hurt on any given play. they need to trade guys like Ramsey (washed, douche) and Hill (ugly, terrible human being) but unfortunately, with their contracts and age, they are in a tough spot for much return. And Tua isn’t a good enough qb to carry a team.

Eh, Barkley was barely better than Peterman. Two of the worst qbs to play in a long time. i personally like the guy who can play in the league vet (Andy Dalton) or the upside guy. I hate our backups and we are blessed Allen is made of steel.

Can’t believe the Pats traded their best QB!!! Kidding (kinda). I like some of Maye’s skills and he certainly better than MacJones. But man, the way Pats fans (looking at you Bill Simmons) have hyped him, you’d swear he was Manning or Luck. and I know he struggles to put it together but I would love a guy with his skills to learn under Josh. Our backups stick and it could be future tradebait. Milton is why I hated the Josh Allen pick - the toolsy guy who never put it together. It’s why Allen is such a unicorn because these guys fail all the time. But on paper, Milton has an absolute cannon, size, and speed. But as with most of those guys, he lacks consistency and touch,

He was also 3rd in runs over 40 yards (behind Barkley and Henry with over less carries) and 8th in runs over expected value ( https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/rushing#ryoeAtt ) I think sometimes fabs get too emotional about things that don’t really matter. All of those things happening now are negotiations. Cook has as much leverage as he will ever have and doesn’t want to go into the final year of his deal on this contract, after seeing all the other players from his draft class get paid. The Bills are hesitate to pay a rb big money. But I think Bills are selling Cook short on how explosive he was with no real explosive threats in the receiving group to make his job easier. Obviously NFL contracts need to be take with a grain of salt but who is more deserving of 3 years for $36 million for what they have accomplished in the NFL - Josh Palmer or Cook? also, that contract would be like 4% of the Bills salary cap. Cook isn’t worth 4%to a team trying to make the SB?

I like Davis (friend lives near him says he couldn’t be a nicer guy). But he’s barely younger than Cook and I worry he lacks the explosive. also given Cook’s td numbers, he got a lot of short yardage work as well. It’s a tough situation for both the Bills and Cook. He was an absolute stud for us and plays the position with the shortest lifespan in the nfl. He needs to get paid sooner than later. I also get where the Bills are coming from as well. I really hope they can find a compromise because Cook gets better every season.

You are doing (or saying McDermott) hypotheticals. There are plenty of plays guys could get hurt on. Every goal line situation is a car crash. Should that get banned too? and I know you get really sensitive any possible criticism of the Bills but I was talking about the league as a whole. The team that won the SB does a play that every team can do but do it better than everyone else. It needs to be banned!

Who knows? Rico Dowdle averaged 4.6 ypc and Cook is a better player than him. also, Davis averaged a full ypc less on almost 100 less Carries. Backups RBs tend to good ypc because they are counter punchers after the starter comes out. this board just seems really tough on Cook. A lot of fans were trying to replace him last year. And for as good as Allen and the o line is, we have slow WRs who don’t scare defenses. Cook is a very good rb. He helps the Bills as much as we help him. The 3rd down thing is valid but is that also a game plan thing as well? Cook definitely looked fresher last year than previous years. He was an absolute monster in the title game. He also has had almost 500 yards receiving in a season so it’s not like he’s not capable. every time any rb got the ball besides Cook last year, it was a downgrade and we have solid backups. Cook is just way more explosive.

We have Allen. I thought we moved past the dark days of Brian Moorman being our best player. Who cares about punters? Easiest job in pro sports. Zero pressure.

Great posts. Obviously, Dalvin is being loud about it but he saw it first hand. Keeper dynasty leagues I have had both Cooks. Dalvin Cook had 1500 total yards, 10 tds, including an 81 yd td run in front of me that flipped the Bills game, at age 27 and he was basically done after that season. so yeah if I’m Cook, I’m going do what it takes to get a contract extension rather than “trust” a team to pay me.

It’s so weird how many Bills fans are against Cook. This is the most leverage he will ever have at a position with the shortest lifespan. If he was in your family, you’d want him to do the same thing. He has completely outperformed his draft value, was our 2nd best player last year, and arguably the best player in the championship game. He gets hurt next year or doesn’t get the touches (love the Bills but nfl teams will certainly do something like that) and his value gets lowered before he gets a new deal, he’s screwed. obviously he’s not getting $15 million but this is definitely the time for him to try to get a new contract. Cook would put up good numbers in Dallas with a healthy Dak and their WRs. he’s averaged 4.9 ypc for his career, which is outstanding.

I’m definitely interested. Have the home league, the work league, the college league (I’m the commissioner no big deal). Just need the fake bills “friends” (my girlfriend nickname for this board) league to cover my bases.

Mahomes got hurt on a qb sneak. As a result, they choose to stop running it. It didn’t get banned from the league. It’s football. Obviously, it’s not just the Bills but it seems like sour grapes. The Eagles won the SB. Now you’re trying to ban a play that every team in the league can do but they just do it better? How about you stop them so they don’t get to 3/4 & 1.

I love what Stanford is about (actually valuing academics and athletics). But it’s kinda of a meh school in the world of college football. Their crowds are blah and I don’t think they are a big travel fanbase. but it is what ideally college sports should be about. It’s a hard school to recruit. I never thought of Luck as an electric personality but it would be cool to see them get good again. Yeah, great guy but I’m not sure he is a great coach. I think Stanford got Bill Walsh and they had Harbaugh. This is miles from that. It’s a tough place to build a program.

He was a legit borderline top 5 qb. But I don’t get why you make that trade with all that baggage, give up that many picks, and then give him all that money? Even if he was awesome, if I was a Browns fan, it would be hard for me to cheer for a guy who I think is a pervert. now, he’s just a crappy, overpaid, injury prone pervert. The Browns had a nice roster too.

I absolutely hated Murphy. Watson was a top 5 qb at that time. Allen played like he was on drugs. But it was a hell of a ride. Defense has been worse since Frazier left.

Buffalo food and this dude seems like a bad combo. Two of the biggest dudes in my high school got talked into trying out for football. They lasted like one training practice. Now sadly, both passed away before 40. 😢

It’s funny when I was in college, I loved the idea of going to the draft. Now, I can’t imagine anything lamer (still love watching it on tv). But Buffalo will definitely host it and I support anything that brings money to Buffalo. there will be so many dudes, so many chicken wings, and so many destroyed toilets.

To a point. But at some point, having a bunch of meh threats at WR catches up to you. It caught up to us in the title game. It caught up the Chiefs in the SB. james Cook is the only player besides Allen teams worry about. I love Shakir but he shouldn’t be your number 1. Really would like to see another legit fast guy added in the draft (Golden or the Stanford guy).

JJ seems like a good dude but I think he’s a try hard who wants everyone know how good of a guy he is. im also in the minority and really never cared who calls the game. I’m either at the game; watching it out; or with friends/ family so I rarely listen to what the commentary is. In fact, I actually found the SpongeBob telecast more entertaining.

I agree. Cook is at the best leverage he will have in his career. He saw all his classmates get paid and he was arguably the 2nd best bill last year. You could even say if he was given the ball more in the championship, the bills might win the game. I also get where the Bills are coming from and paying RBs is tough. But when you are a SB contender, you aren’t going to get better not having k. People love overrating backups but there have been plenty of cases where the backup becomes the main guy and stinks. cook has earned a raise. Now the question is how much.

Actually, I was eating chips at tailgates and going to 12 games this year. I basically am single handedly paying Allen’s salary! you could have said “I hope you got the Super Bowl you worked so hard for” but saying he deserves it more than fans (or Dawkins or Milano (and all his injuries) or McDermott, etc.) was just a silly comment. But I guess I root for the Bills and not just one player (even if that player is amazing).

I was probably his number 1 defender and his teams played some awful football to watch. But read those rosters he had and it’s absolutely amazing they would win 7 games. I fully believe he would be a SB winning coach if he ever had Allen. Great guy and prayers to his family. RIP Coach.
