Darnold’s numbers have been horrid? He essentially has the same passing stats as Allen. We had a better 3rd down conversion rate with Tyrod. Do I think Allen lays it all on the line and will play more aggressively than Tyrod? Sure. Tyrod was conservative. But the end result hasn’t been that much different. Now, with the weapons he has, Allen needs to be a guy who wins games. Not in the 4th quarter after scoring 10 points all game. Like dominate from the jump, get a big lead, so the defense can tee off and we can blow teams out. I still wish we had a dominant pass rusher but this defense is SB caliber. But the offense has a ways to go.

I think he’s been pretty quiet the last few years. He definitely got completely boned by the Panthers when they released him after FA started. But he was pretty quiet about it. that said, if I was his agent, I’d just say stay silent, put the work in, and make your play do the talking.

He played fairly well but the Saints are a great situation. I believe the stat is he averaged the least air yards per pass. If I was playing Carolina, you just sit on the short stuff and McCaffery and make him beat you over the top. Well considering the Bills scored more points under Taylor than Allen, they might not need him. It’s kinda why I hate the 4th quarter comeback stat. With better qb play and offense, we won’t have needed comebacks last year. Really good defense and a garbage schedule. Those games should have been over by the 3rd quarter.

I don’t really disagree. I always said I wish EJ had the attitude that Allen had. But I think some of you act like he’s some crazy gunslinger and the reality is he’s been closer to Tyrod. Like 200 yards passing in today’s nfl should not be an accomplishment. that said, hopefully with Diggs, the excuses will be done. I want to see an Allen that if the defense slips up against a team like KC, Allen can win a game 31-27. That’s when you know you have a franchise guy.

I didn’t even really love Tyrod either. But Bills fans do this and it’s weird. Tyrod was a solid starting qb and won more than he lost. We did this with Flutie. now Allen has essentially done a Tyrod impression and he is a future star while Tyrod is some bum. It’s weird.

I thought that Dallas Cowboys game was the best of Allen’s career. I literally don’t know any rational person could have any problems with this article. He has been Tyrod the first 2 years - a game manger who can make explosive plays at time. Where fans get divided is potential. Potential means you haven’t done ?. Personally, I think the fact Allen has never been a dominant player on any level worries me. I think he will always be this inconsistent type qb. Luckily our team is good enough where I don’t think it matters that much. I think this is very fair. I had Allen and Jackson ranked equal when they both came out. Some super impressive skills but also some major flaws in the passing game. I will say I’m shocked at how good Jackson is at this point. what does bother me (and it’s a Bills board so I get it but I do enjoy rational football talk), Jackson gets dismissed so much. He had a 5’9” 170 lbs rookie receiver; Willie Snead!!!; and a 2nd year 3rd round TE to throw to. And he won the MVP at 23. After winning a Heisman trophy. Yet, somehow, he has peaked while Allen (who has never been better than him on any level) is ascending. there is a world where both could be good. But if Jackson was a Bull and just had that season, we will murder people for questioning a 23 year old league MVP.
