  1. Good post. Based on his last few years, I won’t bet on him but it’s zero risk. but I think there is a lot of hindsight with Dareus. He was a 24 year old all pro who was on a similar sack pace to Warren Sapp through his first couple of years. Imo, the deaths and his work ethic caught up to him. I also freely admit I give a guy like him more slack because I genuinely think he’s a good guy who’s been through a lot and has made silly decisions. But I wish him well. Haha, still can’t take your loss over the Hogan thing, can you Kirby? I think this is the year D’Rick puts it all together and breaks out. ?
  2. Gotcha. He was a beast. It’s a shame. Personally, I’ll ride for that guy. I want to see him prove himself because imo, he wasn’t a bad guy. He had more death happen to him than anyone I can remember. I lost a couple people recently and it can really eat at you. He got lazy And made some mistakes but he never seemed malicious.
  3. They just put all their resources into defense. It’s better to have young, cheap guys than overpaid ones. KC is going to be really good for a long time. Good for their fans. Excellent point. It’s like the Colts d during the Manning years was based on pass rushers. If they got the lead, their guys could tee off and put the game away. it’s why I’m starting to hate the Allen comeback stat. Against crappy teams, you step in their throats, get a lead, and put them away before the 4th quarter. A good offense can really help a defense. It’s also makes what our D has done the last 2 years even more impressive because they rarely play with Big leads.
  4. Huh? They had the best d line in the nfl and in franchise history. 4 guys with 10 + sacks. I bet that’s happened less than 10 times in NFL history.
  5. But that’s the tricky part in the nfl. Mario Williams, a much more talented player, went from 14.5 to 5 to 1.5 and then out of the league at 31. These guys can fall off a cliff in one year. I think Shaq got overpaid and isn’t a dominant pass rusher. But he is a good all around DE, who is 25 and appears to be ascending. It’s a tough call and I will trust them in defense because they been really good with their evaluations (minus Venison Murphy and Star). But I won’t be shocked at all to regret this move in a few years. Shaq isn’t a special pass rusher but it’s hard to say the 33 year old has more upside.
  6. Yup. There was a lot of hand wringing over the Peters situation. There were arguments that made sense both ways. The Bills just paid him and he wanted big LT money after one season. He acted like a huge baby, didn’t return phone calls, showed up fat and out of shape, and put the rest of his teammates at a disadvantage. They traded him, got a 1st, 4th, and 6th. peters is a HOF candidate but would this team been that much better with him blocking for JP, Trent, and all the other scrubs we had? Fun fact: the Eagles won the SB with him missing 12 games. again, as difficult as fans try to make, it really only comes down to one position. Salute to the Bills for turning an UDFA TE into a great LT and salute to Peters. But so much wasted arguing over something that really didn’t matter.
  7. Be careful what you wish for. Also, if he sucks that bad, you think BB would play him? nothing has happened but these are the championship moves you make. A guy who was once a top 5 player at his position who’s star if fading and doesn’t have great offers out there. These are the type of moves you should be making. There is zero risk.
  8. Our top 2 choices for the highest office in the land are 2 dudes in their 70s who are losing their minds. Good job America!!! and was Saban thought of as a good coach here?
  9. Good point. Lou Saban is known for running a super easy, player friendly program. if this dude is serious about football (and as someone who has defended him, I’m even questioning that), you sign for the absolute minimum, and just work your butt off. He wasted Hall Of Fame ability.
  10. He completed 67% of his passes in his last healthy season (2018) and was in the MVP conversation until he got hurt. again, if healthy, he’s a problem.
  11. Oh, I meant on social media haha. I know people who just complain about people on social media yet they never want to ignore them.
  12. I just say this one but I like Washington RadSkins. Just put a surfer on the helmet.
  13. I mean Wilson had 52 td passes in his first 2 seasons, which I believe is a record. and this is where I get frustrated with the “excuses” for Allen. I hated the Daboll hire from the beginning. His track Record as an OC sucks. But it’s extremely rare a guy gets 3 years with the same OC. That is a huge advantage. mans the question I always ask is when is it’s Allen’s fault? His college coach was Carson Wentz’ college coach. You can argue the lack of talent at Wyoming but he is also playing against less talent. It’s not like a Power 5 conference. Not one person would argue about Allen’s skills. My issue has been is that he has never been a dominant player on any level. He has flashes of amazing plays but it’s never consistent. That might just be who he is. But as long as we canall agree that he has everything he needs to be successful, I’m excited to see the season play out. Huge tests this year that wi let us know what type of player he is. It’s interesting. On one hand, you could have thicker skin. But on the other hand, why deal with annoying people?
  14. Very fair points. I guess the counter is some truly great QBs elevate their skill players. Besides Moss, Brady has made average to bellow average guys look much better than they are. Same with Rodgers. Russell Wilson has never played with a 1st round/ star receiver. but I think this is Allen’s Trent Edwards moment. The Bills had Evans and crazy TO and he couldn’t get it done. This should be a top 15 offense if we have good qb play.
  15. I agree 100%. On a smaller scale, it’s like the gladiators in Roman. Except these guys are paid well and know of the risks. I think the same way when I watch UFC. It feels dirty but I love people getting destroyed.
  16. He was in the mvp conversation before he got hurt 2years who and completed 67% of his passes. Obviously it depends on his health, but I’d much rather have dealt with Stidham: Hoyer. and hot take but Hernandez and Brown were just misunderstood. Bad culture in NE. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/N/NewtCa00/gamelog/2018/ he was killing it before he got hurt. And Carolina has had crap at receiver. Awful judges of receivers. He might not be healthy, but if he is, he’s a problem. For whatever reason, he’s so underrated on this board. He, when healthy, is a top 10 qb. I’d rather NE not have that.
  17. Can’t knock the hustle.
  18. BS. They get paid a lot of money because they are super talented in a field that makes billions of dollars because of them. No one is crying for them but read some of the BS they get on social media or hear some of the things fans say in the stands. A lot of fans don’t care if these guys have severe brain damage. There was a thread about Mario Williams getting in trouble and some fans just laughing at him when it sounds like it could be a much more serious issue. no one should feel sorry for players because they get paid well and know the risk. But they should also look out for what’s best for them and get every penny they can. Sports loyalty is such a joke.
  19. I really like Moss but it’s kinda hard to bank on that much from a 4th round rb before he’s taken a nfl snap. And Kyler Murray played one year in college. And Manning went to the worst team in the nfl. The Bills averaged 8 wins/ season in the 3 years before Allen. In today’s nfl, it is easier than ever to be a qb. You can see it much earlier. Allen has some done some good things but he needs to win more with his arm to be a legit franchise guy. Agreed with the health thing. They are super talented though.
  20. Huh? What did I say wasn’t true? I’ve been to good parts of the south plenty. There are a lot of racist people who love watching football and don’t give 2 craps about the student athletes and their health. They prioritize making money over the well being of the student athlete. It’s completely true. and I pointed out Harvard because they have probably have more nfl players than a bunch of Power 5 teams. It’s a good program and their players are going to be super successful in what they do. If you don’t see the difference in an Ivy League degree compared to one from Mississippi State, I don’t know what to tell you.
  21. The Washington Americans could have some sick unis and they get to stick it to the Cowboys. it would be a win-win.
  22. Haha. Yeah, I believe the specific tribe ones are fine and I believe the tribes are on board. Braves and Chiefs are positive names. The only one I think that is real questionable are the teams named for an idiot who thought he was in India. Buffalo Bill was also a giant scumbag.
  23. A JD Williams autograph??? ???
