  1. If everyone in the stadium pools all the coupons, would they grant the fans a victory?
  2. Everyone seems to want things done yesterday, and if you are in that mindset, please don't watch, you're brain will explode! As for the young guns NOT beating out the veterans, are you kidding me! The 3-4, to me, is a particularly tough defense to learn in the NFL, and overall, they've done fine! The learning curve for Troup and Carrington is steep, and anchoring a defensive line immediately is unlikely. We are indeed building the foundation of a competitive football team, but the dead weight on this team is staggering! Loser mentalities need to be weeded out, and production will be obvious to this management since the tape never lies!!
  3. My early bird prediction about THAT 4th round pick.... they won't even use it to select anyone, you win in this league with STAR quality players, and everyone knows this, so essentially, they will move up and use it as ammunition for a higher 2nd or 3rd round pick. They will continue to stockpile the remainder of the season, by moving one or two other NON performers, and accumulate extra picks along the way. The same will be done in the offseason. After January, the whole issue will be fluid, and exciting for Bills fans! Just wait awhile, this WILL TAKE TIME.
  4. Third baseman Roger Dorn is the character you are thinking of, Wild Thing has a fling with his wifey poo!!
  5. By the way, for you high level conspiritorialist, Major League ends with the rag-tag lovable losers rallying to win the pennant and saving the franchise for the beleagured fans of Cleveland! Pick another movie already because personally, I like that ending for the Bills. Super Bowl baby!!!
  6. I agree here, addition by subtraction, bring on Mansfield Wrotto!!
  7. First off, WAY TOO EARLY to cast shadows on the football operations that Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey have created for 2010. The basic truth after watching the NY Jets torch them is that the cupboard is indeed bare, especially on defense, and you can't run a 3-4 without excellent LB play and a stout NT (see Pitts. and Balt.). Furthermore, anyone who knows anything about running an organization would find the argument that Nix and Gailey are at odds on some points would just laugh! Seriously, does everyone here believe Polian and Levy ALWAYS agreed on issues with that team of the 90's?? Give it time, hell, that's all we have at this point with a MAJOR rebuilding project underway. Will they succeed or fail is debatable, however,I am sure that all they would ask for is a fighting chance!
  8. Oregon has another of Clay Matthews' sons at LB, so I'll say it now, hopefully we grab Casey Matthews in the 2011 NFL draft. Why screw it up twice?? All 6' 1" and 243 lbs. of ILB. Would look good next to Paul Posluszny!!
  9. Cash, I'm NOT implying that Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn't stay with this team or even plays again this year. He is what he is at this point, a serviceable #2 QB who incidently can win a few games in relief ala Frank Reich. He has a place on this team for being a good soldier!! The Bills will experiment with kids getting playing time and Brohm will definately be one of them. No harm in this for a team in full rebuilding mode. GO BILLS!!
  10. The obvious fly in the ointment is Ralph Wilson! The comparison is valid when we are accustomed to the fact Ralph has zero interest in building a winner again in Buffalo. When new ownership takes the mantle, then we will see more clearly where this team ends up.
  11. I smell the change a coming! The bye week is directly after the Jacksonville game, next week, and IF you were going to get another QB ready to start, it will be during the 2 weeks leading up to Baltimore. Brian Brohm should be one of many who get their chance to audition for a place on this team, going forward. Nix and Gailey are invested in the 2010 draft class, so let um rip!!
  12. Overall, I couldn't agree more! There is sooo much dead weight on this team that it is hard to find a place to start. Posluszny can play, but needs HELP around him. I also tend to want this season to be a 12 game audition for the kids. What do they really have to lose? Nix and Gailey know that this ship won't sail straight without a franchise signal caller at the helm, so what if he's matriculating at Stanford, Washington, or Arkansas!! Find out if Urbik can play guard or tackle and give Ed Wang playing time too, as we're all fed up with Cornell Green. Spencer Johnson is NOT getting it done either, so start Carrington at LDE over Stroud and Johnson with Troup in the middle more often. It takes DLinemen time to mature, so let's start the process NOW! So much could be accomplished, going forward, by swallowing tons of pride and letting it rip with players Chan and Buddy are invested in. By the way, BLOW IT UP is undeniably the way to rid this team of cancers, lack of character, and lack of talent. GO for it Bills.
  13. President Harry S. Truman had a plaque on his desk stating "The buck stops here" and so it is with the Bills financials when it comes to these two. They are puppets on a string, but have the owners' ear. The football people in this organization (using the term loosely) are at an extreme disadvantage throughout their tenures, so blame for the results lays right at the doorstep of Ralph for having bean counters run his franchise.
  14. Geez, guys no one said Chris Kelsay! How about that! He's ours for the next 4 years and he is already an afterthought before the ink dries. My list includes youngsters from 2010 draft (they need time in the system) Eric Wood, Andy Levitre, Demetrius Bell, Kraig Urbik, and Ed Wang Marcus Easley, Shawn Nelson, and David Nelson Ryan Fitzpatrick (back-up, #2 or #3 guy) replaceable in time as team gets better personnel. Alex Carrington, Torrell Troup, Arthur Moats, Antonio Coleman, Paul Posluszny, and Kyle Williams on the front seven. Jairus Byrd, George Wilson, Leodis McKelvin and Drayton Florence on the back end. I'd seriously entertain trade talk for Donte Whitner, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch and Terrence McGee so as to "load up" for the 2011 draft in April. The more picks, the better, IMO!!
  15. Ralph Wilson should be embarrassed by this team he owns. He literally gives money away to supposed athletes who steal from him. Essentially, he doesn't seem to mind this philanthopic endevour on behalf of HIS players, so why should you? He truly needs to step away from the everyday aspects of the Buffalo Bills or better yet.... SELL!!!
  16. In the defense of Carrington and Troup, be patient with them because DL's usually take time to develop. I will say this, with one quarter of the season gone, they should play these guys often to excellerate their learning curve! They may be good 3-4 players, in time....
  17. The answer is not only YES, but hell yes!! The roster in 2011 will look astonishingly different, position by position! Welcome to rebuilding 101, they resemble an expansion team, and ask Houston fans how long that takes. God forbid it's another decade!
  18. The secondary would look alright IF they could generate anything resembling a pass rush. There is no pressures, let alone sacks. It is conventional wisdom that you can't run a 3-4 without 4 outstanding LB's, look to Pittsburgh and Baltimore for proof!!
  19. What's the old saying, I can lose with or WITHOUT them, and I'd say sincerely, WHY stop there? The dead weight on this team is STAGGERING!! Lee Evans and Donte Whitner are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to players that need to move on. I'd beat the mortgage that this team, as constituted, will look vastly different next year and moreso in 2012.
  20. I'll chime in here, because this helps define BAD in the mid 80's. ESPN was doing a "highlights" show and they eventually got to a Bills game where by the end of the game, two fans were doing their own wave(nearly empty stadium)with NO ONE around them!! The Bills fans back then showed their displeasure for THAT team with VERY weak attendance. I honestly believe that was why Ralph finally quit meddling for a while and let Bill Polian build an actual football team starting in 1986 or so! Note: I think there were 20,000 (approx.) attendance figures back in those days, IF nothing else, the fans today are weathering the storm by showing support beyond the measures of the mid 1980's. Personally, if the Bills are to remain in Buffalo, I think THAT has to remain the case!
  21. This move cements the idea that we will see Buddy Nix in the camera shot a lot this offseason next to Mike Mayock as the Bills search for the new franchise QB! Path to the draft will be a Bills exclusive!!
  22. Trent can now opt to be a full fledged fan of the Buffalo Bills! Reportedly the greatest 7 on 7 QB to ever "play" the game. I won't miss him!
  23. Real good analysis, and I also agree that Chan Gailey was just playing the hand he was dealt. He will see no upside in Ryan Fitzpatrick either, as we all know, and Brian Brohm will get his moment in the sun. Here's hoping for the best.... or at least entertaining football.
  24. God knows I don't have that type of creative bone in my body, but nevertheless, your prose is exactly how I feel too! Thanks, it was fun to read.
