  1. Trent Edwards is NOT the worst QB in franchise history, unfortunately, he is creeping into the discussion!
  2. That's a whole lot of needs! The Bills should follow the blueprint laid out by Atlanta, whereby, they acquired Matt Ryan and them traded back into the first for Sam Baker. That way you get the "franchise" QB (Good God, HOPEFULLY!) and a bonified left tackle, then you can move Demetrius Bell to Right Tackle. Don't sleep on the Bills pass rush, they need a right DE to set this defense up for success!!
  3. Mr. WEO, you are doing the wrong comparison, the comment about "Kurt Warner" accuracy was attributed to Ponder NOT Locker. It was in the note I wrote below the Locker scouting report. By the way, Locker went back to Washington to keep working with Steve Sarkisian and that helps his status in my eyes. Also, let's see what his completion percentages are THIS YEAR because the bulk of his resume for being the number one pick WILL BE based heavily on his senior year.
  4. By the way, this is a football site and "our" Buffalo Bills are in need, so fire away! The trade is plausable, to some degree, however, the franchise is left dealing with San Diego General Manager A.J. Smith, and his ideas on trades are HEAVILY one sided affairs in the Chargers favor. I doubt that he will allow himself to deal either player considering his vast ego problem!!
  5. I don't normally do this because I believe that Ourlad's Scouting Report has their own intellectual property, but here goes....the newsletter I recieved speaks glowingly about Jake Locker! The terms dynamic playmaker, good accuracy, decision making skills and poise stand out. Additionally they think his leadership qualities are solid. Take that for what it's worth, but remember, this is a team of former scouts. Questioning IF they are always right is fruitless, the answer would obviously be NO!! Note: They only rate seniors, but they love Christian Ponder too. The comment that stands out about him is Kurt Warner type accuracy. Again take it for what it's worth in regards to the "argument"!
  6. Since when is Dimitri Nance the world beater the Packers can hang their hat on? Maybe two to three weeks of that story and they come to their collective senses and acquire Marshawn Lynch or another bonified, quality starter!
  7. It may be the change of scenery he needs, but I think his career is diminishing rapidly if he can't rally up to playing with a Tom Brady in New England! How hard can that be?
  8. In the rebuilding phase, there are only soooo many players "you" can replace. His ticket is punched for 2011, IMO, and his replacement may or may NOT be on the roster, but everyone can say goodbye to Chris Kelsay after this season!
  9. I'll show my age here, but Jayne Kennedy on CBS back in the 70's was one beautiful women!! This crop doesn't hold a candle to her, IMO.
  10. He plays behind a suspect defensive line that can't stop the run! He is suffering the same fate as London Fletcher because it is nearly impossible to impact a game with marginal talent ALL AROUND YOU!! God people, there are enough fluff players on this roster to attack (justifiably!!) so find another whipping boy!
  11. This team is in desperate need of a bonified signal caller, and the jury is going to be out until Trent Edwards is in the rear view mirror! The defense played well today, but as is the case for 10 years now, only one phase (sometimes two) show up and that will lose you football games. I mentioned this in another post, but was there a Jairus Byrd sighting today??
  12. Just wondering, but I didn't see Jairus Byrd AT ALL in coverage. Sometimes the camera's lie, but I sat through the entire game thinking that a game changing play in the secondary was coming. At times, the coverages were extremely tight, but Miami got to more passes than our group, even with the notion I have that our guys are better. They have to be sharp next week, or Aaron Rodgers will carve them up! Nothing awe inspiring, unfortunately!!
  13. Most pundits are excited to see his growth under Steve Sarkisian, (spelling) who was the offensive coordinator at USC prior to the University of Washington gig. I like his game because he is a gunslinger who can run, and he's got a lot of linebacker (fearlessness) to his outlook. I think he will be an outstanding leader at the next level. His arm strength is fine, and he'd fit the non California QB scenario that has plagued this franchise somehow. It would be fun to watch Chan Gailey build around his particular skill set.
  14. The thing that strikes me is the FACT he walked away from $8.3 million on his contract and had subsequent years beyond. That is NOT the prototype greedy athlete we've all come to expect. The lone bright spot, to me, is the issue played out without an appearance at camp, which would have made the situation even more bizarre!
  15. PIZ, I have a 10 year old grandson in Peewee (ages 10-13) and I coach (assistant) and I love it! With Taylor, I am fairly sure that he doesn't love it yet and still doesn't LIKE the contact. One thing that coaches are teaching their MLB's now is to key the triangle or, if you will, the guards and the running back. If he can read the play by focusing on these three players INITIALLY, he probably will be guided right to the point of attack and get himself in the play. Hope that helps some!! As advised, enjoy every moment, they are fleeting!!
  16. Billionaires arguing with Millionaires! As a fan, feel small, VERY small.....
  17. To my dear bride, the later! To me, the NBA is akin to watching paint dry, and who gives a damn about Brett Favre going anywhere other than retirement! Actually, T.O. 's stint in Buffalo was lackluster in retrospect!! I'll vote none of the above!!
  18. I, too, voted Brian Brohm, but that is based on potential, NOT production! The QB race is close to quote someone who knows (Chan Gailey) so the "read between the lines" inference I make is that Brohm/ Fitzpatrick are RIGHT THERE with Trent Edwards. Hence, I am of the mind to follow the axiom that other fans on here seemingly are taking. I've seen the two "experienced" signal callers, and find the choices lacking any real sizzle (more of the same) and Brian Brohm represents a NEW look to a position of NEED! The one thing I don't want to see this year would be musical QB's, so IF one guys earns it outright, I hope they give him plenty of rope before they hang him!! Nothing is worse for a team, IMHO, than a QB merry-go-round. All-in-all, I am hoping for a positive outcome more than a root for X,Y, or Z at any position, let them earn it!!!! GO BILLS!!
  19. Wow, coming off of 6-10, I'd like a "W" please! Any Miami game is a needed win, so 21-20 or 3-0 will suit me just fine! By the way, the blowout is the preference ANY weekend!! GO BILLS!!
  20. What's NEVER brought up nearly often enough is the FACT that with this new regime in place, Bills fans won't be able to recognize the roster in a year or two! Nix and Gailey will quickly realize who is "in it" for the long run and who "mails it in" on Sundays' and the cuts or trades will be made accordingly. Rebuilding is taking hold at One Bills Drive, and that alone makes me an optimist because I believe the previous players and staff got extremely comfortable with LOSING. Change, in this sense, will weed out the undesireable and allow for Nix and Gailey to find winners, going forward!! There will be ample reasons for fans to throw their Bills hat at the telecast, but true fans that dig deeper will see hope on the horizon, IMHO.
  21. Just curious, is $150 the going rate??
  22. mpl6876, there you go!! Now, that wasn't hard, was it?? Every year there are aspects to build hope, even IF it's false hope, but the essential theme here is HOPE! So now it is evident that your true nature JUST SEEPED THROUGH, so run with it Bills fan, run with it!!!!!!!! GO BILLS!! Note: optimism rules!!
  23. Paup1995MVP, I am with you every step of the way! I simply love this team and will NOT be swayed by the vultures hovering around what they believe is a dead venture in 2010. Personally, the ray of hope is alive due to the feeling I have about the last two draft classes. I think they are cornerstone types, and in my mind, this team only needs one or two more to turn the corner quickly. The weaknesses exist, however, they are reasons to believe this staff can make chicken salad out of chicken..... by coaching up guys like Brian Brohm, Demitrius Bell, James Hardy and Aaron Maybin to name a few!! Keep the faith Bills fans, the future is going to be bright!
  24. Quite introspective, but I get your meaning nonetheless! I am 54 years of age now, and I wonder if we are doooomed as "they" say?!?! I have decided to find something about each season that gets me "going", so to speak, and I'll enjoy those aspects along the way. Winning can come IF the front office sticks to their guns and builds through the draft predominately. My goal, this year, is this draft class and the last one, focusing in on Carrington and Troup defensively from this years crop, and Byrd and Maybin from last years'!! Offensively, Spiller and Easley are the targets for me personally with Wood and Levitre coming on from last year!! Building blocks all (hopefully!). As an aside, I do coach my 10 year old grandson, Taylor, while the season is underway, and I find that giving back to the game is a great way to satisfy myself with football as I get older! By the way, I'm coaching him to play DE/ DT and OG/OT..... we'll see how he responds!
  25. By now, that type of information would have been released. I always thought that scrimmages against Cleveland were good for both teams! First off, you have someone lined up on you who has a different colored uniform to hit. I'd like that aspect of training camp to return soon.
