  1. Well....I did the numbers and essentially I'm right! The Bills after 6/1 can cut him and NOT owe the Salaried portion of his contract. The cap "hit" therefore is $3.216 million and that isn't going to hamper the Bills all that much! I say give J.P. Losman most of the March and May snaps in camp and ask Drew to sit it out!
  2. O.K. basic question for the capologists out there.....IF Drew gets cut, the only cost to me is the accelerated bonus monies owed on the cap for the duration of his contract (2005 and 2006 remaining), right? The NFL doesn't have Gauranteed contracts so one can assume that the player must earn his base salary 1/16th at a time. In other words, the game checks for players is one part of sixteen payments (a game check/week) so my feeling for this is Bledsoe costs us simply bonus considerations in 2005.
  3. As sick as some here might think it is, I watched this game the other day with my son! Leon Seals "delivery" sack of Jeff Hostetler was one of the plays of the game for me and Guess what?.... Matt Cavanaugh was "warming up" on the sidelines directly after that hit.....It simply wasn't HARD enough! Can you folks imagine Matt Cavanaugh playing the rest of the game...WHEW!
  4. First and foremost, fans, Freddie Jones is an unrestricted free agent! I, too, think that the Cardinals are the most likely destination for Travis Henry. They would be smart (for a change) IF they made this trade!
  5. The Bills didn't even see the type of coverages that the combination of Lawyer Milloy and Troy Vincent could present them with over the course of a full season! Troy Vincent can still matchup with recievers in the slot and the deep ability to get to the sidelines on deep routes is really exciting. Finally, the maturing of Terrence McGee at left cornerback will probably solidify this group into one of the top 2 or 3 deep patrols in the league.
  6. How utterly ironic that a fan suggests that the Buffalo Bills should have "drafted" Gary Anderson! THEY DID!! In the 1983 draft, the Bills selected Anderson out of Syracuse University. Imagine ALL those years with a steady kicker instead of all the change-over that occurs for a lot of teams!
  7. First off, Mike Mularkey had, by most historical measures, a fine "rookie" season! The major differences are that the Buffalo Bills proved they can pound the dregs of the league, but against a power team in the Steelers, are proven to be more than a healthy step behind! The offseason will dictate the immediate success of this team going forward. Qurterbacking play MUST improve and a caretaker is NOT the answer at that critical position. Moulds has to restructure his contract to allow more salary cap manuevering. A transition tag on Jonus Jennings is distinctly possible and finding a capable 3rd reciever would be heaven! Also, a more mature team that NOW has a taste of what its going to take will likely bode well come September 2005.
  8. The simple equation into March camps is do "you" want a QB who only manages a game or do "you" want a guy back there who has moxie and awareness? Drew is at a stage where he is just good enough to get the Bills beat against a stout opponent. He doesn't possess the capability (if he EVER had it) of overcoming a playoff calibre team on ANY Sunday. Personally. I don't want that type of signal caller running the Bills offense! They MUST give J.P. Losman EVERY opportunity to win the starting QB position from minicamps on! NO QUESTION
  9. Yeah, sure he's 6' 2", but he is also 150lbs!!! Weakling!!!
  10. Some franchises spend DECADES looking for the right player at that position. Ask any Cincinnati fan about the succession after Ken Anderson who played in the early 80's;other than Boomer Esiason, the list is WEAK! The string of failures in that town would make your head spin! Akili Smith and David Klingler were very high draft picks who simply were horrid.
  11. One of your categories is fatally flawed..... A BLOWOUT? Please, let us only HOPE for a 13-10 victory instead because that is ALL you can possibly expect! However, I'd like to see J.P.'s adventure start as soon as he's healthy enough to assume the mantle of STARTER of the Buffalo Bills @ QB!
  12. Anyone who serves in a managerial capacity knows that it's simply about the "bottom line", therefore if this offense doesn't score AT ALL, then changes are called for! This team has NO identity, NO fire, NO playmakers, and NO direction. Obviously, the Buffalo Bills "corporate culture" must somehow make changes for the better. I don't buy the arguement that J.P. Losman might NOT be ready. Alan Faneca of the Pittsburgh Steelers didn't thing Ben Roethlesberger was ready either. So who's the expert here? Not Faneca! Play someone who will bring LIFE back to this weary, tired offense and have Mike Mularkey and staff prove their worth!
  13. This team has a plethora of problems and, quite frankly, I believe guys like Travis Henry and London Fletcher are "playing their way off" this roster! Drew Bledsoe simply has lost a great deal of his competitive fire and that, in turn, leaves him as a relic of his former self. Undercurrents are evident with Willis McGhee also, whereby, Tom Donahoe might be sending a message to Willis' unscrupulous agent, "Don't dictate to us about playing time or expect the concequences! It is high time to start planning the J.P. Losman era, B) which will fuel a lift out of their doldrums by this offense. I don't think we drafted the trio of Losman, Evans, and Mcgahee for nothing! The triplets are ready to be thrown to the fire!
  14. I don't buy the Jaguars talk, the Bills will bury that myth by half time! The Raiders are still highly questionable, and Kansas City and Denver are simply better! I do agree with your assessment on the Rams, although they will STILL be able to outscore some teams. Carolina is offensive line challenged and that might get Delhomme killed! If that happens, put a folk in them! The Jets are going to be 8-8 due strictly to Pennington, NO denying he is for real.... The Bills MUST RUN at every turn, but if it's done, then playoffs are a definite possibility with this defense! Don't get too bored, but 17- 13 finals might be the norm this season for Bledsoe and company! One thing though please, TURNOVERS!!!!!
