  1. No "flaming away" neccessary! I'd like it pretty much top to bottom except for Clarett. I don't think he'll pan out.... Matt Jones might go even earlier than round 4, but if the Bills could nab him in the 4th, GREAT!! McFadden scares me a bit too, so my guess is he's Clements insurance, right? Wilkerson will draw questions about the tendon he shreaded at LSU, but modern medicine is on his side. I'd like a reciever in a fairly deep draft for that position.... Maybe where Clarett is selected in your mock. The speedster from Hampton, Mathis, would be a good pickup to me. Fun draft though, good work!!!
  2. Yeah GREAT, now they only need 9 more starters and their work is done!!!!
  3. "Draft's NOT televised" Ouch, there goes the month of April......
  4. The Bengals do NOT have any scouts whatsoever! It is NO wonder that this team has lagged behind an entire league for going on two decades now! Mike Brown is a pitiful executive in the NFL!!
  5. I've been doing my part, when DirecTV called me about the "deal of the century" sports pack they wanted to sell me, I told them about Empire slowly wasting away and that they NEEDED to examine a local feed through Fox-Sports to allow a window into Buffalo related sports! I think for those of us that miss this option, we should do our due diligence and keep bugging the SHI* out of them and rant and rave about getting something done.... I have!!!
  6. I'd be estatic with Baas and Spencer in round two! Trading Travis Henry, however, is starting to look a bit problematic! The addition of extra day one picks is appealing, but I don't know if it's realistic.
  7. The oddity about Roby was he always wore his watch out on the field while punting. I guess he wanted to track his own hang time! I'm in total agreement with everyone, God Bless Reggie Roby and please bring peace, in time, to his loved ones!
  8. has signed a long term deal with the Seattle Seahawks! The next item today is probably the franchising of Shaun Alexander. This means that the sweepstakes for Travis Henry might skyrocket!
  9. This story smacks of someone being highly disgruntled, maybe the person Drew called out was a member of the Coaching Staff. I think that if this story has truth to it, it may hurt Drew in his search for a starting gig. The NFL is a pretty tight knit fraternity and again, IF this has wings, we could see the "tip of his cap" and his retreat to the Great Northwest as he fades away into retirement! Another take here is that three years ago, only the Bengals and Bills had any interest in acquiring his services, so what has his body of work in Buffalo done to convince anyone (Dallas Braintrust included!) That his "ACT" will be good enough to turn the reigns over to him? After watching him as a Bills fan, would you?
  10. Go to Hailredskins.com and they have mostly updated material on their draft page. Oh, by the way, it's really hard to type Hailredskins on a Bills site, but enjoy!
  11. You're mixing your metaphors slightly, SI.com is Sports Illustrated and the guide you buy is the "War Rooms'" work printed for The Sporting News! The guides usually hit the rack in mid to late March. Another avenue would be to log onto TSN and order yourself a copy prior to release. That way, it is delivered right to your door! By the way, I'm pretty anxious too!!!
  12. Actually, this adds a little bit of urgency to the negotiations with regard to Jonus Jennings. The Bills, in my estimation, want him back, but at a reasonable rate. If he hits the market, I think the Bills will lose him. My feel is that the ball is in the Bills court and it's time to get a deal done!
  13. One point being LOST here is the FACT that J.P. Losman's teammates will have to "step it up" in their game playing! Veterans need to rally this team to better play across the board so the transition isn't as tough. If everyone goes to camp willing to hold the block a little longer or run out the pattern, even if they're NOT the primary reciever, or make the effort on every pass play to concentrate all the more.....THEN it becomes a team concept that elevates Losmans' game. One very important player this year will be Eric Moulds! Less drops and more leadership from him, in my opinion, is essential. Offensively, if Moulds is sold on J.P., then everyone will follow! In Mike Mularkey's second year, I'm banking on improvement across the board... offense, defense, and special teams!
  14. I am the only one who sees this as the tipoff that the Bills have notified J.P. that the decision has been made (he's starting!) and to get his behind to Buffalo, New York? If the learning curve is SO steep, then no time like the present to get started! The "changing of the guard" could not be more obvious, in my opinion. I, like others here, love that type of commitment to the "art" of Qbing in this league. Manning and Brady are examples, and as such, we may have that special guy on the roster right now! The possibilities are exciting to me!!!!
  15. To me, I think that there was a glut of reasons for the Bills braintrust to decide to jettison Drew Bledsoe. The FACT Ben Roethlisberger had a solid year overall and help guide the Steelers to an AFC Championship game gave the coaching staff a chance to pause and consider J.P. in that sort of role. Secondly, the Bills do believe that they have gone as far as Drew is capable of taking them. His penchant to wither against better compitition is pretty self evident. Finally, the window theory is lingering! How many more years are left for this defense? They probably are thinking that 2005/6/7 are reasonable estimates to this dilemma! Therefore, from a strictly football performance evaluation, his days were numbered anyway you slice it!
  16. Oh, this is very simple! When your league starts falling behind such illustrious events as Tractor Pulls and the Dog Show Curcuit, you've bastardized the very industry you should be nurturing! They're BOTH to blame, and they are in for a RUDE awakening when they pull their collective heads out of their @sses! NO revenue from sponsors will likely kill any so called "Major" package on ESPN or other outlets. Then, the gate revenue will suffer due to the prolonged period they extracted at the expense of the very fans they need! Hockey, to me, is on life support and somebody better yank the NHLPA and the Owners out of their Ivory Towers before it is too late!!! At this juncture, cost certainty is a moral imperative! It can NOT survive without it....
  17. I just can't believe nobody here mentioned the "human turnstile", Jerry Crafts! Didn't he singlehandedly get Jim Kelly killed on opening day around, oh say, 1995?
  18. Someone mentioned the flip-flop nature the fans exhibited after the Steelers game.... well the most obvious flip-flop occured at One Bills Drive, if you ask me! That particular decision speaks volumes as to why the Bills believe they've gone as far as Drew Bledsoe can carry them, NEXT PLEASE!!
  19. I've said it before and I'll say it again..... I'd take 53 Wayne Chrebets' into battle and the same can be said for Tedy Bruschi, It TRULY is about winning and these two have "it" seeping out of their pores, for 60 minutes!!!!!
  20. TOUTED! Yes, he's touted to be the #1 QB! So what? Carson Palmer was coronated last summer by Marvin Lewis and he is on the "fast track" to stardom! IT'S O.K. to be TOUTED!
  21. Way, way too early to hang predictions on each team! With free agency and the draft (NOT to mention trades: Henry?) the makeup of this team in Buffalo is just unpredictable. If the Bills, for instance, choose to make a big free agent move, the entire roster could be dynamically altered. Personally, I'd like to think that the Bills will be more highly touted come August/September.
  22. Just for reference, Mike Shanahan was the coach this last preseason who made mention regarding J.P. Losman as having a player on our hands! That's coming from a head coach who knows QB play, without question.
  23. I've seen estimates of cap room in the $9.8 million range, and with Eric Moulds restructuring along with Bledsoe taking a reduced salary or being cut, I think free agency is a player this offseason! The Indianapolis Colts will be up to their @sses in free agency HELL and stealing Rick DeMulling to play LG would solve one problem. One more impact signing should be concievably made and I'd say TE Bubba Franks could be that target! On draft day, hopefully trade Travis Henry for a 2nd rounder and with that scenario, draft OT Adam Terry from Syracuse University. The second second rounder should be a developmental QB with exceptional upside and after yesterdays Senior Bowl, the guy flying under the radar is Andrew Walter from Arizona State. My feeling is that Sam Wyche, Tom Clements, and Mike Mularkey are excellent coaches for the grooming of QB's and Green Bay made a living under Ron Wolf developing QB's that they Traded down the road (see Mark Brunell, Aaron Brooks, and Matt Hasselback). Hence, we are taking the long view, with this franchises future in mind. In the 3rd round, take a Center with great athleticism in Vince Carter of Oklahoma. Granted, he was hurt this year, but that is exactly why he'll be available here. He needs to bulk up and a year in the Bills weight room will do wonders for him!
  24. For the research hounds, I think the St. Louis Cardinals drafted a kicker named John Lee from U.C.L.A., but I'm a little cloudy on whether he was a 1st or 2nd rounder. I believe he went in the 1st from memory!
  25. Assessment to date: 1.) Fine athlete- scrambling ability is first rate. 2.) Arm strength- I watched during preseason and he can rifle the long "outs!" 3.) Decision making- Tends to be a "football player" first and that gets him in trouble! J.P. needs to gather himself and protect himself so he can survive the campaign. 4.) Study habits- Reported to be good to excellent by members of the Buffalo staff that evaluates his progress. 5.) Outlook- With an upgraded offensive line, and a stout running game, J.P. Losman can have a winning record in year one as a starter. Defense and special teams alone give him a reasonable chance. Note: Simply put, this QB is a first round draft pick that both the Packers and Rams had their eye(s) on! Hence, a "few" scouts touted him as "the goods" and that ,to date, is quite fine with me! Let the Jonathan Paul Losman era begin!!!!!
