  1. First off, J.P. Losman IS a Buffalo Bills QB and that ALONE buys him my loyalty! However, I, too, have thought that this trial by fire mode now prevelent in this league is "flushing talent down the drain" due to the unyielding pressures that these young guys experience to produce NOW!!! The point has been made about on-the-job training, but does anyone strictly root for development? Obviously the players on the 2005 roster don't! I think that a "clubhouse" movement was underway only two or three games in.... Personally, I sometimes question the motives of certain players, but winning might just be in high demand in this locker room?! If Jonathan Paul runs out on the field for the Bills Sunday, he's my guy... but if it's Kelly, he's the one I'm pulling for at the beginning of the day! It's ALL about team!!
  2. The question is who do you keep? On offense, Evans is a budding star and McGahee is the workhorse! J.P. deserves to be given time.... otherwise I'd opt for Mike Williams, Duke Preston on the line and see what Kevin Everett gives you at TE. Geisinger is developmental to me, but there isn't tons left for me to get excited about. Draft a legit Left Tackle in a deep class of draft picks in '06. Gates stays in my view to develop behind Willis. Better options at QB are a neccesity at #2 and #3. Defensively, Spikes is a no brainer as is Clements. A revamping of the DT position is almost gauranteed at this point! At DE, PLEASE, a bonifide rusher off the edge. Aaron Schobel never has captured my imagination at that position. Upgrades at LDE are needed too. Jeff Posey is NOT a liability, however, a better player could be found! Safety is looming as a position of weakness soon, if it isn't already!! Baker is a possibility, but I'm not too excited about him either. CB is a team strength now and into the future IF Nate is signed. It is imparitive to build on what strengths one has!! WR is also a strength now and into the future, but the $64,000 question is what to do with Eric Moulds?! I say trade him in the offseason while he still can bring a nice pick or player this direction. Overall, a LOT of work is necessary to retool this team for another run. Two years, minimum, in my eyes because the turnover MUST be huge!!!
  3. Actually, they could have used Mike Gandy, Bennie Anderson, Trey Teague, Duke Preston, and Mike Williams!!! The offensive line for the Cardinals is just THAT... OFFENSIVE!!!
  4. Campbell would have had a T.D. reception, but J.P. slightly overthrew him right at the goal line. He was open too!! It would have been a really nice pitch and catch for the hightlight reel....
  5. Another slant on this game...The National Media and most fans believe that the AFC's top teams are simply better than the NFC's. If that assumption is correct, then it stands to reason that the Bills, ( who went 4-0 against the NFC West last year) who feel that they are to be counted amongst the best in the AFC, will handle a fairly average NFC team regardless of where the game is played! The Buccaneers are weak along their offensive line, in my opinion, and that will make for a long day for Brian Griese. I think the Bills "D" will turn the ball over in good field position for the offense, and make life a little easier for J.P. to navigate towards their end zone! Prediction... Buffalo 28 Tampa Bay 10.
  6. I, too, used to get Shout!, the newspaper that covered the Bills. The Bills Digest is also a way I get my coverage here in Phoenix. I like anything that keeps me informed, so I've always wanted reports by staff writers that are actually there! ESPN, CBSSportsline et al are NOT near enough. The paper does tend to show up around Thursday/ Friday for me out here, so that's not too bad! They do a credible job and have some pretty entertaining features. This topic has come up on this board before, if I recall, and most don't seem to like it, I do! Another thing for me is that it's a "touch of Buffalo sports" and without Empire Sports Network anymore, I tend to come here and "bring up" the Buffalo News and other internet sources that I need NOT mention on this website!!!
  7. I agree that the defensive hold on Greer was totally bogus! If anything Chapman initiated the contact and Greer only gave him a "chuck" that Chapman got around in a second! If they (officials) were going to call a foul, then illegal use of hands (beyond the 5 yard zone) was the only plausable call, but like I said, even that would have been highly questionable!!!
  8. Frankly, the Jacksonville loss was as much a holding penalty on Villarial on McGahees' first down run, deep in the Jaguars territory, as anything Nate did. How about Moulds fumbling at the, oh, say 10 yard line going in? Anyone for Lindells' 42 yard field goal miss? That loss was a TOTAL TEAM EFFORT and they should have won! I think that before the final drive, the Jags "O" had 96 yards for the entire game, at that point!!! As for Nate and the extension, I'm torn between both arguments, pro and con. I think the Bills will franchise Nate and work out the details next off season, personally.
  9. I CAN'T believe that there still exists a Buffalo Bills fan who would even suggest that the Bills should NOW trade for this idiot! WOW, glad you're NOT the GM!!!!
  10. Let me get this straight..... You'll pay me $14.99 to take away the jerseys of your heroes? I guess I can pay postage.... Here's $0.37!!!!
  11. I'd be interested in hearing of who you think the Bills are likely to keep out of this years free agent pool? Liam Eziekial seems to be the early favorite! George Gause is a bit of a curiousity to me... how does he look? From your perspective Mike Gandy sounds like a camp casualty, so did Trey Teague get ANY work at LT? You seem to indicate Jason Peters is "on-the-come", so will he possibly work his way into the mix now or in the beginning of the preseason?
  12. The actual "stat" is that the Bills defense gave up only 4 FG's ALL season in the 3rd Quarter! Hense. the margin in the composite for the entire season in the third quarter was 80-12! It is an amazing feat and I'm hoping that the first quarter this year is their most dominant quarter, if you know what I mean!! (Early leads would be nice!)
  13. Pretty easy folks... Trade J.P. Losman to Dallas for Drew Bledsoe and extend his contract upon his return! Sarcasm- please note!
  14. Willis McGahee is at the stage of recovery (FULL recovery!) that he is NO MORE likely to injure the same knee in a game than Priest Holmes or Jamaal Lewis would with theirs! The knee is going to be sound and it is possible that his speed and lower body power will return to pre-injury form! Frankly, expect Willis to be far better this campaign than the last....
  15. I'll take a "flyer" on Luvale Sape at DT. The news on him has been very encouraging!
  16. Simply a minor point, but the transition tag on Takeo Spikes was applied by the Cincinnati Bengals, NOT the Buffalo Bills!
  17. The kid is an exciting prospect, but he has a legal hurdle to overcome! This player slugged a teammate and sent him flying into a sharp object causing 13 stitches! His draft status was greatly influenced by this "little" mishap.
  18. Oh, my friend, your choices don't do justice to my weekend! I fly out of Phoenix to Chicago and meet my best friend, and from there, drive an hour or so to his home in Waukesha, Wisconsin. We sit and watch ALL 16 hours, from start to finish! I fly home on Monday and resume a relatively normal life!
  19. Just for that added push, as Sound N Fury has noted in his post, ESPN's Scouts' Inc. has reported exactly what SNF has, word for word! I am also a "Insider" and read the same release. If this does come down as stated, #44 becomes a VERY pivotal pick in this draft. It is concievable that the Bills could select Baas, McFadden or Spencer but also this spot could be a trade out spot to add multiple picks in the 2nd/3rd round from teams wanting Frye, Fason, Washington or Ruud! One definate team to trade up is the Green Bay Packers at this slot, in my opinion. Charlie Frye isn't 1st round material, however, he is right in this wheelhouse area to me! The Bills could drive a hard bargain and land #'s 51 and 58. Just a thought!
  20. It's called revisionist history! It has become almost second nature on College Campuses across the Country. I guess there could be a little bleed through on any "open" site like this one....
  21. My friend, I too have a dear friend who lives in Wisconsin, but we get together for EVERY NFL draft, EVERY year! I was going to skip this year due to my wife and I having our 25th anniversary in May, with Hawaii as the destination. Well, I'm NOT going to skip a thing NOW, as I'm truly saddened by your loss! Your love and caring for a close, dear friend has spurred me to fly up to Milwaukee and join him in our yearly get together! I'm am soooo sorry for your loss and will say a prayer for you and him tonight! If nothing else, know that you inspired another to keep a great friendship burning ever so bright! John
  22. Points or otherwise, the Buffalo Bills had the strength of conviction that their Franchise QB going forward was J.P. Losman! It took only one season to conclude that he was NOT ONLY the future of the franchise, but that they collectively "blew a veteran QB out the door" enabling J.P. to take over in 2005. Impressive enough I'd say....
  23. I always think that positional changes are interesting, so my vote is Justin Bannan at left offensive guard. Seeing that he will get tutorials from Jim McNally ALL off season, he may blossom into a player on that side of the ball. Here's hoping that he is participating in the offseason conditioning program so that he is available for all the input JM can give him!!!
  24. This has been a problem area for too long... so I would draft heavily for promising OL's in the draft. The Bills could come out of day one with a viable center and guard without any question. If, for example, they draft Chris Spencer and Evan Mathis, the youth at this juncture will be "very upbeat" in it's potential for good line play for 5 to 10 years! I say go this way and err on the side of potential.
  25. Travis Henry is like a FINE WHINE!!! I think everyone should get the meaning?!
