  1. What's ALWAYS been the knock on Martin Biron? It was the fact that he's been a second half goalie almost exclusively! Don't look now, but I swear that this point of the scedule is the FIRST HALF! Maybe, just maybe, this is the guy all Sabres fans have been waiting for?! I, personally, can't wait to see his stretch run this year, should be dynamic! December has been the Sabres lousy month for a number of years now and THAT seems to have gone away! Looking good, I'd say!!
  2. If the Bills keep "slithering" their way higher in the draft, the opportunity to unite Best player available with team need might manifest itself in either Mario Williams or Haloti Ngata. Oh happy days!!!
  3. The draft is a resource that the good teams use wisely. Most Bills fans would love to have what New England drafted the last five years with Scott Pioli and Bill Billichick landing quality players throughout! The irony sometimes is that the higher drafting teams are just as bad on draft day as they are during the season. The Bills drafted higher than NE, but never closed the gap because poorly run franchises keep making the same mistakes over and over and.......
  4. WE have our winner and it is non other than me!!! Obie_Wan is Tom Donahoe! I knew I'd get ya to slip up..... HA!!!
  5. A brief scouting report on Howie: Felthersnatch, Howie DT Northern Iowa An extremely intelligent lad who's 2.2 GPA ranked him second on his squad. Overall, Howie (pronounced How I..) was in on 3 tackles and had a near sack when Eastern Michigans' talented QB, Tasty Furberger fell and broke his leg durirg their game in September. Howie, a one year football letterman ( former walk-on water boy!) made huge strides over the course of this season. His Head Coach, Rusty Nall (pronounced Nail, but you guessed it!) said of Howie, the sky is the limit for his Professional Football dreams! Other items of note as follows... Bench Press: 110 lbs. Vertical "leap": 3 or 4 inches tops Two cone drill: He nestles into a set every Friday Night!
  6. That seems to me to be akin to the traffic lights being out during Hurricane Katrina! Justifing that writing that this makes things more muddled is overstaing the case. It's just another deck chair off the Titanic, aka Buffalo Bills '05.....
  7. As of today, Brees will be an unrestricted free agent on March 2nd. Hence, NO trade is neccessary right now.....just a boat load of money!! Incidently, the Chargers WILL do anything at this stage to keep him (can anyone say franchise tag?)
  8. If you are AT ALL vascillating, let me put this gently...... Bye Bye, see ya, hasta la vista baby!!
  9. There was an article in the Buffalo News and the photo spoke VOLUMES to me! Mike Mularkey looks about as pissed as your ever going to see him on a sideline...Go look it up from last weekend. The telltale proof that Eric might have been dogging it probably is "in" that picture! Just a guess.... The article in question is entitled, "Moulds is simply forgettable in defeat" by Allen Wilson. For those of you amongst us that are keen on body language, I'd say that that pic conveys it ALL! Mularkey is even pointing a enraged finger at him... PRETTY DEMONSTATIVE!
  10. The moral of the story is be careful who you have a "power struggle" with. I think this episode stems from the benching of Losman and carries weight now that he's playing to garner more experience. Everyone here must understand that J.P. has to be given room to lead. The Buffalo Bills obviously have made that call and Moulds doesn't agree with it! Plain and simple!
  11. 23 eh? Well, I've gotcha by 26 years my dear boy and don't ever forget that things will get better, in time! I, personally, have some hopes for the offseason, and IF the changes are implemented in free agency and the draft as I think they will, then 2006 could shape up to being a benchmark year for this franchise! Every one here is special due to their love of the Bills. Think about it? Passion drips from ALL OF US!! Keep the faith, and know that we are in this thing together, owner, GM, and Coaches aside, this IS OUR TEAM! Buffalo Bills, there is nothing like it son!
  12. Of course they will, we are Bills fans!! The very nature of our being is geared to how this franchise plays, and really, can we ever get enough? The season is almost over for us and I know I'm thinking positively about next year! Nothing can ever take that away from me. Whether it's free agency in March or the draft in April, OTA's in May and June, and training camp starting in July, I LOVE IT!! More Bills football, MORE!!!
  13. Actually, I think that next year is shaping up to be a highly charged atmosphere! IF, and I mean, IF, Tom Donahoe is here, the draft and free agency HAS TO BE PERFECT!! There is literally NO ROOM for error! I can safely say that the Bills will make a pretty BIG splash in both arenas, and will be somewhat loaded for Mike Mularkey to show his stuff! Ralph Wilson cannot be happy, and therefore, the ultimatum will be in place..... WIN OR ELSE!! Mike Mularkey is currently setting the stage for a very interesting offseason in Buffalo. Something just tells me that they will be successful, just my hunch!!!
  14. Another angle for me is that Mike Mularkey MAY be in the process of weeding out the bad to bring in the good! It really is a case of who is running the asylum? I think it's significant that Adams and Moulds are fingered as possible malcontents in a season like this one! The other factor is that I personally like the fact that Mike will call out players for substandard play! I find this refreshing!! Getting the right type of player is paramount to turning a team around IMO, attitude is EVERYTHING! Bad attitudes must go, and Mike Mularkey might just have the guts to reshape this roster in a specific image! That takes time!!
  15. The one play that I'd like the Bills to have back was the INT Nate Clements missed in the first half! Wow, it hit him between the 2's!! J.P. did enough to win the game, so I guess that London Fletcher has NO B word with the offense this time!
  16. AJ1.... THAT was obviously this years slogan! Four TD's in the second half ALL YEAR? Jeez!!!!
  17. Actually, I just found the strength of schedule and on all likelihood we will pick 5th in the first round! If Tennessee and New Orleans manage one more victory than the Bills, that is the draft position we'd be looking at in April. WOW! Revised edition! Houston- Bush San Francisco- Williams New York- Lienart Green Bay- A.J. Hawk Buffalo- Ferguson
  18. Great minds think alike as I, too, tried to predict order of finish! Mine is slightly different..... 1.) Houston loses @ Tenn, Ariz, Jax, and wins @S.F. 2-14 2.) New York Jets loses Oak, @ Mia, N.E., and win Buf 3-13 3.) S.F. loses @ Seat, @ Jax, @ St.L., and Hous. 2-14 4.) Green Bay wins Det, loses @ Balt, Chic, Seat 3-13 5.) Tenn. win Hous, loses Seat., @Mia, @Jax 4-12 6.) New Orleans loses @ Atla., Caro., wins Det, Loss @ T.B. 4-12 7.) Ariz loss Wash., wins @ Hous., Philly, Loss @ Indy 6-10 8.) Buffalo loses out! 4-12 Therefore the final ranking for drafting: 1.) Houston 2.) San Francisco 3.) New York 4.) Green Bay 5.) Tennessee 6.) New Orleans 7.) Buffalo (lucky 7!!!) My player predictions are thus: Houston- Reggie Bush San Francisco- Mario Williams (Trade likely for Lienart) New York- Matt Lienart, Vince Young IF S.F. trades! Green Bay- A.J. Hawk Tennessee- D'Brickashaw Ferguson New Orleans- Chad Greenway Buffalo- Mathius Kiwanuka
  19. The common thread I come up with for keeping Mike Mularkey is that most pundits feel that he's assembled a fine coaching staff overall. If pushed on the subject, I think he will stay, with the pressure being turned WAY UP next year! If Mariucci can be canned two and a half years into a contract, so can Mike Mularkey. Under this scenario, Gregg Williams comes to mind as being under immense pressure in year three! The only difference was that Gregg wasn't anything more than a "lame duck" by the midway part of his final season in Buffalo.
  20. Dave, your point is HIGHLY valid, however, in todays NFL, getting 6 or 7 players that turn around a weak team is NOT impossible! This offseason COULD produce a vastly different team for next year! I'm not totally sold that the Bills can do this, but the evidence is there historically that it CAN be done!! The April draft has to bring at least 3 or 4 guys that can play right NOW! Free agency must do the same! That's why the Bills should explore any avenue to trade down for multiple picks in round one! Denver has two this year, talk to them!!
  21. Maybe the Bills charter a flight to Minnesota, dash off to Lake Minitonka, buy some Cheeseburgers, and walk on water around the pleasure cruise launched by Fred Smoots' boyz, who won't mind a second helping of outta town hookers!!
  22. Me thinks that Jamiebuf12 is right on the button with his comment! Fix BOTH lines and suddenly you are NOT minimizing the actual talent that is on-hand. Losman to Evans is going to roll off of Bills' fans tongues with the same regularity as Kelly to Reed within 2 or 3 years! Bank on it!!!!
  23. Sagging Rosebush will be a third string QB much like Clint Longley in Dallas many years ago! In AND out in a blaze of glory!
  24. I think you're wrong on two of the three, Moulds is probably a goner, however, Mike Williams will be forced out only if he fails to renegotiate his contract lower. I believe he will take a cut. The Bills need to kiss and make nice with Sam Adams simply because huge DT's with his combination of size and quickness are RARE!! In the draft, the 4th pick is likely when this team plays the "run for the bus" game in New York! That slot is a power slot and Vince Young or Mario Williams are going to be sitting right about there! Trade down and rip off the desperate franchises that will mortgage their future for Young or Williams. Denver, right now, has the only multiple picks in the 1st round, so dangle #4 to them for the two firsts and add a third rounder for good measure! In this case, you'd (The Bills) have two ones, a two, and three threes, and if the Bills garner a compensation pick, make it's four thirds!!! Mid- first round tab Gabriel Watson, DT, Michigan and follow that up with Michael Huff, SS, Texas. Second round, pick #37 approx. take Orien Harris, DT, Miami. With the multiple picks of the third round, take OL depth (two picks) and a TE or DE.
  25. In the draft, take Ngata and Watson in rounds 1 and 2, and move Peters to OLT. Sign, at all cost, Steve Hutchinson and cement him at OLG. Sign Reggie Wayne to be the #1 reciever. Re-sign Nate Clements and solidify the back 7 this way! Bring in Capers to be the new DC, and have Sam Wyche promoted to OC. I'd keep Mike Williams at ORT IF IF IF he renegotiates his contract downward! Preston starts at Center and Mike Gandy becomes our new version of Marcus Price ( Price WAS worth his weight in gold when injuries hit!). Start Angelo Crowell simply because he deserves it!! Take a Strong safety in round 3 along with OL depth (preferably a OT). The revisions look like this...Other changes highlighted!! QB- Losman, Holcomb, and **Davey (he comes cheap!) HB- McGahee, Gates, and Williams FB- Shelton and Goldsberry OLT- Peters and Gandy OLG- **Hutchinson and L. Smith C- Preston ORG- Villarial and Geisinger ORT- Williams and Jarman TE- Everett, Euhus, and Campbell WR- **Wayne, Evans, Parrish, and Aiken (add 4th rounder) DE- Schobel, Kelsay, Denny, and Ritzmann DT- Adams, **Ngata, **Watson, and Anderson OLB- Spikes, Crowell, and Stamer MLB- Fletcher, Haggan, and Ezekial CB- Clements, McGee, King, Greer, and Thomas S- Milloy, Vincent, Baker, and Leonard P- Moorman PK- **Longwell
