  1. There was a video clip where J.P. was running for his life and the film had an isolation on Eric Moulds. He quit on the play! Maybe every other team in this league teaches recievers to help their QB by breaking off patterns and coming back for the ball, but NOT Eric! Sad commentary on the effort being wasted by J.P. when things break down and he's trying to make something happen! Oh well, maybe Eric Moulds will be happier in Dallas or Washington or.....
  2. In deferance to Bills_fan, the worst offseason move ever was the chopping off of the legends in Buffalo! Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas, and Andre Reed going down the river was the worst day from a personnel standpoint in Buffalo Bills history, IMO!
  3. In a shortened Readers Digest version, what did this idiot do? I did NOT see this work-of-art piece, so please enlighten the faithful here! Thank you!!!
  4. Man, hope springs eternal! The offseason COULD vault this team into contention! Other teams have laid out the blueprint, it's simply up to management to build this team into a successful venture. Can it be done?? YES IT CAN! Will it? WHO KNOWS?? With some solid draft choices (a banner draft is neccessary!) and a free agency haul might turn the trick!! Don't give up the faith, even when it seems to be tougher than usual. I don't want an empty board here, that would negate our fun!!
  5. There are ways to negate a strong pass rush and the Bills will have non of it! Middle screens and TE's up the seam would help! Heck, a TE check down after chipping a DE would have been wonderful to see. Backs out in the flats are sometimes successful if you've run off the LB's and DB's in coverage. That way, you are simply throwing over the head of a DE who's doing NOTHING but rushing the QB!!!
  6. Jason Jefferson was signed off of the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad! I think that the injury to Ron Edwards prompted the transaction. He's a rookie out of the University of Wisconsin.
  7. I thought that Schobel's strip of Delhomme and the subsequent recovery by Kelsay before halftime was a turnover?! Is it still being replayed by the NFL's crack officials? My opinion, is that the Bills never seem to strike when close to the endzone, and field goals are the preferred way of scoring! It seems that way, at least! By the way, it's always a team effort or lack thereof!
  8. I'm from Buffalo, New York and I'll NEVER quit believing that someday this team will raise that trophy high and ALL OF US will shed a tear when that day comes! I find myself reaching for the free agency list and the draft newsletters wondering how they will take this team from mediocrity to contention! Can't help it!! I practically convince myself that the right moves will occur and next year is the ticket! The funny thing is if 2006 isn't the turn around I'm envisioning, there always is 2007 and so forth! My feeling is that it CAN be done and I'll hang in there waiting for what I believe WILL HAPPEN! Call me crazy, but I'm Tivo'ing next week and for the rest of the year! IT'S BILLS FOOTBALL!!!!
  9. Does anyone here think that the Bills are totally incapable at seizing an opportunity? Why won't this coaching staff take one or two shots at passes in the end zone when they're soooo close? Man, it is sure frustrating! If it's NOT there, throw it away and go on to 2nd or 3rd down! How many long passes were attempted today? One to Moulds that sailed out of bounds comes to mind but that's it!!
  10. I don't think that Jason Peters got undressed today, from my vantage, he battled with one of the games truly great DE's and did NOT embarassed himself at all. To me, he keeps showing glimpses of being a fine ORT in this league. Baptism under fire is an awfully tough way to go in the NFL!
  11. According to todays sideline report, Sam Adams told the Bills that he could play but was told that his efforts weren't needed and he was deactivated! Supposedly, the Bills told him they were better off with his replacements! Stay tuned!!!
  12. we CAN dream!.... Flash to 2006 and our new offensive line that has dominant written all over it! Free agent acquisitions LeCharles Bentley and Steve Hutchinson along with #1 draft pick D'Brickasaw Ferguson at OLT! Something along these "lines" would help SOLVE most of the problems associated with the 2005 version of the offense!
  13. I actually think that it's JUST as likely that he shuts down both guys! I also agree that the secondary is one of the strengths of this team and it is foolhardy to tear down a position that has good talent available! If this team is to turn it around, either this year or next, the secondary needs to be intact, IMO
  14. Most valuable player in the San Diego game?! Hmmm.... That's akin to being the best deck hand on the Titanic!!!
  15. By the way, my aforementioned post is really one of those age old shticks about Archie Manning playing QB for the 1970's Steelers! Would they have won 6 Super Bowls instead? If O.J. had played with the 70's Raiders or other assorted comparisons like that!
  16. The real question is that to truly evaluate this scenario, try swapping Losman into the offense he would have inherited in Pittsburgh and speculate how well HE would have advanced because "Big Ben" had everything in place.....Offensive line, great running game and pretty awesome recievers! In Buffalo, J.P. plays behind swiss cheese by comparison! I think he'd also would have taken the ball and run with it and we would ALL be saying, "wow, wish we'd would have had a shot at Losman!"
  17. You have to give it to Eric Moulds in this respect....he really KILLED the Miami Dolphins most of his career in Buffalo! THAT reason alone might warrant his return, I love that part of his game!!!
  18. I have one thing to say about the suspension being upheld...... GREAT DAY FOR THE NFL!!!
  19. I'm actually going to take a different ilk. IF, and it's a big IF, this team does turn it around next year, for example, would you all think that he would start fighting for the jump ball again, go full out on a deep ball and become the leader we all are lead to believe he is? I, too, believe that years of mediocre football and 101 QB's are enough for any player! I'm not trying to be apologetic for Moulds, I'm simply stating what would be FACT about this organization! Just a thought!
  20. A General Manager, in my opinion, must establish a well run business venture with his product and consumer in mind. The Buffalo Bills could be "run" by an ex Ford executive, as long as he has a staff that provides him with the proper information. One of my points was that Theo Epstein HAS run a successful professional sports franchise and the prospects are bright that he will continue in that vein. If the owner of the Buffalo Bills really wanted a winner in this town, he would simply provide someone like Epstein the organizational tools to accomplish the task. My only point otherwise was that historically, Jim Finks had done EXACTLY that that I had claimed! The premise is sound in my world, with a little bit of history to back it up!!
  21. The BIGGEST bust the last 20 years is Tony Mandarich LOT, Michigan Sate University, without question!!
  22. You say that it starts with Tom Donahoe, but I have a different spin! I think hiring a proven coach (or an experienced one anyhow) is ALL up to the ammount of money Ralph Wilson is willing to pay a Head Coach! The old adage, "you get what you pay for" is appropriate to this discussion!
  23. I think the other factor that was readily noticable is that he's going to get someone killed out there at OLG! He does NOT know how to play there yet! Pure and simple! Will he learn and contribute down the stretch? Who knows! My view is that for the Bills sake, I HOPE he does!
  24. That, inadvertantly, was a statement that signifies that the honeymoon period is still alive and well in South Florida! He's a first year Head Coach in the NFL, and he's saying, look, we are building here!!! The wording was awful, but the premise was right!!
  25. The real questions lie in the trades that are distinctly possible in 2006. First and foremost, I don't think that the Texans are going to dump David Carr. A better offensive line will be the priority! Hence, where does Matt Lienart end up? The package will be steep, but someone will pony up for him! According to Ourlads' November letter, Denver is the only team (right now) with multiple #1's (from Washington). The deal would have to include a future #1 (2007) and players. My best quess is Norm Chow wanting his former protege' in Tennessee! Miami might opt for Rivers, however, I think that they would want someone with starting ability and background. That leads me to believe Saban and crew will trade for Patrick Ramsey. My feeling is that Steve Mariucci has had it with Joey Harrington, and they could be on the lookout for a bonified starter. They, too, could join the Patrick Ramsey sweepstakes! Jon Kitna, if he's the competitor I think he is will probably sign elsewhere in 2006. That someplace else for him might be Arizona or Baltimore. A veteran signal caller in Baltimore might help revitalize that franchise. The same could be said for Arizona ( or in their case- show vital signs!). Cleveland's Romeo Crennel may or may NOT hitch his wagon to Charlie Frye, but to win next year, the possibility is there for Crennel to bring in a veteran other than using Dilfer as he is right now. Matt Schaub is also a young veteran with enough playing time to warrant a look. Many people feel he's ready to run his own show! Veterans like Kyle Boller and Joey Harrington will very likely have to "sit" around as backups in the next year or two and bide their time as someone eventually will take another chance on them down the road. Green Bay is a "wild card" in this equation, since it's somewhat likely that Brett Favre could say goodbye after such a horrendous season. They could bring in a veteran presence too! In my way of thinking, 2006 might end up being one hugely volitile year for NFL Quarterbacks!
