  1. All I know is that I'd love to be your NEW friend! Sounds GREAT to me, have lots-a-fun! Oh, by the way, I've never been on the field during a game! After a practice once (Marv actually scolded me for being down there!) but not during a game.
  2. I believe the play mentioned is the counter trey, and, essentially you are right about the basics. The pulling guard and tackle will pull from the left side to block a run to the right or the same is true if the right side pulls and leads the back around left end. The technique was used heavily by Joe Gibbs in the 80's and a few teams followed suit (like the Bills). The design of this type of pull requires a very high level of athleticism to "get it done properly".
  3. Did I read that right? Heated Bras support good cause... I have never thought about "them" as good causes, however, when this topic "comes up", I'm in the mood to use new phrase-ology!!
  4. Take solace in the FACT that their fans had to watch the Bills annilialate them (Colts) twice EVERY year during the early to mid 1990's. It seems to me sometimes to be one BIG rollercoaster of fun!!!
  5. As you say, it becomes a timing matter and Tom Donahoe would NOT be the first GM who didn't reap the benefits of a star QB in the making. The wait (unfortunately) is half the battle! Those are the demands on a present day GM and he knows it, I guess... it ALL boils down to "will JP Losman develop into what we want as fans, a bonified star at that position."
  6. Your points are well recieved JDG and Ganesh, hence, Tom Donahoe eventually will be on "thin ice" if he continues his trend of QB flops, although it is much too early to declare J.P. Losman that yet... The position itself is difficult to play and, as a result, team fortunes are won and lost with choices made there. Finally, it is NOT so much trusting TD, as hoping he has gotten it right, this time!
  7. How about a long story to make a valid point? In the Air Force, I had a Tech Sgt. who didn't exactly see eye to eye with me.... On my performance report I got NAILED and thoroughly WHIPPED, but he did something that saved him from re-writing it again. He included a qualifying statement that I, indeed, was the worst Airman on the planet, however, if I worked "hard", I might show necessary improvement...Anyway, the point is that Sullivan did use a word that helps him in his analysis... IF!! If Mike Williams is as good as advertised, all these great scouting reports about him being a stud blocker and/or a superstar in the making will obviously benefit the Buffalo Bills and their defense. It's amazing how one LITTLE word means sooooo much!!!
  8. Obie Wan hit on the secret formula.... drafting a QB every year! Ron Wolf during his Green Bay Packer tenure took Mark Brunell, Aaron Brooks, Matt Hasselback, and had Kurt Warner in camp (free agent). The truth is that the Packers showcased these guys during the preseason ( did Favre really need the work?) and repeated the benefits in draft choices coming back because other teams simply can't find a quality starter at that position with both hands!! Look at Cincinnati and their futile attempt to "find" a QB..... David Klingler and Akili Smith come rushing to mind! Those two set the Bengals back years!! The blueprint is there, but organizations don't trust their own judgement on this position.
  9. Man, I HOPE the Stamer fan posts here, that response would be priceless! The actual photo of this guy after someone calls him out like that was too amazing for words... GOOD STUFF!!! As for me, the game time environment reminds me of the fine art of "people watching" in Las Vegas! If other Buffalo Bills fans grate on you, take this as a public service announcement..... NEVER go to Vegas, you'll blow a gasket, without question!
  10. Seeing that there is always avenues to pursue here, if Mike Williams isn't in the plans next year, a trade could be in order. Either an outright man for man, draft pick for man, or a package deal that sends him on his way. My thought is that in this sense, his bonus money has been paid by the Bills and base salary and possible incentives are all his new franchise has to pay. The fact that he's played ORT and OLG in Buffalo "might" up his value. After all, he is still a relatively young lineman.
  11. I just sent this to a young mans' dad, who happens to be my best friend.... his son just returned from Iraq, serving honorably. The words contained in this were marvelous! Thank you for the piece.
  12. This guys' picture is firmly planted next to the word "CANCER" in the dictionary! C'mon people, Jim Mora, on NFL Access said, when questioned by Rich Eisen about the likelihood of T.O. ending up with the Atlanta Falcons, that he'd "disown" his son if he ever brought this guy "on board"!!!!! Furthermore, he stated that there are 32 NFL Head Coaches who shouldn't give the idiot the time of day! I can see it NOW, Terrell Owens going before a Federal Court to scream restraint of trade because this league won't let him "back in" to the fold. THAT, my friends, would be absolutely poetic!!!!
  13. Actually, the part about Philly sticking to their collective "guns" is nothing but GOOD news on the negotiation front. The high profile posturing might go the way of the Dodo bird, and Drew might learn a PR lesson here with T.O. that would translate well in his dealings with the Bills extension for Willis McGahee. He has undoubtedly "taken on water" with the nonsense they spewed in the Eagles direction. Personally, I couldn't be happier with the Eagles stance! Joe Banner and Andy Reid are Executive and Coach of the year candidates for showing this malcontent "where to go"..... GREAT!!!!!
  14. The relatively short history of Mike Williams in a Buffalo Bills uniform has been somewhat "rocky", at best! The fact is now obvious that his future isn't likely to be out on the edge, so question #1.... Does he HAVE TO take a pay cut due to the position change? #2.... IF this little experiment doesn't pan out, is OLG his last move before his uncerimonious departure from Buffalo? It seems to me that the Bills braintrust is ALL but announcing the (permenant) switch that McNally predicted in training camp!
  15. I'd say that the reality of the situation is this... the Buffalo Bills will have a interesting "face-lift" in the offseason! How that impacts Eric Moulds is completely up for discussion. He is likely to be approached about a PAY CUT and that will make or break his relationship with TD or Whomever is running the show! If I'm pushed on the issue, I'm of the opinion that he has diminished skills and is NOT in the overall plan that this franchise is forging. The triplets going forward will be Evans, McGahee, and Losman. I think that with a half year under his belt, Roscoe Parrish will have a bearing on roster makeup at that position. Josh Reed and Sam Aiken are probably fringe, at best, and will likely be replaced, over time. The priority for this team is LOCKED DOWN by a stricking need on BOTH lines. It has to be addressed before the 2006 season commenses. ALL other concerns pale by comparison!
  16. A run stuffer is an absolute MORAL imperative........FORGET IT!!! As is a LT, Speed rushing OLB and/or RDE and a pass catching TE.........
  17. I finally realized I root for the STUPIDEST team on the F'ing planet!! There's NO other explaination..... NONE!!!
  18. I am finally convinced that this franchise needs to completely retool. The city of Buffalo deserves so much better and the organization from the owner down to the ticket takers is sadly lacking! The damnable thing, at this stage, is that it's highly unlikely that the overhaul will be put in place until after the season. If at ALL!!! To me, that simply scuttles 2006 and 2007 if new management takes over, and the management in place won't get "it" done, that's for sure! It is just sad that this team is sooo weak in leadership, no matter what office door is opened! My hope continues to be set up by the potential nucleus they do seemingly have. Blow the veterans out the door and build with youth, youth, and MORE youth.
  19. One of the comments that is MOST disturbing is the "Bold New World" of NFL football....The old guard like Wellington Mara and Ralph Wilson, along with Lamar Hunt have helped tone down the ever present danger of selling out the smaller franchises for more lucrative markets. Daniel Snyder and Jerry Jones are licking their preverbial chops at the huge $ signs that are on the horizon! I'm beginning to believe that the Buffalo Bills are seriously going to need corporate monies in the long run, as the advent of things like the IBM Bills are NOT all that far fetched! This league COULD look vastly different in 20 to 25 years.... and like many here, I'm checking out of that scene without ONE glance back, except video "memories" of past glory for a once proud franchise!
  20. I don't know about anyone else here, but I always feel that there are 3 to 4 players, at least, that look like they are "going through the motions" on ANY given Sunday! Someone questioned the Heart of this team and comebacks of that type take attitude this outfit doesn't possess. For me, it's Moulds and McGahee, or Posey and Vincent or any combination of players that absolutely drive me NUTS! The Offensive line looks this way every other week! I'd say that next year, the Reigning GM better have the guts to start reshaping this franchise going forward! It's in BAD shape right now!!
  21. Good point... and he can take Ryan Miller with him!!!
  22. I've got Sunday ticket and I can't find it anywhere! I did, however, notice that the Cowboys game next week is already "up" on the schedule (October 30th, Cardinals) and that might mean that that was the channel (706, I believe...) that the Chiefs and Dolphins would have been on!
  23. While Lenny P. did a column about the Bills and their offer to Terrence McGee, there was a tiny note in the side column that mentioned that Arizona had released Rohan Davey and that the Bills Brass will give him a look next week.
  24. I believe that a dominant DE would provide an element that the Bills have lacked since Bruce left! The Bills will be forced soon to address the Safety position because Troy Vincent and Lawyer Milloy aren't getting any younger. I agree with the notion that games are won and lost in the trenches. I also agree that the skill positions (sans TE, maybe Everett??) are looking good in the future. The Bills in the next few years are going to need to retool and that can get dicey if the scouting department isn't astute in '06 and '07....Finally, the Bills MUST play their hand from strengths already established and that would be CB's, LB's and the Trio of Losman, Evans, and McGahee!!!
  25. He injured that knee at the end of April during the OTA's and it's been 6 months of rehabilitation, so I doubt that he is going to be activated while the Bills are on a winning streak and tied for first place. Since Euhus is now healthy, they are probably going to "Willis McGahee" Everett this year with high expectations next year! I do remember that a report also said that he suffered a "partial tear" of his ACL. Maybe he is ahead of schedule due to the possibility that the knee wasn't torn completely.... Better to save him than rush him in this instance! As a result, IR is his likely destination!
