  1. Like a horse on racing day, I always have the blinders on and unbridled enthusiasm rules the day! Hey, just me, but it beats the alternative, IMO.
  2. I went in a totally different direction. I wrote Chan Gailey a letter after his press conference and "talked" about a vision of igniting this team again into a true Super Bowl winner! Silly me, but you know what, I did this with Bill Polian, so I said to him (Gailey) that this is a watershed day in the history of Bills football. Try a little persistance in the never ending babble of "should I stay or should I go" garbage! Look at New Orleans, every dog has its day people, so I FULLY expect the Bills to return to prominance some day and frankly, I think it'll be soon!!
  3. Chew 'um up and spit them out is a phrase that comes to mind...
  4. I'll be tuning my TIVO devise to the 704-715 range looking to find the Bills feed and to set it to "record" that days game! Anyone who has DirecTV auto renewal and doesn't do this is NOT a fan. GO BILS IN 2010!!!
  5. The talks with Cowher produced this according to some, he (Cowher) was singing the praises of Chan Gailey and when it became apparent that he was staying at CBS, the Bills, supposedly, turned their attention to Chan Gailey exclusively! Well, they got their man, so let's see who he hires to run the offnese and defense, going forward?!?!
  6. I agree it is players who have the sway to make or break a coach. It is up to Buddy Nix now to find Chan Gailey his team. Here's hoping that they work well together and get the Bills back to respectability! I have a feeling this could turn out O.K. if the QB becomes a player and leader of the Buffalo Bills, we'll see.
  7. Sir Issac Newton in his extensive study of the Bible came up with 2060 as the countdown date to Armegeddon! Plenty of Stadium leases yet to be signed.
  8. Your ultimate point is true, players make the coach. The greatest coach in the world would have trouble winning against upper level talent, no matter the other professional coaching staff. This saying of "he could take yours and beat his", is overblown as I have yet to see the egomaniac that switches sides of the field to coach inferior talent against his more talented squad! Non other than Jerry Jones gave his franchise to Barry Switzer and they basically won with a lesser light at the helm, as I'd think everyone here would opt for Jimmy Johnson as a better leader than Switzer.
  9. It's easy folks, start drafting the next wave of Buffalo Bills Hall of Famers, regardless of position! Seriously, "you" win with talent and the cupboard is quite bare. Other teams do it, so evidently it can be done. I'd say another 8-9 of them would fit perfectly. Obviously QB is the #1 priority, and go from there. Possible keepers on present roster: Byrd, Nelson, Levitre, Wood, Brohm, Poz, McKelvin, K. Williams, Jackson, Bell, and Meredith (some due to upside, real or percieved) Dump somehow: Edwards, Whitner, Ellison, Lynch, Ellis, McCargo, Hamden, and Chambers On the fence: G. Wilson, Youboty, Mitchell, Hangartner, Butler, Fitz, Evans, and Schobel
  10. I don't care about the name, if we hire a solid Head Coaching candidate (insert choice here), Buddy Nix is the trigger man in this equation. I firmly believe coaches win in this league with talent across the board. Marv Levy was dismissed in Kansas City but had a solid nucleus when he arrived in Buffalo. Coaches coach and players play, and the Buffalo Bills NEED approximately 8-10 Pro Bowl quality athletes before the Super Bowl run commences. To me, it's as simple as that, because I believe Buddy Nix will find these players and his choice of Head Coach will ultimately WIN!
  11. Let me take another tact, May God Bless you friend from now on! Don't let anyone steal your peace and joy, it isn't worth it.... forgive and forget! Oh, and look at your lovely wife once again as the love of your life, just as she was at the very beginning! Find peace brother, ask and it will be given. As for the job, God closes one door to have you enter through another.... bigger and better I would say, so have faith.
  12. I haven't seen a total breakout of the Bills picks in 2010. Does anyone know this information, at this time?!
  13. Don Shula has a son who actually made it to the position of Head Coach in David Shula. Try asking Bengals fans how that dynasty played out. This does not neccessarily mean that Brian will NOT be a top flight coach, it's only historic background.
  14. He was far from ready, so this is a smart decision on his part.
  15. I can't help believing that Tim Russert would have been just as active on this front as Thurman and Jim! Man, he is missed because he was one of the faces attached to this franchise. He would have sold ANYONE after telling them about the fans of Buffalo and our beloved team.
  16. Oakland picks in front of us, so in reality, we are picking 8th (talent wise). Find the fastest 2nd round graded player, and you'll have the Raiders pick gentlemen!!!
  17. There HAS TO BE a series of good to great drafts for the foreseeable future. I not talking servicable players (we've got those already), we need the future Pro Bowlers! Look at the Colts, Patriots, Chargers etal and the thread that runs through all of those organizations is the drafting of truly great players. Do the Bills have any truly great players? I'd say the jury is out because Lee Evans (as an example), is only as good as his O-line and QB and stable of running backs and his willingness to strive to be great. IS HE? No, in my opinion, and he is running out of time to prove me wrong!! The league is about its players, and Buffalo needs a vast improvement in talent, period!!
  18. What's his major? Well, he seems to have a heart for youth and families, and as a result, will probably be in a ministry before his life is through. This individual works oversees in ministry and his parents are missionaries, if I'm NOT mistaken. Whether you like it or not, he can bring plenty of people to what I BELIEVE is the saving GRACE of Jesus. I said belief, mine and mine alone, and someone who doesn't adhere to what you'd probably call relgious doctorine is thereby, what, flawed and backward? That's the national perspective in this country, so you my friend, are right by their marginal moral code. Tim Tebow, in my opinion, is going to be a face of an NFL franchise, going forward, and scorn him if you must, but I LOVE this kid, and would be honored to know him. One thing I'm fairly certain of, and that is this guy will work HARD to produce in this league and don't be suprised if he is an All Pro for years to come! As you said, back to football....
  19. Didn't the Bills trot out Jerry Crafts at ORT in the opener versus the Jets? He got wollopped right out of the gate, if memory serves!
  20. Wait a minute guys, the Bills have a history here to consider. Ron McDole was traded to the Washington Redskins because the Bills, at the time, felt that he was over the hill, and his best was behind him. He went on to be a very productive member of the Skins and had more than a few years there. Aaron Schobel will NOT bring a high pick, I'm aware, but his value would be fairly high to a team that believes it can contend in 2010. The Bills, with the right GM and Head Coach might help revitalize his career here actually, but my point is that the Bills and Aaron might both benefit with a change of scenery in the coming year. Sacks are still at a primium in the NFL, and Schobel has produced them for 9 years now, minus injuries!!
  21. Actually, this comment will be met with total derision, but trade Aaron Schobel while he still has value! IF you're going to blow it up and the guy WAS talking retirement, trade him to a contender and get a nice return back. Strike while the iron is HOT, IMO. We've lost with him for 9 straight years, and frankly it is time for Aaron and the Bills to part ways for the good of both entities! There, I said it.... Note: Schobel HAS been a good player here and he deserves better, in a lot of respects, so this weighs in too!!
  22. Wow, The Big Cat, those stats include some extremely BIG plays if Brohm only completes 13 passes, yet throws for 348 yards! That is, on average 26.8 approx. per completion. Lee Evans and T.O. like the way you think!!
  23. One of the adages around the league is a QB can make an O-line look good! Wouldn't that be special? Aaron Rodgers does this in Green Bay and coincidentally, he was there for a cup of coffee before his long and illustrious career in Buffalo. I'd like to see poise in the pocket, NO happy feet, strong throws, accurate throws, and a dose of his NEW teammates striving to make his debut a success!! The players on this team better realize that it is evaluation time in Buffalo, so supposedly, they're all playing for a paycheck. Maybe, just maybe, the team rallies around the new leader sooner than later! Hope springs eternal!!!!!
  24. Crap, at this point of the season how about next year the offense doesn't run 163 LESS PLAYS that the defense HAS to play, by this juncture of the 2010 campaign. Man Dan Dierdorf hammered that stat in the third quarter to death!!!!
  25. Well, 15 weeks into the season, and I have something to be genuinely excited about! Brian Brohm better play because Hamdan is nothing but a certified caddy! For his sake, here's hoping that he generates a NEW friendship with the future QB?!?! Invaluable huh??
