If this mess is true, I feel bad for Lindell, for him being such a professional for us for a decade and having to end up in this mess just to keep his career going. He seems professional enough to stay out of it, and I imagine the "specialists" are somewhat seperate from the rest of the team, but still a lousy situation. I would have still have liked to have traded back to 16, but just hypothetically we'll say we don't, I was still looking at DT Star Latoulilei (sp), WR Patterson, or LB Ogletree. Obviously just judging by very early results, I would have been wrong in these selections, as our scheme alone has made it somewhat unnecessary to take a 1st rd. DT, even though the run defense is still not great. Our original 2 2nd rounders Woods and Alonso are both out producing at a position I would have chosen different people in in the 1st rd. Shows why I'm certainly not a scout or GM. The only other player I would have been really excited about would have been Milliner. You can't account for losing our top 3 CB's, as we already had Gilmore and I was a Leodis fan, but I didn't realize how good McKelvin would be with a sound pass rush in front of him. So yes, Milliner would help right now, maybe even win the Jets game, but early reviews out of the swamp have Rex not fully on board with him, so he doesn't appear to be quite the plug-and-play player that Gilmore ended up being. So long post short, whoever I chose would have been worse than the way the Bills handled the 1st round which set up the 2nd round of getting both Alonso and Woods.

I usually think the re-imagined logos look really dumb, but I really like just about all of these, except for the Steelers, Bengals, Ravens, and Cowboys... and the Giants' interlocking letteringg one is somewhat confusing, whereas the interlocked lettering is cool for the Packers.

The Ross Tucker Podcast has us at #20 today. Obviously this doesn't MEAN anything, but I am interested in seeing how an unbiased media views Buffalo, since we're all so close to the fire as Bills fans and from one play to the next can go from #1 team to #32 in power rankings, in our own minds. I would be interested in knowing what number we would be if we didn't get that pass interference flag on the INT at the end of the game, and we just end the game 0-2, Manuel throws 2 INT, 1 fumble and 0 TD... probably no higher than 27 on any polls anywhere.

Maybe if they feel like Hopkins can get back for week 3, they cut Carpenter for him? I mean I'm no scout, I don't know how good he is, just saying that is a way they could go about adding a player. But I certainly wouldn't cut Tuel for him, if Manuel goes down I don't want someone under center who has been with the team for 2 practices.

Duff's was very good, but I would say the Brew Pub was about 5% better, so if you're out in Depew's direction, stop in. It's not hard to find off of the throughway, if I remember correctly. I will take the best QB we can find, not settle for someone who is the 65-96th best QB in football, which is what mathmatically what a 3rd string QB would be in a 32 team league. Especially seeing how even though Tuel has gotten many snaps in our system this summer, he is most likely in that 65-96 range at this point in his career and we really should be looking for a back-up caliber QB at this point. I'm not really much of a looking back and criticize our past moves, because they made sense at the time, but Fitz and TJax would both make us feel better about our QB situation right now, even though they would have taken reps from EJ this summer. Long-term we made the right move, but short term we really could use either one of them. Oh well.

I have tried listening to wgr550 for the preseason games, and they block the games now. It's just a looped recording during gametime now, of someone saying "Due to NFL restrictions, streaming of this game is unavailable"... I would be extremely interested in finding out another way to listen to the game,, if anybody knows something I would really appreciate it.

Does anyone know how I can get this game? They don't allow for streaming the game audio anymore!

I know sarcasim is intended and I know it's kinda silly to have a conversation about, but the "60th best QB" is a sound get for a guy to throw passes for a week in practice, be the 2nd QB through the rotation in the 4th preseason game, and either get cut or be the 3rd QB on a depth chart.

At least we signed a player with a history of playing in the league, whether it was at a level of success or not... I feel like front offices from our past signs back Aaron Corp or an arena league QB, trying to outsmart the league. I know Leinert isn't terribly talented, but he's probably the 60th best NFL QB, where in the past we would have signed the 189th best guy.

I don't feel like the QB they sign here will make the team, unless Kolb is out for more than a week with his concussion issue. Us pretty much going with Tuel as our #1 this week in Detroit has pretty much insured that we're not sneaking him onto our PS, so that would mean either we PUP Kolb, cut the 4th QB we just signed (Leinart) when the cut down to 53 comes, or carry 4 QBs, which I just don't see happening.
