  1. RE the OP's scenario, I would not take Brady out at the combine, I would let the Patsame draft him... have him replace Bledsoe and win with him, have the Pats think they don't need Bledsoe, and then AFTER we trade for Bledsoe, THEN take out Brady. And I don't mean just a knee, he blew out a knee in 2008 and came back fine, and he's not mobile anyways, so he doesn't even need knees, but maybe mail him some of JPP's foreworks...?
  2. Do you park at Mendon and ride the bus in, or get someone to drop you off? I'm coming again this year, in early August, for 2 practices. My girlfriend attended SJF, and says that the Bills players were rude a.f., as they shared dining halls but we're incredibly rude.
  3. Isn't this "practice" they're doing now completely non-contact? I find it haRd to believe that the Bills doctors, among many others, would pretty much sign off on the injury, saying it wasn't a concern, if it were so tenuous that it would be reimbursed picking up his iPad at off season conditioning program, 2 weeks after drafting him.
  4. Unfortunately, this isn't that crazy of a statement. The Bills STINK at getting talent out of the 4th round. We get players earlier and later, yes, but our 2nd best 4th round picks are pretty much McGee, Brabham, and then you should really go all the way back to a DE picked back in the mid 70s, who played for 11 years... all behind, obviously, Andre Reed. Here'she hoping Cardale Jones develops into something. He only has to outproduce Derek Fine, to get into the top 5 on this list.
  5. The Browns TURNED DOWN the Broncos' 1st round pick for Thomas at the trade deadline last year. I know, Thomas is another year older, and it's a different front office, now, so I mention this not as much as a "they would never part with him", but more as a "what a colossal mistake".
  6. I heard about this on John Murphy last summer, and was disappointed that we weren't one of the two or three teams using it at that time. I'm glad to see we've joined them.
  7. Maybe this thread should be pinned, as the other draft threads are, at the top. That really is all, I don't have any other names to contribute that we should bring in.
  8. Except, there was probably nobody available at QB that would remotely have the value that Lawson and Ragland will have in 2016, so... They are trying to win now, not take a flier on the future and concede this coming season. WACKY plan, but let's see how it plays out.
  9. Let's not rush to judgment, you know it takes almost 20 years to grade a draft. We might end up coming out on the smart end of this draft selection, still.
  10. Perhaps the right move, in the draft, is to fall back from 19 to late 1st round and pick up a 2nd rounder, so we can still get the LB we need before the talent at that position falls off the board, get one of the good DL prospects with our 2nd before they dry up, and still have a bullet in the chamber to get Boehm.
  11. This is probably the best Bills CB tandem the Bills have had since we had Winfield and Clements. Hopefully we can keep them together longer than we did with those two. With that said, if we had a topic of which Bills player from last year was most likely to regress, or have the most significant regression, however you want to word it, I really feel like it would be Darby... And it's just a feeling. Donnie Henderson is gone, and I think he was a major asset to the Bills' DBs, but my feeling isn't just limited to that one single reason. Sure, there are other players who could regress (Karlos, Tyrod, Incognito, Aaron), but Darby's, I feel, the most likely.
  12. He is still under contract with the Jets. Personally, with this being how players react to these types of their team's requests, I can't wait for the Patriots to ask Tom Brady to take a pay cut, and he retires. It HAS to happen SOMEDAY, RIGHT?????
  13. I was watching season 5 of Louie, and came upon the episode titled "Cop Story", where a guy he used to know, played by Michael Rapaport, plays an oaf/bully that has a grating personality. Rapaport (who apparently has gained some weight in the last few years, as I am more familiar with him in roles from a few years ago) looks eerily like Marrone, to me. Has anyone seen this episode? I CANNOT be the only one who saw this similarity.
  14. I think it mostly depends on THE rookie, not the fact that they ARE rookies. Yes, you do have to be on the more intelligent side of players, but most top guys are, anyways. We had a rookie play at rookie of the year level, at a position that is typically seen as taking a while to transition from college to the pros. Rex's system will not be what stops a rookie from catching on and contributing.
  15. Don't get frustrated... we're about to add 8 young players in about 6 weeks from now, 3 of which should be good players, at positions we feel need to be addressed in FA. Don't rush to panic, yet. Reinforcements are coming.
  16. He's a functional QB on a team with an elite defense. He thrived in that role in NY, for a time. It's also a scenario that the Bills hope to replicate with our current defense and QB roles.
  17. Because we had 162 pound linebackers playing behind him, so Maybin WAS d-line material on that Junior Varsity Tampa-2 defense.I was just thinking that we REALLY need to bulk up at LB, so I'm glad this thread was here. We need to take a LB in one of the first two picks, and two within the first five picks. I feel like we should get a 2nd or 3rd round DT, too, so I can see WR being a position, this year, that just plain and simple can't get addressed effectively in the draft. I haven't been for it until now, seeing things in this light, but it would now make sense to bring back Harvin on another 1 year deal, for around 3 million. We have around 5 million to spend, and I don't know if any other options would have the immediate impact of bringing in Harvin for that price.
  18. The Jags should hedge their bets on Bortles, trade back, and still pick up a QB they really like in the mid-to-2nd half of round 1. They're starting to aquire sone talent there, and they should make sure that offense takes flight on schedule, whether Bortles or someone else is on the stick.
  19. So, what is the sentiment... Do we hate Kiko, love him and wish we still had him instead of Shady, hate Rex and Rob too much to notice...?
  20. So, with signing bonuses, do they literally get handed a check for that amount? Or paid in installments over a period of time?
  21. Good point, I didn't think about if it were to happen on special teams. A penalty for 2 minutes of special team work would almost certainly last the whole game, until the other team scored.
  22. Ok, #1, this is The Offseason, so these kinds of wild game alteration spitball-type threads are completely normal, and okay. If this is posted a day before we play NE in a week 17, with the winner making the playoffs and the loser sitting at home, than yes, this deserves to be panned. But right now, with the only other thread topics being endless combine threads, Mario Williams, Cordy Glenn, Incognito, and McCoy updates, this is certainly a welcome change of pace. Don't try to shame people into censoring content just because you disagree with this particular scenario. #2- this isn't even THAT far off base, as there is currently a proposal of a rules change where if a player gets hit with a second personal foul penalty, they get ejected from the game. So when you say: This is already happening, if it happens twice. So the (extremely unlikely) concept of a 5 minute penalty for first infraction, and 10 for a second, isn't exactly wildly out of bounds. It is bringing into the NFL a rule that another professional sports league, the NHL, already uses, so it's not that wild of an idea. However, I would change the rules slightly from what is stated. Since both leagues play 60 minute games, I think the penalty times can be kept the same. 2 minute penalty for first infraction, and then maybe 5 minute penalty for second, than thrown out after third. The penalty would be based on when the penalized player's side of the ball is on the field. The penalty ends when the other team scores a TD. One exception: if the penalty is called ON a scoring play. This keeps the other team from cheap-shotting your QB or scoring player, and avoiding the penalty, as the other team just scored. One cool wrinkle to this idea, if the other team's best defensive player is on the sidelines for 2:00 at the start of their drive, it would make sense to run a no-huddle, hurry-up offense to work the sidelines and keep that player on the sidelines as much as possible.
  23. He's right- in college, teams are notorious for putting the best athletes at FB.
