  1. As a sort of combination of our worst times ever, Belichek will sign Tommy Maddox to play some QB, Rian Lindell to handle the FGs in the 4th quarter, and Maybin to come off the end and not only end Tyrod's day, but the Bills' season. Synergy of Sorrow.
  2. Allowing more points than they score has always been a long-held superstition of the Bills.
  3. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you were praising the Pegulas, I just meant the fan base in general. I completely agree in your perception of how this appears, it seems like Rex was pressed and sold Roman down the river, or else he could get fired with him at the end of the season. Now, he can tell the ownership at the end if the year that he made the changes that they requested, and might keep his job... I have never been SOLD on Rex... but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and see his usually strong defense pared with a strong offense, which based on not having a "franchise QB" it seemed like Roman was the guy to do that... but I give up on Rex, now. He sold this team out to save himself, instead of having faith in the coaching staff and players that he has personally assembled.
  4. IN this is the case, maybe we should press pause on the love-fest for the Pegulas for a couple weeks, and tell them that firing staff 1/8th of the way into the season is NOT how real franchises operate, so their criticism is warranted, but the offered solution for their concerns was rediculous. Now, that being the case, I don't buy this angle. If ownership is upset about execution after 2 weeks, Rex wouldn't offer to fire his OC as a means for improving execution.
  5. It doesn't. 15 other teams lost this first week. We are just the most dramatic toddlers throwing themselves on the floor. Injuries happen, offenses or defenses underperform every week, but the difference is that we keep firing our coaches and front office people, which while they are not all always that great, also has the significant side effect of losing any continuity in systems, which does just about as much towards losing for two decades as a lack of talent.
  6. If you were changing the whole roster between seasons, than yes, I could see a case for this. However, it was Chan's first season as HC which ended in us getting the record to aquire Dareus at #3. If we have 53 guys on the roster playing to lose, and the ones who do the best job of that (WR who drops a ton of catches in the games after elimination, or QB with the most ints), than THEY THEMSELVES are the ones most likely to lose their jobs by the new players coming in. OK, so take it out of the players' hands, than? Chan, now it's your job to start the guy 3rd on the depth chart. In what world does Chan NOT lose the team, because he either has this doctrine dictated to him by management and the players see he has no power to overcome it, or Chan institutes it himself, and in doing so burns every starting player who is now exposed to losing their starting job to some kid draft pick next year who isn't even on the team yet, or even worse, burns every backup player who are off the team entirely when the current starter becomes the backup at that position, thus taking their position. The only thing that makes sense if you are willing to acknowledge that you are dealing with humans and the fact that this is their livelihood and ability to make a living for their families, is to play to win EVERY game, and when free agency and the draft come along next spring, replace those who were the worst players on the roster last year. Would you do your job far below what your skill level and work ethic dictates you can do for a month or two, with a good chance you lose your job in 6 months, and every other employer has clear evidence of you giving terrible effort at your previous employer and can no longer get work in a highly lucrative field? Feed your family on knowing that you're unemployed, but your previous employer has a highly skilled new employee in your previous position that wouldn't have been there if you hadn't done such a bad job... INTENTIONALLY?
  7. Of course Karlos was good in pass protection... most 325lb running backs are.
  8. Well, we wanted to be the Steelers... and they let name LBers walk often enough... though I don't know if they do it on the eve of the season. So, let's see if we can develop talent behind the guys we let walk, like the Steelers also do.
  9. Wow, that one does hurt... he isn't even a "meh" guy, I felt he was truly an asset to this team. Even if Alexander DID outplay him, wouldn't he still have great value as a backup, vs outright cutting him? I mean, injuries DO happen, we need skilled bodies at LB in a 3-4.
  10. I actually don't hate Ian Eagle, and Spiro Dees, but maybe that's just familiarity with them, since they are usually the #4-#6 broadcasting team, and we so often played in such low importance games that their voices play like the soundtrack to much of The Drought.
  11. Eh, I trust Whaley's personnel depth more than a website, so if he thinks this guy we bring in might be better than the guy we have, I give him the benefit of the doubt.
  12. This, surprisingly, makes a lot of sense to do it this way, in case of injuries. We don't usually do it that way.
  13. I don't think his wife has been interviewed on the topic yet, so we cannot speculate.
  14. Not necessarily. He was a 1st round pick in 2014. So that is a 4 year deal, with the 5th year option to pick up at an average of, I believe, the top 10 players at their position, as we did with MD last year and Gilmore this year. So he will likely play 2018-2019 season under that option year, unless we are able to negotiate an extention in the summer of 2018, which is pretty likely... unless something bad happens where we are in a rebuild mode and paying a top 3-5 WR salary doesn't make sense.
  15. Janikowski was a 1stime rounder and he did pretty well. I don't think it's a dumb pick, if he plays as a top 5-8 kicker from some point this season and for the next 10 years. And as far as Rex's being mean to Carpenter, I think he unnecessarily called him out last TC, but hasn't been as bad this year, and I think it was Parcells who was CELEBRATED by making Veneteri who he was in pressure situations by the stress he put him through in training.
  16. I was 2, and I remember celebrating by defecating in the big boy potty. The times, they were a-changin', and I could feel it. I was crappin' proud.
  17. I think that it is beneficial that we will be playing them in week 6,and not 1 or two, as the Chip Kelly scheme and how he uses current personnel will have 5 games to draw from in scouting for this game, and our strong defensive staff should be able to game plan for them and handle them quite well.
  18. I wish Freeney were still out there, would really be helpful now...
  19. When do the options start, after 2 years? 3? Sounds like a good deal, if Fitz is getting about 12-14, Tyrod is worth that...
  20. Sounds like we are building a defense that can be beaten over the middle by two strong receiving tight ends... which New England has.
  21. Donald Jones? He's been on the show co-hosting the last two nights, apparently...
  22. Whether true or not, I'm getting tired of having "Buffalo Bills [player x]" included in these stupid, messy stories... I miss Fred.
