1 - To me, Punter is the answer. Our punter stinks. If we could draft Araiza, or better yet, Trout and they are solid holders, draft away in the 4th. 2 - CB2 is an immediate upgrade if Tre is out for any amount of time. Right now Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis are our two starters. Sauce and Stingley are day 1 starters. I like Booth, but he has the same injury that basically kept Listenbee from ever really playing for us so that makes me wary of him. Elam has issues being a willing tackler, McDuffie and McCreary are short with shorter arms. Tariq Woolen is super raw, but toolsy. I could see Kyler Gordon being a decent fit for us, but not an automatic starter, same for Cam Taylor-Britt. So absent a trade up, you're looking at players with more physical gifts than what we have, but no experience in the D so I'd call it a wash. 3 - WR we're talking about getting the 5-7th best player on the board at our pick and we have #1 and #2 locked up so they would be competing for a backup/slot role as I see McKenzie taking more WR3 duties. Christian Watson is raw and has had issues with drops and George Pickens has all kinds of red flags for starting fights and getting benched for violating team rules and these seem to be the best available guys when we pick. I's probably still take a flyer on Watson though, I like him. Unfortunately I could see GB taking him at 22. 4 - I'd suggest TE might be even more of an early round need than WR because we don't have any signed beyond this year. If Likely is available in the 3rd I think he could be a difference-maker. 4 - Yes, a stud RB could help upgrade our offense but is there a legit stud RB in this draft, like a Zeke Elliot/ Chris McCaffrey type of player? I don't believe so. The top 3 RBs are all supposed to go late 20s - 2nd rd, which means teams don't even have them listed as 1st rd talent. Breece Hall has questions about his initial cut, Isaiah Spiller isn't super fast and Kenneth Walker is a 1 year starter who doesn't pass block - saying these three are instant upgrades over Motor is, in my eyes, more a wish than a fact.

Devonte Wyatt DT- Could this be our #1 Pick?

LOL I'm just going to make up character issues and portray the guy as a domestic abuser and then walk away, that's pretty gross. Read an article, he kicked in a door to a house he was living at with a girl because he couldn't get it, it was characterized as domestic because they lived there together. She was reportedly not home and was not upset about the incident. Now if there were other facts surrounding this, like she was home then I would give some credence to claims he has problems. Show some accountability for what you claim, laughing it off is weak. -
Li'l Help . . .with Jersey Name Swap
ndirish1978 replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in Off the Wall
I don't get all the snarky responses. I don't think it's unreasonable to switch a nameplate. I have a Donte Whitner stitched jersey I'd be happy to get the nameplate switched on. -

I don't think any of the streaming platforms is set up very well logistically with their apps. I think they focus so much on network load that that they neglect UI. You should, for example, be able to look at a movie, see the actors and directors in it and then click on them to see other things they are in and watch those - none of the major streaming apps have that option. Netflix has a "more like this" that is insane; I'm watching Vikings and according to them that means I want to watch Bridgerton, smh. I haven't tried to use the Friday night baseball in apple tv because I cancelled my subscription, but I imagine it should be somewhat like that. Has anyone used Apple for baseball yet?

New Bills stadium deal is bad for taxpayers, according to Yahoo!
ndirish1978 replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Repeat after me "free websites like to push buttons because they need clicks for ad revenue." An article saying "hey, this keeps the team in the region for the foreseeable future and isn't worse than these other deals" gets a few hundred clicks so they don't even bother. They'd rather write 40 "articles" analyzing the body language of Kardashians and how it relates to whomever they happen to be married to this week. -

I'd posit that he's a F1 race car with an F1 engine and a blind squirrel behind the wheel, or as he would put it "a higher reptilian being." Guy is a basket case and I 100% put it on Whaley to not have discovered this before wasting draft picks trading up for him.

Agreed, I'm not advocating for it. To get up to 10-12 I'd say we'd probably be giving up next year's 1st rounder. I'd be ok with that for Sauce or Hamilton but that's really it.
-
I could see us move up into the 15-20 range for Stingley or Booth at CB, long shot would be a little higher trade up (11-14) for Kyle Hamilton if he falls out of the top 10.

If LB Devin Lloyd is available at Pick 25......
ndirish1978 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's pretty clear we have different views on Edmunds, I doubt you will convince me he sucks and I doubt I will convince you he is competent. -

And it took him a couple of years to be comfortable making calls. -

I do, I don't potentially screw the defense this year for a pick that may or may not pan out. I don't think Edmunds is bad and I take issue with people who think he can be replaced with a rookie without significant dropoff. -

ndirish1978 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because our D is predicated on long armed corners who contribute in the run game. The 1st round has a few CBs who fit the bill as well as being outstanding in coverage, but they are expected to be gone by pick 20ish, so you're looking at good coverage corners in the 2nd who don't fit the scheme/body type that our HC looks for and is an expert in. If there is one position you trust McDermott to develop it should be corner, we've been getting by with a UDFA at CB2 with late rounders backing him up. Value for CB is good in the 3rd round with several players who fit "our type" of CB and it would be a reach to pick them in the 2nd. You can't just plus in a list of positions and say "well we need a Guard the most so we draft the best G rd 1, then we take a CB, then a LB." This isn't like madden where you can just smash a square peg into a round hole. If you're looking for an early round G I'd suggest you look at their RAS score because we are dropping the plodding large men and moving to highly athletic OL -

I would pass on the trade and just draft Lloyd in the 1st, WR/RB in the 2nd and CB in the 3rd and Bob's your uncle. No need to trade away your defensive signal caller in the middle of a superbowl window, I'd rather just get a comp pick.- 184 replies

This guy is Marcel 2.0. He has all the physical talent in the world but has no interest in putting in the hard work needed to be a great player. He has had weight issues forever. I'd recommend watching the lockedon pod where they go in on his issues in college at length.

Matching an RFA means you can only sign him to the exact contract the Bears offered. The restructure would be necessary and couldn't be done up front if they wanted some cap relief.
