Serious question - What if the Bills leave town?
ndirish1978 replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think they are moving, but I wouldn't leave it past Wilson to screw us one last time and sell the team to someone in LA on his deathbed. If the Bills survive in Buffalo past his death, they will be infinitely better off though. Please note that I am not wishing Wilson any ill, simply noting that he is quite old. That said, this team is terrible because our owner has no idea what he is doing anymore. A new young owner could hopefully get us a decent GM/HC who could change the losing system we have in place here. If they did leave I think I would hate whichever team they become with a vengeance. If they go to LA they would have to realign conferences again. So I would probably root for the 4th team in the AFC east just cause I'm used to despising the Jets, Fins and Patriots. -
What are some realistic goals

I agree. Unfortunately due to injury we will not find out about Wang or Easley. Brown was a bust already. Spiller is going to need to be something special to convince me he wasn't a bad pick. Pre-season is one thing, but he has done nothing in 2 games, whereas Detroit's 1st rd rb has played well. -
This years' Bills is one of the worst teams I can remember in all my years as a fan. I hope they turn it around next week and we win 10 games and make it to the playoffs, but I think we could all agree that is a pipe dream with the personnel we have now. That being said, we are in year 1 of what should be at least a 3 year rebuilding plan. What would you like to see the Bills get out of this season? Here's what I'd like to see. 1- Empty the Cupboard at QB Start Brohm for a few games. Edwards is over and Fitz started a good portion of last season and we know what kind of QB he is- solid depth but not a starter. Maybe we get lucky and Brohm surprises us. But chances are we draft a rd 1 QB next year. Edwards is a liability and only hinders the development of any of our receivers. 2- Expose personnel who can't play in the 3-4 and get rid of them. See if Maybin can play at all. Let him sink or swim, around game 5 he needs to be left in the game longer so we can see if he will actually develop in this system. The FO doesn't like him, so they could try for a trade in the offseason once he falls flat on his face. 3- Find out if we have any young talent on the O-line Start one of our young guys at RT for the rest of the season. Then give Green his walking papers ASAP. 4- Fire Modrak. Yes, he is responsible for our draft grades and not the actual drafting. But our draft grades have sucked for 10 years. I'd appreciate it if you guys could share some thoughts on things that actually COULD happen. I'm still watching every game this year, but it gets discouraging watching a team you love show so little week after week. At least by looking at subsets in a game I can come away with a modicum of satisfaction. Like saying "hey, Troupe really could be a good player in this league" or "Meredith or Urbik could be a legit tackle."

We need 2 starting Tackles and a QB
-
True. We're worse than we were last year...by a lot.

Trent is a liability. He is completely lost out of there. Some players make the people around them better, Trent makes them worse.

Interesting Rumor on BB.com Message Board

Hawk is actually better than any of the guys we have back there right now and would be able to contribute more than Lynch will this year. -
+1

1- If it looks like a turd and plays like a turd... 2- Dolphins LB Koa Misi finally passes that gall stone.

The question was about Chris Brown. While his first response to the thread starter's inquiry was appropriate and possibly helpful, his second was both inappropriate ad indicative of the fact that Chris Brown is the equivalent of an unattractive spokesmodel who is given a mike and gets to pretend to be a journalist. His response was equivalent to "no, YOU'RE stupid", which is pathetic. A simple, "the team has a policy of not commenting in these cases" is the correct answer. Why would you get defensive about it at all?

McCargo just made the 53 man roster. Just FYI
-
I like Clausen, but there is not a young Qb around who has a shot at developing into something good on this team. Our O-line is terrible on the edges, which WILL affect our running game> Teams don't even need to blitz to get pressure on us. They can sit back in coverage and still pressure with a 4 man rush. That leaves us with the same problem we've always had, a solid, but undersized #1 receiver with no solid tall #2 to alleviate double teams. AND we don't have a decent TE to act as a safety blanket. So any QB starting for us starts off with the chips stacked against him.

Trade a #2 draft pick in 2011 draft

Trade a 2nd rounder for a Guard? We actually have 2 decent ones. Not to mention this team's GM has already stated he does not trade draft picks. -
Bills the Pirates of the NFL (new ESPN article)
ndirish1978 replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't say that on this board. I suggested the same thing last year and was called every name in the book for it. -
Don't be shy - the new board won't bite!
ndirish1978 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
thanks SDS this new board is awesome! -
That's what it looked like to me. Like he was too bothered to talk about the Bills.
-
Appreciate the sarcasm. By definition his job as an expert is to "analyze", not to decline to comment when asked a question. But you're right, I must be an idiot for thinking it was a jackass comment. I'll just be quiet now.

He works for the NFL network. He gets paid to be an analyst. He's not a column writer.

Right before they kicked it over to the game after talking about the redskins for 5 minutes he Eisen asks Faulk if he has anything to say about the Bills. Faulk responds with a verse annoyed "nope". Eisen then laughs and says "They love you in Western NY" Faulk says "They'll see what kind of a team they have" Complete dick. At least pretend to be a journalist.

PRESEASON STARTS IN (COUNTDOWN INCLUDED)
ndirish1978 replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw that. I am more inclined to get the lower level ones, which are only $45 FOR 11TH row. But the site says you have to pick it up at the "last minute service center." Has anyone used this service before? -
Holy Crap, there's a Bills game tomorrow night!!!
ndirish1978 replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll stop by. Drink preference? -
I'm looking for tickets. It looks like you can get decent ones for like 60 on stub hub, but you have to go to one of their "last minute service centers." Anyone ever done this? If not I'm just gonna buy scalped

Goose Gosselin's weekly NFL ranking
ndirish1978 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct. Nowhere was this more apparent to me than on draft day when Corey Chavous gave the Bills draft and A and everyone else was giving us Ds for not taking a tackle. You saw a difference then not because of the grade, but because Corey was the only person to realize that we addressed many of our other positions of need and he didnt think there was a top-tier tackle available when we picked. I don't even call it hating on Buffalo, people in the media just don't care about the Bills. It's kind of like, no matter how many crazy FAs Oakland brings in, you still know theyre gonna suck. I feel like we have been relegated to the children's table in the eyes of the media and they just don't really care enough to do any research on this team. -
Who agrees with the statement by Peter King?
ndirish1978 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has good accuracy. What he does not have is good decision-making. Even a very accurate passer will look like a fool if he reads the defense wrong and throws a perfectly positioned ball into the path of a defender he never saw. He had some issues with decision-making before that big hit he took against phoenix 2 years ago and ever since then we a;; know he just takes the cheap way out and checks down rather than even bothering to make a tough decision to throw downfield when he is pressured. In short, I think Trent has good accuracy short and long, but his pocket presence is terrible and the latter influences the former.
