Amazon announces Lord of the Rings series
Mark Vader replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It sure is. The Hobbit did not need to be three movies long, but it was very entertaining. -
Bills @ Chargers TBD Roll Call

Right now, I am leaning towards joining up with the San Diego Backers. I have not heard if there will be a Saturday party in Santa Monica, but there probably will be. -
My open letter to you all
Mark Vader replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you CBF. I am a Bills fan by choice. Born and raised in the South Bay Area, I chose to cheer for the Bills, because I liked Jim Kelly. Meanwhile my whole family are 49'ers fans and I had to watch them be the team of the 80's. I have been to my share of Bills games over the years, yet I have never been to Rich/Ralph Wilson/New Era Stadium/Field. Next year I plan on changing that, by making my first ever trip to Buffalo. I've been friends with Ken Johnson for years now, so I know where to go for tailgating. Aside from that, I really look forward to seeing the city of Buffalo and having everyone here tell me where to go and what to see while I am there. -
Amazon announces Lord of the Rings series
Mark Vader replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Interesting. The series will be about events before "The Lord of the Rings", but it's after "The Hobbit". So this will have to be all screenplay, and not based on written material. I can get into that. I'm still waiting for Peter Jackson to make a move on the Temeraire series. That would be great. -
11-13: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers
Mark Vader replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, it is. I'm not concerned about McDermott, he's not going to bad mouth his players to the press, that would be dumb. Dennison on the other hand is scaring me. Calling plays that require passes to Tolbert, is greatly disturbing. -
Bills @ Chargers TBD Roll Call

I know that the Los Angeles Bills Backers have set something up that you can pay for. But if it's anything like the tailgate they had during last year's Rams game then it'll be a rip off. However, a friend of mine has a lead on a more traditional tailgate. Once I know everything, I will post the details here. -

I will. It'll be a great time down there.....just not as fun as it was in San Diego. -
Goodwin played today after losing his son
Mark Vader replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, I had no idea. I saw this play LIVE, but I could not hear the announcers. I was wondering why he was so emotional. -
I'll be there. Heading down to Los Angeles on Friday. Who else is going?

Could Dareus be why the players quit?

I'm fine with getting a late 1st to mid 2nd round QB. I want a QB from this draft, and if they have to hold a clipboard for a season and learn, that's alright with me.

Feeling better today, Yolo?

I'm Michigan in football and Michigan in basketball. Not sure what to expect from them this year, although it'll be fun to see how Moritz Wagner continues to play. Could be another scrappy team that could get hot at the right time, just like last year. Although there are a lot of young players on the roster. Schedule is not easy with a possible game against Notre Dame in Maui, road trip to face North Carolina in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge, a home game against UCLA, and travelling to East Lansing for their only game against Michigan State. We'll see what John Beilein can get out of these guys. GO BLUE!!!

What an exciting Saturday of games.

November Movies: Thor, Justice League, Coco, & Murder
Mark Vader replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Too bad. Not surprising though. if Universal had taken more time and thought this idea out much longer than they did, this "Dark Universe" could have been good. It worked in the 1940's when they started the Monster-Mash with "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman", and they could have brought that all back with a more updated and innovative process. Maybe they will no better next time.....if there is a next time. -
I think that's a great idea.

Bennett cut (update: claimed by Pats*)
Mark Vader replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that it matters much to you. -
I see what you mean about the writing, but I still they do a decent job. It would help if the seasons had more episodes, but that's how it goes. Yes, the kids aging is an issue, but I'm sure that won't be a problem. It would have been great if they could have filmed these seasons back-to-back and then just release them on netflix accordingly. Oh well, it'll still be fun to watch.

November Movies: Thor, Justice League, Coco, & Murder

I can see why they wanted to take this series in a different direction. Also, it's not like any of the other Thor movies are devoid of humor. Remember all of the fish-out-of-water comedy in the first Thor movie? Kat Dennings was very funny too. I missed her more than Natalie Portman. No doubt that they were going for more laughs in this movie, but it still paid off. Like Guardians 2 they may have gone a bit overboard with it, but the movie is still enjoyable. I don't think we will be getting so much humor when Infinity War comes around. -
What, no comp pick discussion--it's week 10.
Mark Vader replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fully agree with this. These players may not be super stars, but they have contributed to the team. I do not see any of these players being cut. Compensatory picks are nice, but everyone will have to be satisfied with the 8 picks we have next year.
