  1. No injuries is probably the biggest key. Didn’t realize they were fully healthy. That alone makes them scarier because they’ll be going against teams with backups playing important minutes.
  2. Any time anyone puts anything on Josh it’s met with eye rolls and disagrees. His supporting cast has to help, no doubt, but QB1 needs better reads, ball placement and accuracy on many of these drop backs.
  3. I wasn’t buying it earlier in the year, but maybe the Eagles are the best team in the league…
  4. Who would’ve expected Mike White to throw more dimes than JA today?
  5. There’s someone open on almost every play in the NFL. Just comes down to protection, if the QB sees it, and the throw.
  6. Dane realized he was caught in a mistake on that 14 yard pass play. Instead of turning around and chasing something you have no chance at getting to, just go after the QB there. He actually would’ve disrupted the play if he had.
  7. Josh hasn’t been right since halftime of the Packers game. Don’t know what it is, some suspect a concussion that wasn’t diagnosed.
  8. The one to Diggs on the first drive. A softer pass there and all Diggs has to do is beat the one safety back.
  9. Obviously that wasn’t the layup pass if you’re watching the game.
  10. Dorsey this, Dorsey that, you know who’s most at fault? The players. Josh has missed 2 TD passes, one of which was basically a layup and McKenzie drops another that would’ve extended a drive. What can you call if the players don’t execute??
  11. I wonder how difficult it’d be for Rhodes to transition to safety this time of year. Since he’s not the fleetest of foot, but has vast knowledge, could be a much better asset back there than J Johnson or C Lewis. Perhaps he’d even have what it takes to overtake Hamlin, who’s been okay for the most part, but definitely an upgrade candidate.
  12. Read in The Athletic that Rousseau played 27 of the first 29 snaps against the Pats and Lawson played 26 of the first 29. Just incredibly lopsided numbers given our want for a heavy rotation and goes to show what the staff thinks of AJE and Basham.
  13. Does anyone remember the last Bills first round pick that was a healthy scratch?
  14. He’s been doing well in NY with the opportunities that have been given to him. I was a little surprised Daboll didn’t pick him up after the final cuts in Aug.
  15. And some here thought he should’ve been cut going into the 3rd preseason game…
  16. On the topic of penalties, a personal foul should override any other foul if both teams commit an infraction. “Personal foul on the defense, facemask, illegal shift on the offense, those penalties offset, replay the down.” If the NFL doesn’t want to give 15 yards and the first down in situations like this, then just give the offense the first down, but they should not offset.
  17. Sorry, I meant on the DL in terms of sacks. Those 3 you mentioned and also Tre White of yesteryear have proven more than capable of coming up with a big play on the backend when needed.
  18. What worries me most about Frazier is his (in)ability to change up defensive schemes. His go to and preferred defense is a nickel cover 2 look. He hardly ever comes out of that defense, even when the Bills get gashed for runs, they’re still running 5 DBs out on the field. His defense works very well when the front 4 can get pressure (which defense doesn’t?) but not so well if they can’t. With Von being out, I don’t see any other playmakers on D besides maybe Ed Oliver and occasionally Rousseau being able to step up and make a big play when it’s needed. Neither player is Von Miller caliber and if the defense has to blitz more to create pressure (which they will), that isn’t Frazier’s specialty, so the blitz packages will prolly suck and get picked up rather easily. It’s too late for an aggressive DC who knows how to disguise his blitzes very well. Chiefs fans b*tch and moan about Spags, but I’d prefer his style to Frazier if we don’t have at least one pass rushing demon. The defense without Von was a paper Tiger, always wilted against top offenses, so technically nothing changes. It was always going to come down to how far the offense carries them and we’re going to find out shortly if Josh and the rest of the guys are up to the task.
  19. We need to find another young Von equivalent which is next to impossible given where we draft nowadays.
  20. A point Nick Wrong loves to make in his criticisms of Allen.
  21. Ahhh, a welcome distraction to the Von Miller news.
  22. Just saw that vested veterans have to go through waivers after the trade deadline, so yeah, he wouldn’t make it to us. NFL probably has that in place to prevent collusion.
