  1. I’ve been to a few of these Chargers games and in almost every one of them the opposing team’s fans are much louder. The game against Dallas was deafening whenever Dallas had a positive play. Must feel weird to be a Charger or Ram, there’s no home field advantage.
  2. My mother was born in 1959. That’s all I’ve got.
  3. Keep your eye on which players are inactive this week…
  4. He was getting mugged pretty good and got zero calls, meanwhile the Bills get hit with two that I considered questionable. Refs gonna ref.
  5. Looked like they were consciously trying to get Diggs involved in the 2nd half and the offense struggled to move the ball all of a sudden. I liked the multi-faceted first half approach, please keep targeting everyone.
  6. Which one? He did it TWICE!
  7. It’s uncanny, supernatural even, how almost every defensive timeout leads to something positive for the opposing offense. You’d think McD would learn.
  8. Hamlin is a much better story than he is a player.
  9. It started last year when Xavier Rhodes was curiously active over Elam. Like you, I have to believe it goes beyond talent and potential. Something happened at OBD that we’re not privy to.
  10. If a guy who was sitting on his couch a couple weeks ago is activated over our first round pick, then yes, see what you can get for Elam. It’s over and done with for him under McD.
  11. I thought your other post was akin to “Kyler Murray makes X amount of dollars. If he wants to play video games rather than study film, let him play his games. It’s on the offensive coordinator to adjust to Kyler.” 😅 I see what you mean by letting Allen play how he wants to play though, even if that means designed rushes. I’d rather hand the ball off to a RB than have Allen running by design and taking hits, but we’re just about at the point of “however we can get it done, do it.” He still needs to get better in season with his prep though. I’d love to be a fly on the wall when he meets with Dorsey and Joe Brady to review game film. If we can all see 4 Pats defenders on the left side of the line against only 2 blockers, Allen has to see the same, right? So why run the toss sweep? To me that was more egregious than not recognizing receivers that popped open in the endzone. I want to hear his explanations and what the coaches are telling him.
  12. Im with Wayne on this. You have a 6 year veteran superstar QB who’s not executing the most basic of reads. What can Dorsey do to compensate for that? Call a high percentage of rushes and screen passes? What eventually happens to offensive coordinators who are forced to work with a subpar QB? Allen isn’t subpar, but he’s playing that way at times. Forget about what the money affords him, this is more on him to execute what’s there than it is for Dorsey to cater to a QB who’s not seeing the field well. In the case of the latter, those QBs are usually replaced by those who can. Josh simply needs to play better, but he’s not alone. Everyone needs to elevate their game.
  13. If it happened in the game, it seems odd given the fact he took every snap and finished; not once coming off to go into the blue tent. Just what the Bengalis need, another break.
  14. I think it comes down to preparation more than anything. We all speculate about how much film he watches, but you can’t tell me the All-22 shows a guy who’s in that film room constantly taking notes on different coverages. If Josh improves on anything, anything, I’d like to see it be pre-snap recognition. Knowing where to go with the ball, or at least where you think you should go with the ball based upon film study, would be immensely helpful for the offense. His concern about overdoing it in the film room was that the defense wouldn’t play the coverage they were showing on film. Well if your pre-snap read is wrong, okay let your instincts take over, react to what’s happening, but you can’t count on instincts down after down. Put in the study work and LOTS of it. You have receivers running open out there. EDIT: I also think this is the burden genetic freaks have on the football field. Lesser talents like Tua, Cousins, Purdy, etc. can’t win on arm arrogance. They have to find another way to succeed and that’s through film study, knowing where to go with the ball based on a look. We were able to take Tua’s first read away, where he thought he should go, and he lacked the physical ability to compensate for that. Allen doesn’t lack that ability and as a consequence, may not put in as much prep work as lesser physically gifted guys.
  15. It’s funny how many were up in arms about that Jaelen Phillips RTP penalty. I can find 10 that are worse than that one. Including “hits” where the QB didn’t even get knocked to the ground.
  16. Elude vs allude. One means to dodge, or escape from, the other means to imply or suggest. #grammarpolice
  17. The Eagle’s nest was probably my favorite, but top 5 in no particular order were: Eagles Bills Titans Raiders Jets
  18. We have a defensive HC, but with Josh Allen at QB, the team’s identity should be the offense. That has to be the unit carrying the franchise, not the decimated defense. The offense hasn’t been carrying anything since the Miami win and if they don’t snap out of it, will be in danger of missing the playoffs.
  19. Ian Eagle and Charles Davis, can’t remember which one said it… maybe it was Davis, but who wants to tweet the games to them? Spreading false info to the masses is no bueno.
  20. Which games disprove it? I’m not on Twitter, otherwise I’d try to tweet them out to the CBS broadcast team. Maybe someone else can…?
  21. I think Cousins sees the field better than Josh. I mean, he has to, he’s much more limited physically. He also has a knack for completing passes under heavy pressure. That game against him last year was frustrating, seemed like he was just throwing the ball to no one in particular to avoid sacks but it kept finding a purple jersey. Throw and duck, he did the same tonight against the 9ers. Yeah I can live with turnovers if they’re being offset by TDs on other drives. But when the offense is struggling to put points on the board for most of the game? Those turnovers are magnified. Hopefully for all of our sake Josh and co figure it out.
  22. Well, I was surprised when I heard it and didn’t know how it could be true. Didn’t bother to research to prove them wrong though, just thought “wow.” The broadcast team probably heard the stat somewhere else and forgot to include “regular season.” 😂
  23. They definitely didn’t say “regular season” so yes, those playoff games prove them incorrect.
  24. If you can find three games in a row where Allen had zero turnovers, going all the way back to his rookie season, send it in to the CBS team that called the game this past weekend, because they’re the ones who made the claim.
  25. Josh Allen set the standard for his elite level of play 3 years ago, now we all want to see that consistently, the sort of games he had against the 49ers, the Patriots, the Dolphins, etc. Correction, we don’t need to see that level of excellence every game, because quite frankly it’s impossible, but he hasn’t been playing nearly as well lately as he had in those aforementioned games. He is missing reads, he is missing throws, sometimes he doesn’t know where to go with the ball, all of those are true. Pointing out said truths doesn’t deserve an onslaught of excuse making or name calling from his most rabid supporters. Is Josh Allen the problem? No. But he is part of the problem. To say he isn’t is trolling. And yes, there are other aspects of the offense that aren’t working as well as they need to be, further contributing to the offensive funk. Last thing I will say… When Mahomes has a stinker of a game but finds magic in the end to put his team in the lead, KC’s defense almost always seems to rise to the top and stop the opposing offense from getting the points they need to tie or win the game. The same can’t be said for Allen. When he has a stinker of a game, but finds the magic to put his team in the lead, the Buffalo defense seems to give up what the opposition needs more times than not. If the defense was a bit more clutch, Buffalo’s record in one score games would be much stronger and Allen would have more career wins and… dare I say it… at least one SB ring. It was announced on the broadcast. I was shocked when I heard it myself. It was either “never has had two consecutive turnover free games” or “has never gone more than two consecutive games without a turnover.” Can’t remember the language used.
