This is with the assumption the Chiefs win on Saturday. You’re not factoring in the chance the Bills could still earn the 1 seed, which is with a victory versus the Pats and a Chiefs loss.

How’s that if the Chiefs lose to the Raiders and the Bills beat the Pats? They’d have the higher winning percentage.

Yeah I said that above, we get the bye and the 1 seed, but if we happen to face the Bengals in the AFCCG, Cinci would have a real gripe if the game was played in Buffalo since they theoretically could’ve been the #1 seed if they won their last two games while beating the Bills and with a Chiefs loss.

The argument is only for those teams who had a shot at the #1 seed and if the Bengals had won their last two and the Chiefs lost one of their last two, they would’ve been the #1 seed. Can’t have the Bills vs Bengals in Orchard Park for the AFCCG if it comes to that.

So if KC loses, the Bills win, and the Bengals win, then the Bills get the 1 seed and the bye, but would have to face off against CIN at a neutral site since CIN would’ve been the 1 seed had they beaten Buffalo.

Noticed Coach McD thanked Terry Pegula and not Terry and Kim Pegula. Wonder if she’s still away from the team.

Even though Rhodes has never played safety, I’d have to believe he’d be better at that position than an undrafted journeyman on his 3rd or 4th team but hey, I’m just a guy sitting on a couch 😅

Really don’t understand this. Can’t be that Rhodes has been outperformed by every DB on the roster.

I like the idea of scrapping all results from week 16, thus giving every team a 16 game schedule. Something Albright has also said is on the table. Don’t know how this works in regards to stat keeping though, can’t imagine players would be happy.

Looked like they were trying to intimidate the Bills, to establish they were the tougher team. Not sure how it would’ve played out over the course of the game. I do know if Hamlin was simply out for the game, I would’ve had little to no faith in a secondary comprised of a 70% Tre White, Dane Jackson, Siran Neal, a hobbled Poyer, and the backup to the backup safety in Cam Lewis.

Whatever happens here will set precedent for every game that meets a similar situation moving forward.

I’ve heard that real life Chiefs fans are great, rivaling Bills fans in their kindness, but certain voices on CP mire the entire fanbase in douchebaggery. And they always happen to be the loudest.

The only scenario in which the game wouldn’t matter last night is if the Bills beat the Pats, the Bengals lose to the Ravens, and the Chiefs lose to the Raiders. If it doesn’t play out exactly like this, I’m all for the coin toss to determine the 1 seed versus just handing it to KC because the game went down as a no contest. EDIT: Actually in this scenario it’d matter to the Bengals because the Ravens could potentially win the division on the coin flip. It won’t be fair to any team it looks like, whatever is decided.

Yeah, the Chiefs will have the 1 seed if they win Sunday. Let me ask this question… is it possible for me to care greatly for what happens to Hamlin and ALSO care who gets the 1 seed? Is it possible to do both? Some of you are acting as though it’s an either/or situation.

The only ones who would retire are those who already had retirement on the brain and maybe needed something to push them to commit. For all else, football goes on as usual. If they weren’t playing, someone else would be on the field.

Cincy also jumped on KC with a 14-3 lead before needing a Travis Kelce fumble to win the game. I do think if Taron couldn’t come back, we would’ve been in trouble with Siran at nickel. The corners were Tre White, Dane Jackson, and Siran Nickel. Elam was on the bench, Rhodes was inactive. It’s on the coaches for not cross training others to play nickel at a higher level than Siran Neal. We drafted a first round corner and we don’t play him.

Some just want to talk football. It is possible to be concerned for Hamlin’s condition while posting about other things/players. Doing so doesn’t lessen the concern for #3.

The point you’re making is post traumatic stress, the horror of seeing what’s happening on the field and having that in the back of your mind whenever the next tackle needs to be made. Players have experienced gruesome injuries before, though a chance with death may not have been part of the equation. Seeing someone’s ankle bent the other way, leg bent at angles it isn’t supposed to go, I mean, the list goes on and on but players know what they’re signing up for. Let’s all hope and pray Damar makes it through okay and that death isn’t his outcome. But if you think the Bills as a team will just forfeit the rest of the season because their mindset isn’t where it needs to be, I’m not buying it.

Hamlin is still alive and hopefully pulls through. The other two lost their family member. Can’t believe you’d suggest one is easier to accept than the other.

Everyone processes grief differently. Remember Favre playing after his father died? Dawson Knox this season after losing his brother? Not playing may make it worse because all you have is time to dwell on it.

Siran always gets torched whenever he’s on the field. You’d think with a first round CB on the bench, the Bills would’ve found a way to get Elam out there when Johnson went out. If none of White, Jackson, or Elam have the versatility to move inside to nickel, then shame on the coaches for not cross training.

The Butterfly Effect, I think about it after catastrophic situations. How one single scenario in the day would’ve led to a different outcome. If that stupid college game hadn’t delayed kickoff 15 mins. If Josh and Beasley connected on that pass the same play to Higgins wouldn’t have happened at that exact moment. Man. Prayers to Hamlin, his family, and to the rest of the Bills breathern.

Absolutely unprecedented season in regards to injury. Never seen anything like it.
