  1. Beane didn’t say he’d be inactive for the game. He said he’ll leave it up to McD as far as how much he plays (or if he doesn’t). Only thing Rasul might miss this week is the walk-through today.
  2. Used to be. They’re much fewer now post pandemic.
  3. As evidence by the Edmunds contract. If Johnson leaves in FA next year they’ll likely get a comp pick for him anyway.
  4. I’m not usually a trade for this guy! Trade for that one! Sort of person, but if Beane sits on his hands and does nothing, considering the injuries we have and the inevitability of a weaker roster once these contracts start escalating next year, I’ll lose all faith in him. It’s not like he’s a strong drafter anyway.
  5. So predictable, I called it in the offseason. I thought it would take about 4-6 games though, but they were already on him by game 2. Whoever pushed for him on the Bears pro personnel department should be fired.
  6. If he does get moved, I only want a player for player deal, no draft picks. Take a disappointing pick off of another team and hope he’s our second chapter of Jerry Hughes vs Kelvin Sheppard. DT Mazi Smith, CB Emmanuel Forbes, LB Devin Lloyd, etc.
  7. Thats how it happened too, late to the play and someone fell into his leg.
  8. I’ve been to a few of these Chargers games and in almost every one of them the opposing team’s fans are much louder. The game against Dallas was deafening whenever Dallas had a positive play. Must feel weird to be a Charger or Ram, there’s no home field advantage.
  9. My mother was born in 1959. That’s all I’ve got.
  10. Keep your eye on which players are inactive this week…
  11. He was getting mugged pretty good and got zero calls, meanwhile the Bills get hit with two that I considered questionable. Refs gonna ref.
  12. Looked like they were consciously trying to get Diggs involved in the 2nd half and the offense struggled to move the ball all of a sudden. I liked the multi-faceted first half approach, please keep targeting everyone.
  13. Which one? He did it TWICE!
  14. It’s uncanny, supernatural even, how almost every defensive timeout leads to something positive for the opposing offense. You’d think McD would learn.
  15. Hamlin is a much better story than he is a player.
  16. It started last year when Xavier Rhodes was curiously active over Elam. Like you, I have to believe it goes beyond talent and potential. Something happened at OBD that we’re not privy to.
  17. If a guy who was sitting on his couch a couple weeks ago is activated over our first round pick, then yes, see what you can get for Elam. It’s over and done with for him under McD.
  18. I thought your other post was akin to “Kyler Murray makes X amount of dollars. If he wants to play video games rather than study film, let him play his games. It’s on the offensive coordinator to adjust to Kyler.” 😅 I see what you mean by letting Allen play how he wants to play though, even if that means designed rushes. I’d rather hand the ball off to a RB than have Allen running by design and taking hits, but we’re just about at the point of “however we can get it done, do it.” He still needs to get better in season with his prep though. I’d love to be a fly on the wall when he meets with Dorsey and Joe Brady to review game film. If we can all see 4 Pats defenders on the left side of the line against only 2 blockers, Allen has to see the same, right? So why run the toss sweep? To me that was more egregious than not recognizing receivers that popped open in the endzone. I want to hear his explanations and what the coaches are telling him.
  19. Im with Wayne on this. You have a 6 year veteran superstar QB who’s not executing the most basic of reads. What can Dorsey do to compensate for that? Call a high percentage of rushes and screen passes? What eventually happens to offensive coordinators who are forced to work with a subpar QB? Allen isn’t subpar, but he’s playing that way at times. Forget about what the money affords him, this is more on him to execute what’s there than it is for Dorsey to cater to a QB who’s not seeing the field well. In the case of the latter, those QBs are usually replaced by those who can. Josh simply needs to play better, but he’s not alone. Everyone needs to elevate their game.
  20. If it happened in the game, it seems odd given the fact he took every snap and finished; not once coming off to go into the blue tent. Just what the Bengalis need, another break.
  21. I think it comes down to preparation more than anything. We all speculate about how much film he watches, but you can’t tell me the All-22 shows a guy who’s in that film room constantly taking notes on different coverages. If Josh improves on anything, anything, I’d like to see it be pre-snap recognition. Knowing where to go with the ball, or at least where you think you should go with the ball based upon film study, would be immensely helpful for the offense. His concern about overdoing it in the film room was that the defense wouldn’t play the coverage they were showing on film. Well if your pre-snap read is wrong, okay let your instincts take over, react to what’s happening, but you can’t count on instincts down after down. Put in the study work and LOTS of it. You have receivers running open out there. EDIT: I also think this is the burden genetic freaks have on the football field. Lesser talents like Tua, Cousins, Purdy, etc. can’t win on arm arrogance. They have to find another way to succeed and that’s through film study, knowing where to go with the ball based on a look. We were able to take Tua’s first read away, where he thought he should go, and he lacked the physical ability to compensate for that. Allen doesn’t lack that ability and as a consequence, may not put in as much prep work as lesser physically gifted guys.
  22. It’s funny how many were up in arms about that Jaelen Phillips RTP penalty. I can find 10 that are worse than that one. Including “hits” where the QB didn’t even get knocked to the ground.
  23. Elude vs allude. One means to dodge, or escape from, the other means to imply or suggest. #grammarpolice
  24. The Eagle’s nest was probably my favorite, but top 5 in no particular order were: Eagles Bills Titans Raiders Jets
