  1. Huh? Where did I say that it was? Why is this particular thread such garbage?
  2. And something about “they’ve evolved.”
  3. And yet - they just signed a street FA in the hopes that he will step into that role by early season. And cut outright the guy who was taking starter's reps in the preseason. Hope is not a plan.
  4. Again, you are inferring from what happened that it must have been their plan all along. If Edmunds made game-changing plays - INTs, forced fumbles, sacks - do you think they would've let him walk without aggressively trying to re-sign him? If the answer to the above is "yes," what is that based on? They used expensive draft capital on him and talked him up constantly during his tenure here. If the answer to the above is "no," then why did they draft him in the first place? And why didn't they do a more thorough job finding his replacement before dumpster-diving through the $1 CD bin less than 2 weeks away from the season opener? If their view has really "evolved," as you say, there is little evidence of that other than the secret wish that the front office always has a perfect plan.
  5. Sorry but these are just poor takes. If McBeane agreed that MLB is the least-important position in the defense, they would not have invested such high draft capital in him to begin with. Edmunds underperformed relative to their expectations (lack of big plays) or they likely would've found a way to pay him at the expense of, for example, Ed Oliver. And had they done that, the same group of us would've been criticizing the contract and a group of fans like yourself would be replying with, "Well, McBeane obviously prioritizes MLB for their defenses and who are you mere mortals to be questioning them?" I don't mean to pick on you but these tautological arguments become exhausting - "X happened, therefore McBeane must have wanted X to happen." If McBeane truly believes MLB lacks importance than Edmunds was an objectively terrible draft pick.
  6. No it will not. He is now a veteran who has washed out of one of the weakest OL groups in the NFL (Arizona). Completely unlike Teller who, as Beane admitted in yesterday's PC, they simply did not give enough time to develop.
  7. This thread has rotted.
  8. Kirksey is exactly what you need at MLB when you’re paying premium QB rates. Like, exactly.
  9. About as good at catching things as Captain Hook so…
  10. Too bad about Broeker, I liked him coming out, but Anderson and Van Denmark were better options for 23 and 24. Wouldn't be shocked if Broeker finds his way back here during the season as Houston churns through the bottom of its roster.
  11. He gonna practice against himself?
  12. I will be super disappointed if Anderson gets released in favor of keeping an extra special teamer. Do NOT make this mistake again Beane, you’ve got 2-3 super talented OL prospects who will immediately get scooped up by other teams if the Bills try to sneak them through waivers. The right approach for the future is to make sure we keep them.
  13. Awuzie and Hendrickson were grand slams for them - bargain FAs at premium positions who have overachieved relative to their contracts.
  14. Their “process” is to operate efficiently by finding bargains in FA and Bruce Tobin has executed that plan to perfection. Squandering money on free agent busts like Beane has would not fly under Mike Brown. Not saying I’d prefer to do things their way but again, their pro personnel folks have run circles around Beane. They also take chances on bad characters who fall during the draft and that has worked out fairly well for them too.
  15. The Boston strip clubs are horrible.
  16. Maybe not as an organization but their threadbare pro personnel dept has been running circles around Beane’s for several years now, objective fact, look at the FA hits they’ve had compared to our misses.
  17. The Creed Humphrey Truthers are howling at the moon… Because it was the correct position to swing for. If you don’t have a QB there is no other use of a high draft pick.
  18. This is fair. If you're going to whiff in the draft, at least do so on a premium position like passrusher.
  19. No. The point was about timing. I was responding to a post about other teams catching up while the Bills' drafts have floundered. Beane absolutely crapped the bed with the 2022 draft, and the jury is still out on the 2021 draft. In the meantime, AFC competitors like the Chiefs and Jets have been nailing their drafts. And now the bill on Allen's deal is coming due. Yes all GMs have whiffs. But Beane has picked a bad time to screw up his drafts, to say nothing about his numerous pro personnel misses.
  20. Last year the Jets drafted two All Pros in Round 1 and the Bills drafted a 4th string corner. Allen is saving Beane's job right now.
  21. Beane has been tossing his 2nd round picks in the garbage since he became GM.
  22. Beane has been throwing his 2nd round picks in the garbage since he took over as GM.
  23. I could see him stepping in after a Fields scrambling injury and keeping the job.
  24. The Keenum Conundrum has been solved!
  25. Wait WHAT? MLBs should be judged on the ranking of the defense they’re in? Since when does a defense’s ranking depend on the quality of its middle backer, literally the least important position in a defense? Good coverage MLBs don’t get to make many INTs? This is mind-boggling. You’re saying Edmunds’ lack of INTs is a result of his reputation for being such a ballhawk? Now I’ve heard it all. Edmunds would’ve been better off in a MORE instinctive position? The guy’s biggest problem is his LACK of instincts. Even when the Bills had him blitz he was epically unproductive. These are some really odd takes.
