  1. At the time, it was widely known that Benjamin was a fat toad in a league trending towards speed and versatility, and that the team that drafted him was ready to cut ties. What else was there to know? It was a horrible trade both in its strategy and its outcome.
  2. I think his point about Ford, and he has convinced me with this take, is that in Brady’s division you can’t afford to hit singles and doubles on draft day - you’ve got to hit early on premium positions or you’re dead out of the gate. I’m afraid he’s right.
  3. That bike is still suffering from PTSD.
  4. I've seen Art Brut in concert a couple of times - that was enough. Their schtick is entertaining but wears old after repeated listens. Not sure that's what you're citing them for in this thread but it might work...
  5. He said “two things” but only listed one?
  6. Interesting... I could see it.
  7. This is a phenomenon which transcends football - people see chaos and destruction all around them and feel an innate need to ascribe it to the omniscient workings of an unseen force of good (or evil, depending). It's a basic human tendency. It happens with the Bills, it happens in certain theological hallways, it happens with conspiracy theories. There exists a deep human need to ascribe meaning and a plan to something that, by almost any measure, lacks the same.
  8. I mean maybe it's not a GREAT apology but...
  9. Come on. There was good discourse back and forth - would hate to see it reduced to "you're not a real fan if you're critical of the product."
  10. Seems like a useful article in May...
  11. Chris Simms is really growing on me.
  12. He does seem willing to learn and adapt - it's the best thing about him, so far. He was smart enough to jettison an OL coach who had been with him from the jump...
  13. I'm somewhere in the middle here. It does bug me to the core that NP insisted on throwing to a pre-determined spot no matter what was happening in front of him. The results were disastrous, yet he kept doing it. Who does that? It's not like he was misreading the defense post-snap - he wasn't even bothering to read it at all. You can't blame players for sucking, generally - but can't you blame them for stubbornly doing something over and over again, which they have some control over, and which causes their team to lose?
  14. The fact that Peterman is on a roster could’ve been Kaepernick’s lawyer’s opening statement... just sayin’.
  15. Beane continues to take chances with damaged goods - when you trade using "injury arbitrage" you need to discount your expectations by at least 50% with each signed player...
  16. Is Gase the Jay Cutler of coaches? Is he a GM-killer?? ?
  17. Is it me, or is "Woody Johnson" redundant?
  18. Let me be the first to say: I can't wait for the new GM's introductory PC!
  19. They should name a section of the stadium after him.
