  1. Mack's great and a Buffalo hero. But we have Hughes and Murphy at DE. Both legit starters that we're signed on to pay starter money to. The way I see it, DE is set at the moment. Would Mack be an upgrade? Yes. But is it really worth it to Beane to give up what it would take in both cap and trade compensation for a position he feels he already covered this offseason? I don't see it.
  2. As compensation in a trade? No, you can't. Sure, they could have cut him and got no compensation. But that's not the situation I was referring to.
  3. Well... yeah. You can't get worse compensation than a 7th two years from now.
  4. I'd imagine you're going to see that change. Brandon Beane himself was talking this morning (on One Bills Live) about how he's noticed he's been making the tough catches in Practice. And if that happens - will it be okay with you if I talk about him then? Sorry, I missed the memo that stated I should only talk about stone cold locks.
  5. He's had some work gunning. But just because he was practicing there doesn't mean he has the job. Lots of guys are practicing in lots of places. I've yet to read that Foster is blowing anyone away at anything yet. "Making his mark" is a little much at this point. On the flip side, Cam Phillips has been making tons of plays. And as such - I created a thread about him. It's extremely early in the process. But if you've been to camp (or can read what the writers are writing), Phillips is outperforming every Rookie WR, at this point. Foster included. I realize you're an Alabama fan and you want your dude to do well. But let's not ignore what Phillips has done because of it.
  6. Funny, I don't recall making a Robert Foster thread... I'm just reporting what i've seen and what i've been hearing. Maybe Foster will make it and Phillips won't. Maybe it will be vice versa. But on the practice field, the kid keeps making plays. And it's worth recognizing right now.
  7. 3) Cam Phillips keeps making plays - Despite one uncharacteristic drop in the middle of practice on Thursday, undrafted rookie wide receiver Cam Phillips continue his strong training camp with another huge day. Phillips set the tone early with the best reception of the day -- when Josh Allen unleashed a fastball from about 10 yards out to the back middle of the end zone intended for Phillips. The wideout had a defender draped all over him, showed strength on the ball and brought in the reception against all the odds. He doubled up on the success to end practice too. Allen fired it to the same spot and the same target, Phillips, and the rookie made another brilliant play on a perfectly thrown pass from a short distance. Whenever a wide receiver can complete the play the way that Phillips has been doing consistently through training camp, it usually begs a further look from the coaching staff to see if they can do it against some better competition. I would not be surprised if Phillips gets bumped up to work with the second-team offense before too long because he is significantly outplaying the rookie trio of Robert Foster, Ray-Ray McCloud, and Austin Proehl. https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-observations-from-2018-buffalo-bills-training-camp-day-7
  8. I'm pretty sure they drafted McCloud to be Tate's replacement in the return game. If he doesn't produce in the Pre-Season from that spot - maybe it's PS. But I think he'll be in the 53. People don't want to hear it. But my gut tells me this will be yet another season of Brandon Reilly just missing the 53. Too many more heralded prospects have walked through the door since last year.
  9. I know Reilly's the unsung hero of Bills fans. But that was before they signed a 2017 GB Draft Pick in Dupre, spent two 2018 Draft Picks in McCloud and Proehl, and signed more heralded UDFA's in Foster and Cam Phillips (who's killing it). Add in the locks of Kelvin Benjamin, Jeremy Kerley, and Zay Jones (most likely). McCloud is probably going to stick as a KR. That leaves 2-3 spots for everyone I listed in the first paragraph PLUS Andre Holmes and Rod Streater. Long story short - I think the media is setting Reilly and his fans up for disappointment. I don't see him making the 53 unless he absolutely is head and shoulders above everyone else. Which I don't see happening.
  10. Day 6 MVP: WR Cam Phillips- As the pads have gone on, Phillips has risen to the challenge and is making an outstanding play almost on a daily basis. Wednesday was his best day so far. When I went to Fisher last Friday, I kept seeing #5 making plays. I had to check the roster sheet to see who he was. Since then, every single practice i've read the beat guys talking about him. If you go to practice, keep an eye out for him. I'm expecting/hoping for a solid Pre-Season.
  11. 16 year old son was missing at 3 in the morning when this all went down. I find that odd. But, hey, I think a woman, her cousin, and her teenaged son all living in an ex-boyfriends house is kind of odd too. And that probably makes me a POS.
  12. If it's true - we'll know soon. No woman is going to go to the ER looking like that without authorities being called.
  13. There's still warm fuzzies for Dalton and Boyd. But that's it.
  14. I bought a pair of black Nike Air Monarchs. I like them. Had no idea it was such a fashion faux pas. Guess i'm getting old (34).
  15. Maybe Graham's looking to get one of those buyouts that Jerry Sullivan and Bucky Gleason got...
  16. Why? He signed a contract. If he wants to retire, fine. But why are they just letting him sign elsewhere? Stupid.
  17. The worst? Probably not. Is it the biggest unknown in the league? Definitely.
  18. I think that would be awesome. But he's carved out a nice little niche for himself. Every year he's working with one of the top QBs in the Draft. This year he had two. He's being recognized as the go-to guy come Draft time. I wouldn't give that gig up.
  19. I was actually just having this conversation with my brother. I was definitely anti-Allen leading up to the Draft and was pretty upset when we picked him instead of Rosen. But at the end of the day, i'm a Bills fan and he's our guy now. No point in crying over spilled Rosen. I feel like if I buy a jersey, i'm quite literally - buying in. In a way, I think it would help me support the decision. So i'm definitely thinking i'll get one. ... at the very least - i'll grab one of those awesome 'Stats are for losers' t-shirts ? https://breakingt.com/products/buffalo-gunslinger-shirt-stats-are-for-losers
  20. Nope. He was long reported as Arizona's 1st choice. Seeing what we paid and what they paid for 10 says to me that we were competing with them.
  21. So i'm supposed to exclusively give you credit for calling the QB that most often gets mocked to us?
  22. Please Cleveland - take Josh Allen at 1. Help us, Obi-Wan Dorsey, you're our only hope.
  23. I want: Sam Darnold Josh Rosen Baker Mayfield I do NOT want: Josh Allen Lamar Jackson Mason Rudolph If Allen were to fall to 12 and everyone above went in the top 5, okay. But to take him with either Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield available would be painful. Especially if they gave a lot to trade up for him.
  24. Mainly the first part. But when they do - we aren't even an afterthought. Small market and a small history of success equate to them looking elsewhere.
