  1. I think that's a great move! Jolley's good, but he's not "trade your first round pick" good.
  2. It's definitely plausible, but I don't think it will happen. I'd bet that the Dolphins are going to use that pick for Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, or Aaron Rodgers. The Redskins are going to stay put if you ask me. They'll take Pac-Man Jones at 9 and Jason Campbell at 25. I think you'll see Minnesota package their #7 and #18 to move up to Cleveland's #3 to ensure that they get Braylon Edwards to replace Randy Moss though.
  3. Jason Brown, Center from North Carolina I don't think we're going to draft a rookie for LT. As it is we have: Mike Williams Bennie Anderson Trey Teague Chris Villarial Mike Gandy Justin Bannan Ross Tucker Lawrence Smith Ben Sobieski Dylan McFarland Jason Peters After picking a Center, we'll have 12 OL. I think we'll sign another tackle at some point. Whether we just pick up Shelton after he's cut or sign the best available 6/1 cut, it doesn't matter.
  4. Draft: #2 - Matt Jones (QB/WR/TE, Arkansas) #2 - Mike Nugent (K, Ohio State) #3 - Stanley Wilson (CB, Stanford) #4 - Jason Brown (C, North Carolina) #5 - Maurice Clarrett (RB, Ohio State) #6 - David McMillan (DE, Kansas) #7 - Jason White (QB, Oklahoma) Bills trade Travis Henry to the Eagles for #35.
  5. Victor Riley is one of the top tackles in the league. He plays RT, but I think he's versatile enough to play LT. If not, Mike Williams could be switched to LT and Victor put in at RT. Is there something wrong with him that I don't know about? I think he would be the perfect addition if we really don't like Shelton. http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/feature.asp?fid=9054
  6. I disagree with you guys. If there's a player that TD wants (like Matt Jones) at 35, who won't be available at 55; a trading Travis Henry to move TWENTY spots up is worth it.
  7. Meh.... It doesn't shock me. That doesn't mean he'll be a Bill this season. We often go into training camp with more than 3 QB's.
  8. If everyone wants to trade down, let's go up and grab Mike Williams! "I likey the smoke and mirrors" - TD "I like to beat a dead horse" - Me
  9. No. Just no. If he's our second pick then i'm down. But not if he's our first pick.
  10. I like the guy. I mean do disrespect, but I like that this guy seemed awake. I understand John Paul II was getting up there in age and was ill. But I just don't agree with the whole, Pope until you die or relinquish the title.
  11. #25? hmmm..... Definitely not for a #1 next year! We'd be in the same boat we're in now and next year's crop will most likely be better. If Denver wants themselves a RB (which I don't think they do) and a #55, then it'd be good. But I think they'd draft Matt Jones before Jamal Brown. There's OT's still on the market who would be better than him and cheaper.
  12. http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com East Coast (the place that brought us our Nate Clements info first) projects us trading Travis Henry and our 2nd to Phili for their #35. Thus selecting Matt Jones. They are also reporting that San Fran has agreed to draft Alex smith #1! "04/17...The latest news around the league starts in Buffalo where the Travis Henry sweepstakes appears to be heating up...the Arizona Cardinals were one of the first teams to express their interest in Henry... but within the last week the Tampa Bay Bucs and Philadelphia Eagles have both contacted the Bills about the possibility of trading for Henry...these teams realize that although this Draft appears to be full of Halfbacks that will be available in rounds three through five...they also know that there is a HUGE dropoff after the top three backs...the Eagles own two picks in the top 35 of this Draft (picks #31 and #35) could be "dangling " one of those picks to acquire Henry from the Bills in a trade down with the team...the Bills first pick in the Draft is at #55 and a package deal of that pick and Travis Henry could be headed to Philly for one of the Eagles first two picks...this is nothing more than speculation at this time...but stay tuned come Draft Day... Bills Gm Tom Donahoe stated this week at the Bills Pre-Draft Luncheon that several NFL teams have contacted him about trading their first pick in the Draft and getting out of the first round...the general feeling around the league is there are about 15 Top Prospects in this Draft but the next 15 to 20 prospects all carry a similar grade...some teams that are drafting in that area feel they would rather move down into the second round of the Draft and not have to pay first round money to a prospect...they would then acquire an extra third or fourth round pick for trading down where there will be several solid prospects still on the board in round three through four......just a reminder...Al will be tweaking his two round Mock several times between now and the Draft...before posting his Final Mock next Friday. "
  13. I'll admit, i'd be pretty peeved. I at least expect a Travis trade to go down. I'd like to see us try and get in the top 10 to get a guy like Mike Williams. But I think a Travis trade is going to go down and we're going to package things to get high enough to pick Matt Jones.
  14. EVERYTHING is posturing. I don't trust a word that comes out of TD's or any GM's mouth before the draft.
  15. Uncapped year? That's a joke right? As for the "tag and trade", Charles Woodson provided the antidote for that situation when he signed the franchise tender forcing Oakland to pay. I think you won't see that move going down anymore. Plus, tagging Nate won't get us anywhere near a 9th. Teams will know that we have to trade him and that puts the cards in their hands. No one in this draft worth trading for? I disagree. We don't need a QB and we don't need a RB. The OL is weak in this draft. But this year is rich in CB's and WR's. We need a guy like Mike Williams, Braylon Edwards, or Matt Jones. We have Eric Moulds who is getting old and starting to show it. Lee Evans is amazing, but Josh Reed is worthless. TD says we need help on offense. Any of those three guys are worth it (of course Jones will go MUCH later than 9). Alex Barron at OT and Heath Miller at TE would be worth trading for as well. From 9, you could trade down and pick up a couple picks to get one (if not both) of those guys.
  16. NO! 9 is too high to pick Barron. He's the best tackle in the draft, but it's a weak draft for tackle. I've said it once and i'll say it a million times, if we get that high than we need to make a run at Mike Williams. As for Matt Jones, he's not going to be there in the 2nd round. Phili or Pittsburgh will take him in the late 1st. I'm all for the Nate trade, but if we're at 9 and we can't get Mike Williams; then I say trade down for some more picks. Then and ONLY then should we draft Alex Barron with our first pick.
  17. Oh yeah? Who's your source? And you're positive we can afford to pay top 5 or 10 CB money? Even if we could do you think TD would pay it? Doubtful at best.
  18. It depends. I think if they could trade up a few spots for a small price (like Henry to someone with the 9) than i'd go with Mike Williams. He'd be just TOO good for TD to pass up. Ditto if he fell to #9. Otherwise, i'd just see him trade down or maybe pick Alex Barron. But 9 might be a tad high for him.
  19. Put it to bed? Are you crazy?! It had enough clout to be involved in a news story. It has enough validity to be commented on by Redskins officials. "The rooster can walk baby!" - Bruce Dickinson
