  1. Without the Offense, the Chiefs could score 40 points easily yesterday. It wasnt perfect, they also blew it at the 2 minuts warning, but our best defense was our offense on the field and by far. The defense did the most they can do, but a lot of offense in the NFL could score at will against them. Thumps up to our offense to eat the clock and find a way to put some points on the board. It wasnt not enough, but we played a playoff game against the Chiefs with too many -next man up- on defense. It's sad because i'm pretty sure we win that game with an healty defense.
  2. You're not alone, be sure of that. The samething happen year after year. We dont need a huge instinct to know what will happen again. We had all the clues we need during the seasons, but we try to hide it behing all those wins in seasons. Bottom of line: something will happen each year at the same time of the year. JJWATT show and this famous common sense call, 13 seconds, Hamlin, injuries. Yesterday, i felt like we could have it at the 2 minuts warning, but i was not in shock at all to see them blew it. It's a kind of battered women syndrome i guess. Until we understand we have to try another road to take the next step, it will be that, for the better and the worst.
  3. Allen and the offense were our best Defense yesterday. The only reason the Chiefs didnt score 40points is because the time our offense was on the field. A lot of QB could score at will against a backup Defense. They gave us all they can, but there's a limit of this -next man up- concept. A couple of -next man up- is fine. Others starters could talk to them on the field. But so many bakcup at this time of the year in playoff? The Chiefs should win this game easily. Our Bills stay in the game by eating the clock a lot on offense. We can talk about every play we missed, but the Chiefs also missed some play and a big one at the goal line when they fumble the ball. The offense really did a good job to keep that game close. It's sad because they did almost everthing they had to do to help the defense, stay in the game, and they kinda blew it at the two minuts warning. Credits to the Chiefs, but they are very lucky this year. They just played their two playoffs game against decimate defense. They did what they had to do in both game, but they didnt play against an healtly Bills yesterday and it's part of the game. Bottom of line, we are 5-6 now in playoffs. It is what it is, no matter behing how many wins in season we want to hide that fact.
  4. Chiefs Defense will be there. They will try something and they will play with some agressiveness for sure. They will not just wait for a mistake on Defense. We all know that. This year, i see something different with our defense in some games.Sometimes not. We all see the difference when they just wait for a mistake or play to win, If the Bills had learn something about that kind of soft defense who killed us in playoff against the best QB, they will do whathever it takes to be in Mahomes face, to provoke mistakes and not just waiting for. They will do whathever it takes to make Mahomes scratch his head and not just wait for a mistake. I hope they had learn something about our lost in playoff since two years. If they really try and we lose, i can deal with it as a fan. Then, i really thing the Bills could win that game by playing to win and not just wait and triying to not lose. The gameplan should not only be a chess game. It's football. We need some agressiveness in that gameplan. A lot. For those who will be there: Help that defense like you always did. Make some noise like you never did. It could be a huge part of that game.
  5. The Bills could be in a real strange scenario on week 18. -If they beat the Pats -If the Ravens beat Miami -If Bengles or Steelers win their 2 games.. In this scenario..if the Bills beat Miami, they get the no2 seed but if they lose that game, they are out. It's a lot of -IF- but it's possible. Just beat the Pats first. We lost some of those kind of games this year.
  6. Nothing more, nothing less than that. It's right in front of our eyes. It's so obvious. Each week, we talk about the finger that point to the Moon.
  7. Winning culture will always try to win the last game when they feel their window is open. If they dont win, it's a failure. For those teams, a 13-3 season with a devastating lost at home in playoff is a failure. Losing culture franchises are happy to be a good team. They dont want to change anything cause they are afraid: it could be worst. Those teams will hide their devastating lost at home in playoff behind their 13-3 season. Expectations. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not better than anyone as a long time Bills fan. I'm part of it and i will root for them all Sundays. Then, let be serious: Between the 13 seconds a couple of years ago and the 12 man last year, we have a lot of that kind of weird mistakes. It's a clear pattern.
  8. Agree with your statement. As a long time Bills fans, i absolutely know i'm not in a winning culture. We're a good team and after those 17 years, it seems to be enough. Our window are -was- open and we all know we're not that far. But, for us, it seems to be an accomplishment. Even this year, we're not playing good football but we're still in the hunt. For a team in a winning culture,it's not enough and it's a failure to not win the last game when that window is open. One thing is sure: A winining culture just cant even tolerate a mistake like the 13 seconds when the window is open. I'm not better than any fan: i'm the first one who wanted to give a chance after that mistake. At least, we're a good team now i guess. They turned it around. Finally. Then, this program is clearly - play to not lose- year after year, week after week, except for some games. It's so conservative. We'll have some good seasons by playing like that but we'll not win our last game if we tolerate so easily the same mistakes week after week, year after year. I'm just a fan. It's just how i see it and I really hope i'm wrong.
  9. Exaclty. He could hire Coordinators who can challenge him...It could help his program a lot! He clearly prefers good soldiers.
  10. I dont think any fan is hating Mcdermott. Not at all. He's a pro and he is well paid to do his job. It's a real competitve job and we just have to think about Dorsey today to remember that. We just talk about football. We're fans and we also pay because we love that game, we love our Bills. whorlnut just point some facts. Mcdermott could hired and fired whoever he wants. It's his job. Then, it begins to be a lot of coachs who were fired under his program. A lot. It say something at whoever wants to listen. Hire and fire coachs until he finds the perfect one is a kind of management but i really think we're near the limit.
  11. I understand and it's fair enough. But, at the end, i really think it's coaching. Most of the teams in the NFL dream about having a QB like Allen. When you have that kind of QB, you have to know how to coach him. He is confused? He isnt capable of fixing that? Where's the coach??? I really think we are wasting someone as talented as Josh Allen. I really think we have an incredible horse in our stable...but nobody seems to know how to ride him in this staff. We cant be in the head of our players, but it is written in the face of our best players they dont really know what's happen there. So many high picks and cap space on defense...If you need an average game manager as your QB for your gameplan and the way you want to play, you really waist someone as talented as Josh Allen. Maybe i'm wrong, maybe you're right...but one thing is sure: If we change nothing, we'll never know and we will stay right where we are.
  12. I agree with Mcdermott. We should scored that TD with less than 13 seconds on the clock...
  13. How can he win so many yards by running the ball without being in shotgun formation?
  14. Two years ago, it was our ST coach...Last year, it was our DC...This year it is our OC. Those coaches have one thing in common.
  15. It's all about expectations. We'll not climb the mountain higher than that with this whole program. Some fans feel good with it and i have no problem about that. Some others talk about taking the next step, trying to be the best. Maybee we could fell off the mountain if we try. Maybee not. Who knows? It could be a Rex Ryan ou Chip Kelly type...and it could be the HC we need to take the next step. One thing is sure: if we not try, we'll stay right where we are. Like i said, it's all about expectations.
  16. Cannot be more agree. At the end, it's all about expectations.
  17. I really feel we have too many -If- now. I want to be optimist, but i dont know how it could change. We made the same mistakes week after week and everywhere i watch, i just dont know how it could change suddenly. Those players seems to be flat...and it is written in their face they dont believe in the game plan. I really think they lost them. They are pro and they saw what we saw. This challenge on a 9 yards gain when a TO had a huge value say something. The hurry up offense seems to work pretty well for us? Let stop it to help the defense... This -play to not lose- culture begin to be really boring...and nothing to help, those injuries are huge for our defense. I hope i'm wrong. I will be there, i will root...but there's a lot of -If-, like i said. A lot!
  18. It seems to be our identity: playing to not lose. In some games every year under Mcdermott, we played to win. We didnt let the others teams came back in the game. we didnt let them breath. But, most of the time, we played to not loose. We just stopped playing, just waiting for the clock or something like that, on defense and on offense. This identity, bend but dont break...dont take any chance...let's hope for a mistake... clearly affect even the offense. An average team could really have a good season with this kind of indentity. But, there's no way a Team can take the next step by playing to not lose like that. We will always be in most of the game. We will always be tough to beat, no doupt about it. Then, I dont think we could win 3 or 4 games in a row against playoffs teams and real contender by playing like that, with this kind of indentity. 13 seconds and the OT in that game told us all we have to know about this identity, play to not lose. They have to change that mind set. They have to learn to play to win. It's all on Mcdermott.
  19. Not sure on this one. We have 2 entire drives against prevent defense. I'm a big fan of Allen and we're lucky to have a top QB like him. But, our offense before those drives against Prevent had only one good drive and some good plays only here and there. Our offense had the ball a lot of times with only one score behing. They didnt score.
  20. Somewhere around the league, a Team will need him (and pay him). I really think a team could even try him as a WR1 if he has a good season. For us, it will be too expensive for a WR2. No doupt about it. It's a win-win for Davis and the Bills if he has a good season. Do we have a compensatory draft pick if another team sigh him? The best thing for us is to find the best WR in the draft sooner than later.
  21. It is. Bernard is a common French First name here in Québec. Older fans will remember Bernard Parent, the goalie of the 70's (Flyers).
  22. Totally agree. We -play to not lose-. It is a good philosophy to be competitve. Even an average team could find a way to handle a long season by playing like that. Mcbeane did it with a real average team when we were in the playoffs for the first time since 17 years. We willl handle that season again, i'm pretty sure. We have a good team, there's no doupt about it. But, i just dont see now how we could beat a reel contender in playoffs by playing like that. Even with a great 13-3 season, we were not that surprise by the way we lost our last game. Even if we can read the stats about our defense, we were not that surprise each time they collapse when it counts the most. At the end, the process bring us that high, being a competitive team. It's not nothing. Then i really feel like we just cant climb higher than that. As a long time Bills fan, i will be there, root for them week after week but i feel like i already know the end of the movie. I really hope i am wrong about this.
  23. If our expectations are low, we clearly could say if Allen played just a little better than that, one less mistake, we could win that game. It's his worst game as a Bills, we all know that. But...it's clearly more than that. Every little thing doesnt seem to be a big deal, but the addition of them is huge.
  24. Agree and i'm confused. There's something we dont know i guess. I feel like Bendford and Jackson are the safe options and they choose that. Elam isnt built for our bend but dont break defense. He's not built for a soft defense. I understant that. But, i really think they should let him on the field, let him make mistakes, coach him, talk to him. He isnt the safe option but he can make play. He's the most physical CB we have by far and AFC east will run in our face, we all know that. More he was on the field last year, better he played. I lost faith in our soft defense. We're too fast for those Justin Field kind of QB but the best seems to score at will against us. Letting a CB like Elam on the bench with all the attributes he has is for me an exemple of a safe and soft option. But, hey, i'm just a fan. Like i said, there's something we dont know i guess...
  25. On one interception a couple of weeks ago, Allen threw the ball but Shakir made another route. They need more reps in practice to be on the same page. It's the problem when you have some players in this position. Beasly, at his best, just stole some first down by going exactly where the hole is. It's not easy to be at slot receiver. You have to read defense exactly like your QB read it.
