Well I've said it before, the 1st rd. pick has to play. period. That being said, it bear's discussion as to roster numbers. If they go DT or DE, how many linemen can they keep? Anyone going to the P.S. is as good as gone....likely a Giant. BTW, I think Kingsley Jonathan ( who would have been the no.1 overall pick in the CFL), is probably better than any edge we could find after pick 91. They can cut some fat off the Oline, but at the expense of demoting Brown?....that's really questionable judgement IMO. A no. 27 pick has to start day 1. Brown had no off season last year and is on his 2nd year with Kromer as well as his 2nd O.C. so I will defer to Beane's judgement on him. IMO, we need a C or better yet a C/G. I prefer Avila ( considering where we pick in the 2nd.) How many LBs can they keep? We, I believe currently we have 5. Not a big Dodson fan. Same with WRs. We have what? 5 not counting Kumerow? I doubt a day one difference maker will be there at 27....let alone the old adage that it takes 2 to 3 years for a WR to break out. I think we can find a future stud 91 or in the 4th or even later. All that being said, I would take Kincaid or Meyer if either fell to us and try like hell to make a move for Sanders....Or I would go Campbell, Avila and Musgrave. Avila...6'3 1/2 332 played center 2021 and guard 2022 not allowing a single sack. I'm willing to bet come draft day Beane makes moves none of us saw coming.

Not to mention picking where we are....nothing is a "reach"...and a 1st rd. player has to play so the minute they draft Wright, they are removing Brown. Hell Bates could play RT most likely better than a rookie. Just not a move I would make. We do need an OT and C/G, but not with the 1st of 6 picks.

Edge rushers still available in free agency

N. Smith / Cancey or Breese would be my guess....if it were to happen. -
I think Jones will be the best tackle in the future and 40 seems to be the right spot. I don't wanna draft a tackle just because worst case we can move him inside. I would rather have a C/G like Avila learning next to Morse and go with a Breeland later.

It's a hard decision to make. One one hand, you get an extra RT...who could free up Knox and very well only be 20 Lbs away from being a good RT...or.. do you go with an offensive weapon? Quinton Morris is a slippery dude that can catch. What do ya do?

Yes, I listen to One Bills Live every day. I also listen to other hosts and read. Dorsey, IIRC was a Heisman winner that had Shockey and Winslow. I'm sure he's familiar with TEs and how to use them. Saffold was an absolute waste, Brown had no off season and one year with his 2nd O.C....and Dion is starting to look soft. If Kromer can light a fire on this line (which I won't call set yet), there should be enough improvement to be able to run the ball. Hopefully he'll have solid slot play and Knox doesn't have to line up behind the RG to help in pass pro.

I think Dorsey will be much improved this year to the same point I expect our Defense to improve. There was talk on the radio about the reason Josh was reluctant to take a lot more check downs and quick slants and throwing darts. Maybe Dorsey was reluctant to call them also. It was said that the throwing motion on those throws created different stresses on the elbow vs. the long release. Not only do I expect a better run game, but more of a quick, move the chains offense this year. I have faith in Dorsey.

I think after pick 20, it's gonna be a crap shoot. There is no telling who will be there and who won't. While I'm on the Campbell train, I'll stick with the premise of the thread. If Darnell Washington is there at 27(Kincaid and Meyer being gone)...along with every other 27th pick quality, I'd be looking to trade down to the Saints or Philly and get the 4th or 3rd respectively and pick Darnell. It would be like having a 2nd RT, great run blocker and an outlet that can;t be defended. As far as WR, I like Rashee Rice who can be that alpha in the next yr. or 2 in the 4th if possible. I think he can be an Andre Reed.

FA Cameron Fleming RT Why don't we go get him?

I'd actually love it if they signed Fluker. If he's better than Brown ( which I would think) then Brown can go to swing and keep working on his game and we can get Qberry the Hell out of here. Fluker looks like he's gonna be a beast for someone....and Brown can learn from him. -
This was talked about yesterday by Brown and Tasker. They made good points in that why would the Cards release him? Ultimately it would save them maybe 8 mil. on the cap but they believe as do I, that some team will at least give them future assets so it would be foolish to get absolutely nothing in return. If it was a 1 yr. 15 mil. deal teams would be lining up, but 2 or more yrs. at 40 plus and /or assets?

One situation I'm keeping an eye on is Balt. Right now they only have 5 picks. They have until May 1st to exercise Patrick Queen's 5th yr. option. NFL rules are that they have to notify a player after yr. 3 by early May. They gave R. Smith 100 mil. deal. Do they do it or trade him to gain picks. They may very well move Lamar and get a bunch, but even then Queens 5th yr. won't be cheap. He's coming into his prime after a terrific year and could maybe be had for a mid to/and late rd. 2024 pick(s). I'm sure that contract could be done somehow with him being on his 4th yr. If Lamar does sign the tag or gets a deal to stay in Balt., then they damn sure can't afford it. I'm assuming we'll keep Ed, but if the board goes to crap on draft night, this could essentially give us an extra pick for another position.....plus we get a proven vet just entering his prime.

In my head....no trades Campbell Avila LaPorta Rice BPA CB/Safety BPA DT

Then as far back as Reuben Brown?

NFLDraftbuzz has Sanders rank at no. 70. I have been using draftbuzz in my posts because it's a completely different look at players than fans/main stream media and is pretty thought provoking.
-
I just don't believe the Bills are out on Brown. Also how many times in the past have the Bills taken an Olineman in the 1st instead of targeting a skill position that they can have for 5 yrs. FWIW, NFLDraftbuzz has Wright at no. 46....while Darnell Washington T 27 and Campbell at 28.
