Somebody posted that Bills draft picks haven’t washed out of the league during their rookie deals so it’s all good.

I’m still unclear on this. Is his contract up? Aren’t we waiting to hear that either he has a new contract or they’re pursuing a new DC?

Allen’s accuracy becomes an even bigger issue when he has to throw into tighter spaces on a shorter field.

I had the same concerns last off-season and nothing changed. Bills are stuck in the tumble dry low setting where there’s always still a little damp spot.

Re-structure Allen, possibly White. Release Morse for $6M savings. Edmunds receives transition tag. Dodson, Jackson, and Lewis receive qualifying offers. All UFAs can walk or re-sign on the cheap - not worth discussing. Poyer and Singletary are gone. Free agency should target Edge, S, and RB during the second wave. Draft should prioritize offense (trade down in R2 would be ideal): R1 - IOL/WR R2 - WR/IOL R3 - OT/DT R4 - DT/OT R5 - IOL/TE R6 - TE/IOL

That's all fine, but they reached in the third round with several quality OL prospects still on the board. Bernard would have likely been available in the fourth/fifth round, and if not, there must've been other LB prospects who fit your criteria. It was a baffling choice.

The problem with not wanting to invest more resources into the DL is that they need to invest more resources into the DL. Miller will miss at least half the season. That leaves Rousseau. We know Epenesa and Basham are useless and Lawson is UFA. Oliver and Jones are a good enough starting combo, but Phillips is UFA and Settle struggled despite his supposed untapped upside (I do like Bryant).

That's a nice example of the ole' reliable "you can manipulate stats to fit any argument." Washing out of the NFL isn't the standard. Getting impact, particularly from early round picks, is the standard.

Nobody is wasting Allen. Allen has plenty of flaws himself. As a collective, they seem to have plateaued particularly because of poor drafting.

Draft = offense FA = defense

To be fair, considering Beane’s draft prowess, they were getting 6th/7th round value with that 5th anyway.

I'll give you one guess.

They absolutely need a young arm in the mix. It'll have to be a UDFA with no 6th/7th round picks. Analyzing potential undrafted QBs could actually be an interesting conversation. I'd also be fine with trading a 2024 6th if there's somebody they like at the end of the draft.

They're not going to block Davis. Far more likely to draft a WR to develop and compete.

All rather obvious or self-evident thoughts, some of which could have been concluded by October.

My enthusiasm died at 13 seconds. Have to draw the line somewhere with this franchise.
