  1. I kind of like this and kind of don't. I think there's general agreement that week 1 was a classic example of Sugar High Josh and it cost us the game. So getting that under control is absolutely necessary. The problem is he dialed it all back so when the whole team is in Sugar Low mode, the only one trying to fire up the guys is Diggs. It's finding the right balance. Maybe turn it up most of the time, but have a trusted voice on the sideline that can tell him "you're getting into Sugar High, you need to dial it back for yourself, but not the rest of the team"
  2. You can still do that even with multiple personnel packages - just do it per drive. I.e. start a drive in 11 and stay there the whole drive, then start a drive in 12 and stay there the whole drive. Have a Latavius Murray drive and a James Cook drive. Substitute as little as possible within a drive. Especially in the first half. Second half might want to mix and match more since the opposing D worked out their adjustments to what we did in the first half, so in the second half don't do the same thing.
  3. Josh Allen is trying to stay 'low positive.' Here's what that means for the Buffalo Bills quarterback https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nfl/bills/josh-allen-is-trying-to-stay-low-positive-heres-what-that-means-for-the-buffalo/article_c1a4bb80-72a0-11ee-af89-b3bab684408d.html This one's not behind a pay wall Quarterback Josh Allen says his new 'low positive' approach might be behind Bills sluggish starts https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/quarterback-josh-allen-says-his-new-low-positive-approach-might-be-behind-bills-sluggish-starts/ar-AA1iMGpx
  4. It's because of their contract situation - they can only franchise one of them so are almost guaranteed to lose one next year. They are willing to trade one or the other, but not both.
  5. It's got to do with waiver priority. If the Jets are planning to cut Hardman, they tell the Chiefs ahead of that. If the Chiefs kind of want him, and would definitely put in a waiver claim, they have to guess how likely it is that a team with a worse record would also claim him, and therefor get him. Let's say that the Bills are actually interested in getting Hardman for free - if they put in the claim the Bills would get him and the Chiefs would miss out. A swap of 6th and 7th round picks in a future draft is about the cheapest compensation you can offer. Maybe a couple of bags of footballs would be cheaper, but if the Jets are already fully stocked with footballs, then it's not very enticing.
  6. Well, Norman hasn't been out of the league all this time. 2020 - 13 games with Buffalo 2021 - 17 games with San Francisco 2022 - 2 games with Carolina He's obviously not the same guy he was in his heyday, and probably not even the same guy he was in 2020. But he's just on the practice squad. And as another poster mentioned, he could be a good veteran presence in the DB room. I agree with everybody that I hope we never have to play him in a game, but this is a sensible move. And it in no way precludes any trades or stealing guys off other teams practice squads (which have to go to the Active Roster immediately). You have to assume that at least the top 96 cornerbacks in the league, and probably the top 128, are on somebody's active roster right now and are untouchable except via trade. Possible somebody in the 130 range is on somebody's practice squad right now, but you're taking a risk by signing him to the active roster.
  7. Monday through Saturday, McD can certainly get in the OC's face and tell him what to do. But during the game, especially as the defense's play caller, that's pretty much impossible. It's an argument for why McD shouldn't call play for the Defense, but I think most would agree that the defense looks a lot better this year with him calling the plays than when Frazier was here. And with all the injuries on defense, McD will have to devote a lot of brain cells to shoring up that unit. Especially if we are at the stage of "Help us, Obi-Wan Josh Norman, you're our only hope" Dorsey is going to have to fix this on his own, unfortunately.
  8. He'll change it up next week - shotgun draw to Murray
  9. Let's not forget it was a sunny day and a 1 PM start time in Miami. Let's not forget where the bench is placed for the visiting team. Not only were the Broncos demoralized, they were dehydrated. Big whoop that the cool fish were able to blast a heat-exhausted team that wasn't that good the begin with.
  10. Did you know that the actor that played Floyd is blind?
  11. After 3 games, Miami is plus 59 in total point differential. Buffalo is plus 56 in differential. The two teams are basically even. Don't be scared of them, and don't be cocky either. Just play Bills football, but make it your best.
  12. So I know he can't play for the Bills this year, but is he still allowed to hang around the building, attend practices, watch film, give advice to Josh - i.e. all the stuff an assistant coach does?
  13. There's no mention of a charity on any of the sets offered on the web site (at least the teams I clicked on) This quote is on the Bills' set: Please note: Purchases of this item on MattelCreations.com are not eligible for and do not contribute to any charitable donation campaigns.
  14. It also means Josh can't just take the snap and throw. Down there you get a very small window when a guy is open - then it closes because there are defenders all over the place in the end zone. There are plenty of plays inside the 5 where Josh takes 7 or 8 seconds to throw it. Either the first read wasn't open or there was no chance to go to the first read because he already had to duck pressure.
  15. Salvatore's on Transit is worth a stop just for the amazingly over-the-top decorations. Food is decent but definitely pricey.
  16. The first year the frenzy for the toys lasted all season. Last year it was very easy to get some after the first couple of weeks and all season long. Remember that there is a difference between the ASKING price on ebay and the actual selling price.
  17. On the PFF draft broadcast they said Jones had a disastrous Pro Day - like some teams literally said they despised the guy and would not take him in any round. And they had Jones at 31 overall on their Big Board.
  18. On the PFF You Tube they mentioned that Dawand Jones had a disastrous pro day - some teams said they would not draft him in any round.
  19. No sacks in 4 years and zero penalties in 2022 suggests that this guy doesn't make mental mistakes. When you're this big, just being in the right place at the right time is worth a lot.
  20. The one thing that stood out to me this year, was the number of times Josh would throw the ball to a spot and there were 2 WR's within a few feet of each other there. And the two were usually Davis and McKenzie To me, that's most likely a coaching issue. It could be the design of the play by Dorsey and the reads the receivers are making, which would be a Dorsey problem, or it could be what the WR coach is telling them, or it could be that the receivers are incapable of making the correct reads. But there was a clear problem with people not running the correct routes.
  21. I do think there is something to the idea that Damar was actually a downer, not an upper for the team. Players have to be constantly optimistic, even when you're down by 40 in the fourth quarter you've got to believe you can come back - and most of these guys actually do feel this way. So with Damar, you're super optimistic - he's gonna be all right, he'll bounce right back and be the same guy he always was. Now, a few weeks after the injury, he's an old man on oxygen. Yes he's alive and thank the Lord for that. But while we didn't get a disastrous ending with Damar, we're not going to get a happy ending either. And when you also add in "that could of been me", it takes a mental toll. A lot of people are expecting to see a few retirements this year, not necessarily all (or even any) from the Bills, due to what happened to Damar. It has to weigh on you.
  22. Any team that has a Josh Allen has a chance
  23. I'm wondering if one reason to get Hyde into the 21 day practice window is that now he can actually be on the field and participate with the other DB's - hearing what the coaches are saying and possibly interpreting it for the other players now and on game day. If he isn't in the window then he has to be "off to the side" and cant participate as fully. Even if they believe right now there is 0% chance of Hyde playing in the next 3 games, it costs nothing to get him "activated". The only drawback is they must fully activate him the day after the AFCCG or he is on season ending IR. And it's possible they might have activated him if they had an extra week but can't bring themselves to pull the trigger on that day.
  24. Actually I was a little critical of the swiping they were doing. The place to focus was the kicker's plant foot and where he was standing before the kick - and while the plant area was clear, he was still standing in snow at the snap. Something they can coach up for future home games. Certainly the effort was highly praiseworthy.
  25. In that article you linked to (https://spreadoffensefootball.com/counter-trey-with-jet-motion/) the play was designed for the ball carrier to go between the Guard and Tackle, which Hines did not do. Do you think the play was intended to actually go wide or did Hines read it wrong?
