They won't try to run. They won't committ to it. I'll say it again and again and again and again. -

Taron on their only good wr. You can't win this way. Too injured and poor matching up -
Did the Bills have to activate him or lose him for the year?? Otherwise this has been a big waste of a roster space with a D that is so beat up. I found it interesting that McDermott refused to say if the issues with Tre were mental or physical. You would think he would immediately deny any mental issues if there are none. I think what seems most likely is he has gotten some big swelling after practices, and that it's affecting him both physically and mentally. Just a educated guess.

Sunday's game vs Cleveland is being moved to Detroit

Don't see that! Makes no sense practically, plus this could be a really good thing. Get rid of all distractions, focus on the team and the games. Almost like a mini training camp. Could be a turning point for this team IF...they win both. -
The health issues this year have been incredible so far. In the beginning of the year my hope of course was for the team to get HF, win two and go to the bowl. At this point my revised hope is that we make playoffs, are healthy and playing well. I firmly believe that if healthy and playing up to their abilities this team can go on the road and run the table and then go to SB and bring it home.

Being able to run the ball...hmm. Does that take COMITTEMENT to it?? It's just amazing. Anyone that has played or coached the game would understand what I am saying. Running the football is about ATTITUDE. It's about making a commitment to it. Letting your O line get into a rhythm and believing in it. It's funny, McDermott has stressed this for the last two years, the need for it. But...what the hell does he know....

Again commitment to the run is just that. It doesn't even mean short term success.
-
Really? This is what I mean. You might want to check the Chiefs run stats vs pass this year. Educate yourself. Pat's had a tremendous commitment to the run beginning of their dynasty then switched to short passing game which was almost like extended handoffs with the accuracy of the goat.
-
Your interpretation is try it, if it doesn't work much you give up on it. That is NOT a commitment to the run by definition. You don't have to have a great running game to be committed to it. It doesn't even have to be successful most of the time. I don't understand why people can't UNDERSTAND that.
-
I don't think you understand what COMITTMENT to the run means. And how we end up in the same predicament for the last several years. What I give to have a Parcells in his prime coaching this team!! He understood.

I will continue to beat this dead horse. Did you see the Commanders last night? 50 carries, only averaged 3.7 yds, they continued to run. They committed to it. Yes, it was part of a strategy to keep an explosive Philly offense off the field. Yes they don't have a Josh Allen. It doesn't matter. You need a commitment to the run. I know this will bring out the " it's a passing league, you have Allen, you don't need to run!" comments. I watched the best pure passer ever his whole career, Marino. He never had a good run game. He got to one SB, never sniffed another one. I watched Elway. He never won a SB to late in his career. What was the key those 2 years? The run game! I see McDermott for 3 years state we need to run more, we need to commit it to it, yet we don't. Who is the HC?? Is he in charge overall of what the team does or not. RUN THE DAMN BALL!

It has been a tough schedule, but of course we should have at most one loss. The next two weeks will say a lot. Two poor teams, teams they should beat soundly. If they lose one, if they struggle even if a win, then this team is in trouble in terms of a deep playoff run.

So as we have seen, a new trend in the league this season is to have a player behind the QB on the sneak and push him forward. The Bills have employed this as well, and with success. Sunday they attempted it again on the goaline snap(It was Davis, which in itself is interesting why, but that's another post). My point is that if Josh does NOT get pushed, he likely falls on or picks up the ball and go forward for the game clinching play. Remember the Cowboys Turkey day play? Instead he got pushed away from the ball. Just another incredible circumstance. I have been a fan of the Bills over 50 years now. Thought I had seen it all. I have a friend, not a Bills fan, who laughs at me and says I'm paranoid because I never feel comfortable in a Bills game until the kneeldowm or whistle. Yesterday after the game he said, ok I finally understand! 😔😔🙂

What coach plus Allen would be the most successful?
JMM replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nothing against McDermott, and not saying he can't get it done. But I think you put Josh together with Paytons concepts and you'd have magic. -
To be fair in the second half two screens were called, one to Knox, both for whatever were blown and Josh threw them away which was the right decision.

NFL Week 10 - Vikings at Bills post game thread
JMM replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Tre has been cleared, then he has to play next week. Not saying start, but play! Or I'm done with this staff. You cannot hide this secondary anymore. They were in shambles. As much as Josh has been responsible for the 3 losses, so has the secondary play. We simply do not lose 2 of the 3, possibly all of them with our starters in there. It's time to play as if each game is a playoff game now. -
