  1. Meanwhile Cam Jordan, future Hall of Famer and selected 21 picks after Dareus just re-upped with the Saints... again. https://www.nfl.com/news/cameron-jordan-saints-two-year-extension-27-5-million
  2. I personally don't like Aaron Rodgers and I too have suspicions about his character. Therefore I can't say you're wrong however I think he's still good enough and smart enough to have a solid year. It should be fun to watch unfold for sure.
  3. The shame in that is that some posters are put on ignore not because their posts suck, but because they're broken records. Occasionally @newcam2012 will post something good and if he's on ignore, then that post gets lost and no one wins. To me the moral of the story is that people shouldn't post unless they truly believe they are bringing something of value to the conversation. Unfortunately there are some people here who post too much and can't limit themselves... and that's probably the biggest problem on most message boards.
  4. Yes, the wildcard for the entire AFC East IS Aaron Rodgers. Noticeably and in contrast to previous seasons, he has been schmoozing with teammates and participating in OTAs and other team building activities this offseason. Clearly he has heard all of the negativity about his offseason habits and inability to work with his young receivers. There's no doubt that Rodgers understands that his legacy is at stake in New York. Right now he's the greatest QB to win only one Super Bowl and a guy who has left a lot of meat on the bone in his career. It's not lost on Rodgers that he has the opportunity to change this narrative.
  5. Behind a paywall but as requested: https://theathletic.com/4740116/2023/08/01/buffalo-bills-training-camp-5/
  6. And for those freaking out about Shakir, "Then on fourth down, safety Cam Lewis made up for fellow safety Taylor Rapp’s poor angle to the throw and made an outstanding pass breakup deep over the middle against receiver Khalil Shakir. "
  7. Thank you. From The Athletic just minutes ago: "The first-team defense wound up with six would-be sacks on only 25 dropbacks, and on some of the pass attempts, Allen had to settle for a shorter throw because the pressure got there quickly. After three good days of offensive success, the defense battled back to win the day at the line of scrimmage, and then dominated the final portion of practice, as well." Chillax, people... this is the natural ebb and flow of training camp practices.
  8. Fair enough JB but I'm happy to see the season play out and see if the money was properly allocated... and I'm certainly not going to assume that it wasn't. I think I can speak for many Bills fans that there was extreme concern about our pass rush without Von Miller. I think very many Bills fans are feeling good about our pass rush now with the signing of Leonard Floyd.
  9. Henry Ellard? He could go play pickle ball with Leslie Frazier! Dan Reeves: 190-165-2. Jeff Fisher: 173-165-1. Tom Landry: 250-162-6. Don Shula: 328-156-6. Bill Belichick: 298-152-0. C'mon. You're a good poster so I can't believe that you believe what you typed. Who else is there in that organization that has one iota of influence? There's almost zero skepticism to the belief that every football decision made in that organization is Belichick's. Here are a few things that doubters of Belichick getting fired don't seem to appreciate: He and Robert Kraft don't like each other. The Boston sports market is viciously competitive and it's a zero-sum game. Kraft doesn't want to be 4th string in publicity or revenue to the Bosox, the Celtics, and the Bruins. The Patriots fans are largely spoiled and have unrealistic expectations. This combined with the events following the departure of Brady (namely the Patriots sucking and Brady winning a Super Bowl in Tampa) has caused a large segment of their fanbase to withdraw their support of Belichick and their interest in the team. These are all things that close observers of the Boston sports scene are aware of but those outside the market are largely unaware of.
  10. The trade away of DeAndre Swift makes me think they don’t want a star running back. I think Etienne’s comments landed closer to Derrick Henry. Barkley has a good all-around game. Yup. Spoiled rich kid who inherited the team and has too much money and time in his quartile.
  11. Great observations in this topic BW. It makes total sense that it’s hard to play Milano’s position like Milano. Maybe there’s some logic to making Williams the understudy there.
  12. IMO Klein has never been a below average LB. There are limitations to his game that the team masks well but also, that he more than makes up for in other aspects of his game. The thing I simply can't wrap my head around is Dodson starting. I thought he looked lost last year and it was his 3rd year in the system. Maybe I'm wrong and the difference between him succeeding and failing is less than I think.
  13. In bowing out, I will say that those who've disagreed with me on this topic have not swayed my opinion My position has not changed. And though I'm in my 60s, I remember very well being 17-18 years old. It seems to me that many of you don't.
  14. I believe that Torrence will shine more brightly when the pads come on and that he'll be the opening day starter. Wagers are welcomed.
  15. Looks like you have to brush up on your NFL history... concussions had been invented by that time but Butkus didn't get any because concussions were afraid of him.
  16. That seems like a group failure right there. Not one of his groomsmen or others could keep him out of harms way on his wedding night? Wow.
  17. Exactly. Tyreek Hill is one of the most feared players in the league and it's not because of his size.
  18. Possibly... I hit the bottle pretty hard last night. I can't swear that I didn't have a BAC at the time of the earlier posts. Because... your answers were unsatisfactory?
  19. I think they're calling him Nissan now. Seriously though, I think Dodson is competing with Matakevich for a roster spot as a core four special teamer. If last year is any indication, they cannot play Dodson as a scrimmage linebacker. JMO. Regarding Klein, in past years he has filled in for both Edmunds and Milano and done so effectively because when he's in there the Bills change up their defense and allow him to play a completely different style from Edmunds/Milano. Klein has never been anything but an effective player for the Bills. Regarding Spector, I like what I saw of him last year and believe he's a legit candidate to start.
  20. And then there was the Ronnie Lott amputation: https://www.si.com/nfl/2014/06/17/nfl-history-in-95-objects-ronnie-lott-amputated-pinkie-finger
  21. I don't know what the girl testified or didn't testify about being inside the house... maybe you do? If so, can you tell us whether there was alcohol involved? Who furnished the alcohol? Was the girl in a clear state of mind? Is there no question that she was confused about the events? Is it not possible that the 17-18 year old girl was coerced into legal action by her parents? Can you tell us whether the girl hired the lawyer or did her parents do that? If you know the answers to these questions it would possibly be enough to start forming an opinion as to who's at fault and who the victims are. One thing we agree on is that her name will be dragged through the mud. Within the community it's probably no secret who the girl is anyways so she'll live with that for the rest of her life regardless of any further litigation.
  22. Thanks Astro. Great stuff and much appreciated!
  23. And the league and its players can afford these things. But of course there's a stupid vanity element that prevents some players from wearing certain things because it doesn't look cool. Remember Antonio Brown and the helmet drama? That was during beta testing... btw William Shatner is 92 freaking years old... long live Kirk!!! You would think. So in principle, it would also make your tongue more stiff and elongated... And I believe he inherited the practice from his predecessor, Kay Stephenson during the "Offensive Offensive" of 1985.
  24. Fair enough but I think most people would agree that one of the two scenarios is a lot more likely than the other.
  25. I wrote a pretty specific and I believe likely scenario that the parents pushed their 17-18 year old daughter to move forward with a scumbag lawyer. I'm not exonerating the girl for her part in this matter but doesn't this doesn't possibly make her a victim as well?
