  1. Regarding Ray, it seems like the days of the Bills putting all of their eggs in one basket (Shawne Merriman) are in the past. Not the same position though, no?
  2. Translation anyone?
  3. You’re far from alone with that opinion.
  4. While I understand the logic behind it, I agree with you that Monken is ill-advised in his restricting his QBs use of the wrist band. But in other ways they have gone all-in on supporting Jackson. They got him a new OC after his uneasy time with Greg Roman. They acquired Odell Beckham, Nelson Agholor, Laquan Treadwell, Melvin Gordon, and drafted Zay Flowers. On paper he has more weapons than he's ever had before.
  5. I'm getting major deja vu... https://deadspin.com/heres-patriots-owner-bob-kraft-helping-his-girlfriend-w-5925018
  6. Josh is struggling with the decision at this very moment. With his stature it's his call to make... the ball is in his court. A dayboff??? Is that like an afternoon delight? What are we talking about here? Just answer the question... From PFT: "At a time when plenty of quarterbacks have said they’re not interested in becoming one of the focal points of the Quarterback series on Netflix, Bills quarterback Josh Allen hasn’t said, “No.” He also hasn’t said, “Yes.” “I don’t want any outside distractions,” Allen said. “I don’t want any unnecessary distractions for myself or this team. I’m not saying that it would be. I’m a little undecided on whether I would want to do it or not. I go back and forth sometimes in my mind, but as of right now I’m just trying to be the best quarterback for this team.” This would be a great year for Allen to do it, from a viewer’s perspective. But the Bills have enough pressure already, enough things that could potentially go haywire." I'm sure Josh has had more than one conversation with Mahomes about this decision.
  7. Uhhh.... Jimmy Spagnola maybe?????
  8. And in the process he stumbled into the buttocks of Spencer Brown who was innocently waiting in line, thereby causing Brown's lower back injury. Why weren't we notified of this immediately?!?!?!??!!!
  9. Come to think of it, Tommy Doyle and Spencer Brown must be close friends on account of them both being 6'8", playing the same position and being drafted in the same year. Did you or anyone around you ask Doyle how Brown's back was feeling? I'll hang up and listen.
  10. Venn diagrams also really boost one's perceived cleverness.
  11. When Brown walked away was he hunched over as if his lower back was bothering him??????
  12. However if you're gonna place blame on Mayock, the same or even more should be apportioned to his puppet master, one Jon David Gruden.
  13. I believe their new OC is Todd Monken and he doesn't want his QBs wearing the wristbands because he thinks it ######s their understanding of the offense. This is a hugely pivotal year for Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are doing everything they can to get him up to the level of the true superstar QBs.
  14. I have several friends and family members who post here and it's important to me that they know how much smarter I am than them.
  15. Disagree but neither is a HOFer.
  16. At first I thought that one dude's forearm... never mind.
  17. Another solid take. You can be a tough negotiator without offending the other party. That's why the best sports agents are successful because they are negotiating repeatedly within the same small community. They understand that they can't afford to offend people who are essentially their business partners. If Raccuia was offending high-ranking public officials and community leaders, that's not tolerable. I work in construction and project management. Yes you can usually assume overruns especially with stadium projects BUT there's an acceptable level and then there's the point above that where people lose their jobs. Successful people like Pegula don't just shrug off blow budgets.
  18. Different subtopic, in Tim Graham's article on the subject it's clear that Raccuia was surprised by his termination. This implies that he was comfortable in his job... perhaps he felt untouchable... That's what it sounds like to me too.
  19. That's true but last offseason he had lower back surgery and many of us, rightly or not, are still holding our breath about his health...due also to the fact that he's 6'8" and also to the general nature of back pain and injuries.
  20. I'm grateful for what Scott has created and also for the many insightful, knowledgeable, intelligent, and articulate posters here. Being around the percentage of you that fits the above description makes the community worthwhile and even enriching. Here's to you @SDS and to the community!
  21. One day's difference doesn't change the concern much in my eyes. There was also a separate report earlier in the week that after one play, Brown got up very slowly in a manner which suggested his back was the issue. Until he proves otherwise there will be justifiable concern. Absolutely. There's no doubt Beane is doing what he always does (even in his sleep). I think it was after the Poona Ford signing in which Beane was quoted as saying something like "team building is a 365 day a year job." If there are shortcomings in Beane's work, diligence is definitely not one of them. His work ethic is legendary... he turned down a higher-paying job to accept an interrnship with Carolina. He was practically a ball boy when he started his NFL career.
  22. i thought the 100% responsibility of cost overruns by the Bills could be a contributing factor in the firing. The budget is $1.54 billion and they're already looking at 30% over after barely breaking ground? This was a huge concession by the Bills IMO and purely from the team perspective, not a good one. Atop the other reasons this could have been the last straw.
  23. These reports are always appreciated and thanks for posting JJ.
  24. The concern is that injuries will prevent him from reaching his potential as a player and living up to his draft position. Actually without going case to case, I believe the Bills are one of the teams that rush players back less often than the NFL norm. Brandon Shell is a prototypical specimen. His uncle is a Hall of Famer at the same position. He's played 70 games in the NFL and started 61 of those. He's one of the best backup tackles in the NFL.
