  1. Bust? There's a wide variance of meaning with that word. I would call Edmunds a disappointment. That said, there will be teams willing to pay him well. I believe the Bills will let him test the market and might even draft his replacement in April. As for measuring his performance, in Jay Skurski's BN piece on Edmunds yesterday he wrote: "If we define big plays as sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles or recoveries, passes defensed and tackles for loss, Edmunds combined to make just 12 such plays. Seven players on the defense had that many or more." That's pretty damning for a guy who: we traded up for and drafted highly is considered a freak athlete plays a position that generally results in big plays and impressive stats Look at it this way, only 3 of his defensive mates had fewer big plays in 2021.
  2. Don't forget D'Onta Foreman. He would a really nice piece, probably inexpensive and we could use him like Green Bay uses A.J. Dillon. Your oversimplification ignores the full range of reasons why people might be against adding Kareem Hunt. I'm sure there are many here like me who believe that this team is good enough to win a Super Bowl as is and doesn't have to compromise character to attain their goals. There are also those who feel this team can improve by adding excellent and law-abiding players. Having gangsters and thugs on the team is not and never has been a prerequisite to winning championships. Plenty of championships have been won by teams with "pillars of the community" on the roster.
  3. The very worst thing about the end of that game is that McDermott called 2 defensive time outs... one before the 19 yard pass to Tyreek Hill and then the last timeout and the following play before the 25 yard pass to Kelce. These were the two plays which preceded Butker's 49 yard game tying field goal which forced overtime. WTF were they discussing during those time outs???
  4. Yeah... that's what happens when you start playing around with buzz words. 😅 It's like playing with fire sometimes.
  5. It seems like he's asking, if your core competency is a market modifier, what certainables can be brought to force in a meaningful and actionable way? And if the bandwidth exists how can those certainables be employable as a best practice in order to create a center of excellence that incubates further positive outcomes? Brandon asks really good questions here. Both from the helicopter and from a granular perspective he contextualizes the conundrum that happens when one monetizes mission critical processes. These are legitimate real-time and scalable concerns.
  6. Agree, disagree, or indifferent, thanks for doing this.
  7. You're right... I had forgotten that. After some research Milano pulled his hamstring against Houston and missed the KC game.
  8. Wiki: "Neal attended and played college football at Jacksonville State and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. He was a two-time all-Ohio Valley Conference selection in 2016 and 2017, the first year as a linebacker, the second as a safety. In 2016 he made 80 tackles and an interception as a linebacker. Switching to safely in 2017, Neal made 33 tackles and had a team-high 11 pass breakups." BB.com: "Over the last four seasons, Neal has racked up 35 tackles, forced three fumbles and recovered two fumbles on special teams. On defense, the defensive back has totaled 48 tackles, four tackles for loss and one sack since coming to Buffalo." I'm very excited for the future of the Bills and Siran Neal.
  9. Siran Neal is two things: 1) A freakish athlete/diamond in the rough 2) A true football player who likes to get physical and punish people You are correct. When we beat KC in the regular season in October, Neal was instrumental in shutting down Kelce. From BB.com: "Siran Neal was another player who saw increased usage, playing a season-high 33 defensive snaps. He was part of an effort that held All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce to 57 yards on six receptions. Neal's defensive responsibilities came in addition to his typical role on special teams, where he forced a fumble recovered by the Bills during a kickoff in the first quarter. "He comes every week (with a) kind of chip on his shoulder type approach, me against the world, which is what made him who he is," McDermott said. "And I think he did a phenomenal job last night balancing special teams and defense." Mystifyingly the Bills did not use Neal the same way in the OT playoff loss. I believe that Neal will see increased usage on defense in 2022. He is the prototypical big nickel and has been groomed for an increased role.
  10. For those who can't get behind the paywall: 1) Ryan Fitzpatrick QB 2) Marlon Mack RB 3) Braxton Berrios WR 4) Austin Corbett G 5) Emmanuel Ogbah Edge 6) Charvarius Ward CB
  11. If you could provide some links I'd be much obliged. I understand what you're saying but for the sake of discussion, when you have an elite QB as we do, it's never a bad idea to add an elite weapon. Say we had Elijah Moore last year (who I liked more than Kadarius Toney). A player of that impact playing with Josh would result in how many more points? How many more wins? Home field advantage? What else? I like Gregory Rousseau but how many wins was he responsible for? Did he make a difference in the playoff loss to KC? So to me that's the counterargument to what you're saying.
  12. I thought we were piling on... don't you want to pile on?
  13. In fact when teammate Robby Anderson strained his hammy in week 17 some think it's because ECMC slapped his butt on the sidelines. True story.
  14. Christian Kirk. Christian McCaffrey? Christian Kirksey? Grasping for straws... out of my depth...
  15. Good intentions? I guess that depends on who you ask. 😅 He certainly was passionate about his hobby of spelunking.
  16. An accelerant in many different verticals???!!!?! Apparently old Russ hasn't learned from his earlier foibles. I think it was Andy Levitre who got him on the little blue pill and Russ has never been the same. 🤣 Yes, Russ "The world is my sperm bank" Brandon.
  17. You know what they say about guys with big feet,,, Maybe he meant ECMC? (Ouch!) Seriously though, Christian's dad was a superb wide receiver (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McCaEd00.htm) and the kid played at Stanford meaning he's smart. I'm not in favor of the hypothetical trade but I'm pretty sure CMC could transition to WR.
  18. Not sure but I hear the younger members of the Babich family are pretty upset by this hire.
  19. The range of airspeeds varies by species. It's interesting to note that an unladen goose is slower than an unladen swallow but a laden goose is faster than a laden swallow. It's kind of like when Chuck Muncie was slower than John Jefferson and Charlie Joiner in shorts but faster wearing a helmet and shoulder pads.
  20. Now that Bobby Babich will be coaching the linebackers there's a rumor that Baby Babich will be hired to coach the DBs. Father Bob and Grandfather Robert must be so proud right now.
