Our defensive philosophy is dogs*t. Good playoff QBs will continue to carve up our soft zone defense no matter how much money and draft picks we throw at it. Good QBs like mahomes and burrow will get rid of the ball quick enough to make pass rush irrelevant regardless of how much we invest in DL talent, especially when guys are playing 8 yards off the ball behind it. We either need a change in defensive philosophy or just go all in on getting Josh Allen more weapons.

NFL valuation has to come mostly from scarcity. It's not like any Billionaire can start up their own franchise whenever they feel like it. Probably once every generation a team goes up for sale and I don't see any other league expansions happening anytime soon, at least not domestically.

After seeing Ray Davis's performance with the first team last week, hopefully it gave the front office a little nudge towards the side of paying Cook. Clearly there is a dropoff in the running game when he's not out there.

While I think it's silly to project a season based off one preseason game but the whole "we didn't gameplan argument" is also silly. Neither are the other teams we're facing. It should be be a little bit concerning if our guys aren't winning 1v1 matchups in vanilla vs. vanilla gameplay.

It woulda been a lot easier to improve the offense by getting Josh one true elite pass catcher on the outside than rolling the dice on all these defensive positions and hoping they pan out.

If we don't get to the dance in the next 2 years, Beane should bear as much of the blame as McDermott and should get sent packing along with him. He's done a lot of things as GM that deserve a lot of criticism. Kaiir Elam, The Von Miller albatross contract. Giving Stefon Diggs big contract extension and then trading him. Overpaying guys like Dawson Knox. Under valuing receivers and then panic signing a bunch of redundant slot guys when it's clear we don't have enough talent at the position. Signing two defensive guys who are going to be suspended for the first third of the season. There's probably a lot more I'm forgetting.
