I think it is obvious that Kincaid was drafted to be a receiving tight end. I can imagine, however, that there will be occasions where Josh will read that the defense is overplaying the pass when the Bills have Kincaid and know on the field at the same time, especially if Kincaid lines up in the slot a lot. I think there will be times when Josh audibles to a run and Kincaid will need to block.

Agreed. Observers around the league are going to give Rodgers the benefit of the doubt even though he was unimpressive last season at times. He's had a Hall of Fame career, and a fair number of people will assume he can return to his excellence of 2 years ago and earlier when he was a perennial MVP candidate. There's no way to know for certain if he still has "it."

One more negative with Foles is the fact that he is a statue. Dorsey would have to alter the play calling significantly if Foles had to play any length of time.

Seems like a DE/DT tweener - not real fast or bendy as a DE and a bit small for a DT. Seems like a fringe guy.

I agree, Buffalo is not likely to get as much hype, before the season at least. There will probably be those who pick the Jets to win the AFC East with Aaron Rodgers as QB and some old pal receivers signed as free agents. The Jets could be much tougher this season. Buffalo may be gaining the image around the league of a team that is good in the regular season but lacks the toughness to go all the way in the playoffs. The onus is on the Bills to prove differently.

I think Beane will at least explore the possibility of trading one of the veterans they don't think will start. Boettger or Edwards come to mind. That would depend in part on how Spencer Brown develops in the current off season and whether or not Tommy Doyle is fully healthy and can develop into a reliable swing tackle in reserve.

Ford is a primarily a nose tackle and Oliver is a three technique, so signing Ford does not make Oliver available for trade. Maybe the Bills would part with Tim Settle in a trade, but Settle's disappointing 2022 season didn't do wonders for his trade value. The key question the Bills would have to answer is why Queen was disappointing last season. Would he perform that much better in McDermott's scheme?

Possible? Of course. Probable? I don't think so. It would mean the coaches completely lose confidence in Knox as a receiver early on in the season and Dorsey has to be inclined to incorporate tight end as a far more integral part of the offense than he did last season. It's likely that pass receptions by tight ends will increase quite a bit because of Kincaid, but I don't think that the Bills thought poorly of Knox in the past. I think they still like Knox. I think the modest contribution by Knox compared with some lofty expectations of Kincaid, have more to do with Dorsey's philosophy than any opinion in the organization about Knox. So it's Dorsey's philosophy that has to change for Kincaid to reach lofty levels.

I'm fine with what the Bills did. Now they just need to be intentional about incorporating Kincaid into the offense, and likely using two tight ends for a significant portion of offensive plays, if not most of them. Two tight ends won't necessarily be a running formation for them though.

Anderson is still under contract to the Bills. Sometimes these fringe guys hang around for a few years. If they develop, then they may contribute in the future, if not, they eventually get replaced by other fringe guys who might develop. I think it's an aspect of roster management that every GM has to work on. Most guys on the fringe never develop, but if you don't work at finding these guys, you never have a chances of hitting on a guy that can help your team. The Bills have gotten a decent return out of Ryan Bates, who started out as a fringe player. Levi Wallace was another one. The odds are low that this kind of player will ever be a core player on the team, but they do make important contributions.

Buffalo carried four RBs on the team at the start of last season: Singletary, Cook, Hines and Taiwan Jones. Granted Jones was really a special teams specialist, but RB was his listed position. Some of these guys will need to play special teams in order for the team to carry all four, but Murry is real good insurance for Harris. Though Murray is 33, he's been very durable, and despite the fact that he's a big boy with power, he also has some wheels.

I'm guessing any signing bonus would be minimal, so if he ends up getting cut, the dead cap issue won't be a problem.

At 6'5" and 250 lbs, Kelce is bigger than Kincaid. While Kincaid is said to be a physical guy who excels in running after the catch, Kelce is still going to have more power given the size difference. That does not mean that he can't be an explosive receiving tight end and have s similar role to Kelce. No guarantee he will be either. We can hope.

Everyone who rates the drafts of NFL teams is going to come up with ratings that are different from anybody else. I saw one rating that had Pittsburgh and Philadelphia at the top and other that said Houston had the best draft. I think there are plenty of questions about the Bills' draft. Will the Bills utilize Kincaid enough too justify using a first for him? Will the Bills alter their blocking scheme to fit the skill set of Torrence or can Torrence be a pleasant surprise if Buffalo tries doing some zone blocking? How can Dorian Williams make a contribution other than a major injury to Matt Milano? Can any of the bottom three picks not only make the team but get reps at the position for which they have a label? It's probably a given that Shorter is going to play special teams. I'm sure the Bills hope he can be outstanding in that role, but if he's going to have a more complete career, he's got to get on the field as a receiver and catch some passes. My guess is Broeker is a practice squad guy at best this season. That's not really shocking for a seventh round pick. He's the draft pick with the least likelihood of making a contribution. As with any NFL team, if the best case scenario for each draftee works out, then this is a terrific draft. So, we'll see.

He's actually a little faster and heavier than Bernard. Still pretty small. The scouting reports of both of them suggested they need to develop the mental aspect of their game.

Overall good size for a tackle, but slow and shorter than average arms. Looks very much like camp fodder.

I think his contract expired and the Bills have shown no movement toward trying to re-sign him. He's getting long in the tooth to be running down the field at top speed and crashing in to people.

As some pundits observe, he'll need to be protected a bit more than Edmunds needed because of his size. He's smaller and won't present that big obstacle in the middle of the field QBs had to throw over in Edmunds. The plus side of it is he's faster than Edmunds and instinctive where Edmunds sometimes had difficulty. I'm not writing off Bernard or Dodson in the competition. I think Specter's ceiling is a backup role and special teams. Williams might also have value in a big nickel role is Buffalo wanted to play him that way.

Mt guess is that Torrence and McGovern will start at guard. Morris will remain at center. Boettger and Edwards will compete to backup at guard while Bates backs up Morris. The Bills will try to trade the loser of the Boettger/Edwards competition for a late round pick in 2024.

I doubt many would have expected him to be available at this point in the draft. Presumably, this is a great value pick. I can't count the number of mock drafts that projected Torrence to Buffalo at #27. I have no problem at all getting him late in the second. BTW, http://www.drafttek.com does an ongoing mock of the rest of the draft using computer simulation. They now have Buffalo picking Drew Sanders in the third round. That would be sweet.
