  1. The main issue will be players getting to the facility. Hopefully the organization has the arrangements in place for emergency transportation in case of travel bans.
  2. I don't know that I would call it the best possible move. My label would be the "safest" possible move because of his familiarity with the Bills and the Bills' long snapper both as a punter and a holder on field goal attempts.
  3. This is a different KC team this year. Toward the end of the season KC's young receivers showed improvement, especially Rasheed Rice, but they still don't measure up to what KC has had in the past. The Bills are 1-0 against this year's version of the Chiefs. The fact that it is a home game compensates in part for the improvement of KC's WRs. In any case, it's going to be a tough game especially with the short week combined with the injuries from the Sleelers game
  4. I'd like to see a link as corroboration for this. Generally, contracts normally expire March first, so even if Bojorquez has played his final game for Cleveland, the Bills would not be able to sign him until well after the Super Bowl. Before I believe anything differently, someone would have to show me why and how Bojorquez would be available. On the other hand Araiza would be a quick easy fix. The question would be, has Araiza done anything to address his shortcomings as a punter. Hang time has been an issue for Araiza. He's got great distance on his punts, but sometimes the altitude is not very good. It's also said that in college, he gave no consideration to pinning opponents inside the 20 on shorter punts where that was a possibility. I would hope that he's been working on those things since the sexual misconduct allegations torpedoed his start in the league.
  5. Elam has some gifts, but he is frustratingly slow at addressing his shortcomings in technique. I think the jury is still out about whether or not he has a viable future long term in Buffalo. The interception, while it really helped the Bills at the time, doesn't change the murkiness of his future.
  6. I don't think that Josh Allen in any way shape or form deliberately faked a slide. At that point, I think things are happening too quickly to think about something like that. I do think it's possible Josh thought about sliding and then changed his mind, There's really know way to tell unless Josh volunteers and says what was going through his mind when he hesitated on that run. The league cannot penalize players for thinking. So, Zero, are you acting out your resentment that your Chiefs aren't getting to play a home game against Houston Next weekend?
  7. This is not a bad thing for Miami. Tua is a solid productive QB. Miami's problem is Josh Allen is a unicorn and he plays in Buffalo. Nobody Miami could ever acquire is going to be able to put the team on his shoulders in crunch time the way Josh Allen can.
  8. "Done" seems to have different meaning for different people. It looks to me as if Diggs can be a productive receiver for at least a few years yet. I think perhaps the question should be, is Diggs done as a #1 receiver who reliably shows big play ability? On that issue, I'm not so sure. Some have said, that without a potent #2 threat, teams are rolling coverage toward Diggs and he's not getting the downfield opportunities because of coverage. I'm not so sophisticated in my football knowledge that recognizing coverage is easy for me. I really have to focus on one aspect at a time, and that takes away the enjoyment of watching the whole. I think Buffalo could really stand to have a potent go to #2 receiver. That would go a long way toward showing us what Diggs has left.
  9. From any camera angle available to the TV audience there was no evidence the ball hit the helmet of Freiermuth, but no proof it didn't. It seemed to be one of those cases where if the official had ruled it a fumble recovered by Buffalo, it would have stood in the replay, but there was no clear and obvious evidence to overturn the call they made. On another subject, I think Pittsburgh was a good team for the Bills to be forced to play Klein. He's smart, a sound tackler and good against the run. It's a tougher matchup trying to play him against KC. Bernard's skill set would seem to be a far better match for KC's offense.
  10. Miami is going to continue being a challenge to Buffalo for the AFC East crown. They struggled down the stretch, but McDaniel and their GM know that and will be looking for ways to enable the Dolphins to finish out the season. Buffalo had issues of their own this season. They finished strong, record wise, but the offense for the most part hadn't really been clicking through about the last half to two thirds of the season. Beane and McDermott understand that and, like Miami will be looking for ways to address the problems they had. Whichever team is more successful is the one that will win more AFC East crowns in the future, unless, of course the Jets figure out how to right their completely swamped ship of New England can quickly rebuild their franchise.
  11. KC is less formidable than they've been since Mahomes' second year in the league. I'm not afraid of them.
  12. What I'm saying is if the lake effect was a one day event, as it was this weekend, the scheduling the game for Saturday with the option of moving to Sunday in the event of extreme weather, then you can get the game in whichever day is affected by weather without having to move the game to Monday. Does that clear things up now?
  13. If the game were scheduled Saturday, they could have played on Saturday, and nothing would have been affected by weather. At least this time around, the lake effect snow event in Orchard Park seems to be a one day affair. If the lake effect snow had come today, then there might have been a chance for Buffalo to play tomorrow and still get a normal week in between games. Granted, some lake effect events can be multi-day storms, but at least it would reduce the chances of saddling the Bills or their opponent with a disadvantage the following week.
  14. As far as the way the Bills could be affected in the divisional round is concerned, I'd almost rather the game was moved to Atlanta rather than postponed 27 hours.
  15. It will be colder with less wind, though it's still going to be windy. The wind will be out of the southwest so any lake effect should be well north of Orchard Park, maybe even north of Buffalo.
  16. The league could have shown a little foresight. Buffalo is the NFL City most likely to have weather that could force the postponement or relocation of a game. Knowing that, the league could have scheduled Buffalo-Pittsburgh on a Saturday. That way, if weather forced a postponement, they could still have played on a Sunday.
  17. The one thing I don't like about the decision is the short week it will give the Bills to prep for the division round assuming they beat Pittsburgh. Buffalo's potential opponents next weekend all play today. The fact that Buffalo's opponent next weekend will have played their wild card weekend game today (Saturday) makes it even worse.
  18. I haven't followed the thread, so this might have been mentioned, but weather modeling as we approach the game Sunday has trended toward the worst case scenario as far as the weather is concerned. Models show a persistent band of heavy lake effect snow over Orchard Park to go with high winds and cold temperatures. It's going to be miserable for fans, not to mention dangerous driving. If you don't dress for it, you're at risk for frost bite and hypothermia. For players, add the issues of footing and the challenge of throwing and catching a hard, slippery ball that will be affected greatly by the wind. The Bills need to be sure they have the right footwear and receivers had better have the right gloves. Running the ball and stopping the run will be critical.
  19. "mutually agreed?" What really happened? Robert Kraft said to Belichick, "We won't use the word 'fired' and you can go quietly, or we can do it the other way. It's up to you." Belichick to Kraft, "(mutter, mutter, mutter) I suppose so."
  20. The wind is pretty much a given as far as Sunday's game is concerned. So are temperatures and bitter wind chills. Lake effect snow is a more complicated issue. It depends on a number of factors including wind direction and air temperatures aloft as well as at the surface. The forecast I've seen calls for west southwest winds on Sunday. I think that is a wind direction that could cause some lake effect, but lake effect bands are fickle. Sometimes, lake effect bands can be only a few miles wide and meander. I fully expect that there will be some lake effect snow on Sunday. I don't think the experts have pinpointed how much snow or whether the snow will be steady or intermittent.
  21. I can't see McDermott hiring a defensive coordinator whose philosophy and scheme on defense is so different from his own. I think McDermott believes strongly in his defensive philosophy and scheme.
  22. Who would you like to see Buffalo face in the division round of the playoffs (January 13-14)? The possibilities are Kansas City, Houston, or Cleveland. Miami is the #6 seed and would automatically meet top seed Baltimore should they win their Wild Card weekend game. Personally, I'd like to see Buffalo face KC. This is a team that Buffalo knows very well. KC's offense is having a sub par year. They have a tough defense. Chis Jones in particular is a terror, but Buffalo has faced monsters in the middle of opposing defensive lines all season. QBs with whom Buffalo is unfamiliar have tended to give Buffalo trouble. Joe Flacco has been around the block a few times, but the current Bills players and coaching staff has not faced him. CJ Stroud is really good rookie. Call me crazy, but I'd rather face Pat Mahomes with a depleted group of receivers because I know Buffalo can take him.
  23. Morris was playing injured. Torrence had some bad plays. Miami blitzed a lot. Brady and Josh need to have preparations ready for heavy blitzing teams, whether is screen plays, hot reads or whatever.
  24. This makes some sense to me. Adding another game does not. I think the league is pushing the practical limit of the physical pounding that teams can take with a 17 game season and then four more games culminating in the Super Bowl. The game at the end of the season starts to become less a matter of skill sets, game planning and execution and more a matter of luck at who can stay the healthiest. That's not what I want at least.
  25. Buffalo has the longest active win streak in the league right now.
