  1. The first couple weeks of the season are usually a bit sloppy and players are still building chemisty and rookies are still acclimating. In October, every team still has a chance of making the playoffs, and players are still relatively healthy and fatigue hasn't set in. 17+ games takes a toll on players and I'm hoping they eventually add a second bye week because it would increase the level of play.
  2. I feel we may be at an awkard spot at #27 if there is a run on offensive tackles. I think Beane will try his best to trade down for more picks and then move up the draft board to get his guy. OT and ILB are the obvious holes, but TE are DT also need to be addressed. It seems like Beane makes more draft day trades than any other GM.
  3. It's weird that he had such a bad vertical jump at the combine, yet his highlights are full of him hurdling guys. This is why timing your jump is more important than how high you can jump.
  4. He also had offseason back surgery that seemed to limit his ability to bend.
  5. He would be a great addition, but I don't like the philosophy of going "all-in" and giving away long term assets for an expensive veteran. At least getting Von Miller didn't cost us a draft pick. Instead of worrying that our "Superbowl window" is closing, we should draft and develop young talent so that we can have sustainable success.
  6. The only lb I would take in the first two rounds is Jack Campbell. I think we can get a guy like Daiyon Henley or Dorian Williams in the later rounds. I think Klein is just a placeholder until the draft.
  7. You also have to bear in mind that we probably won't run 11 personel very often so we might get more value out of a solid RT than a high end #2 TE
  8. I disagree with 3 TE being a possibility at #27. #2 TE is a need, but OL and LB should be addressed first. There is a ton of depth at TE in this draft, so we should get the best OT while there are some left and wait until the 3rd for a guy like Tucker Kraft or Luke Schoonmaker.
  9. I would like to take the best remaining OT (if there are any left) at #27 and wait until the 2nd or 3rd to take a TE since there is so much depth at the position. DT is a sneaky need for the future considering we don't have any under contract for 2024.
  10. I'd take instincts and production over pure athleticism for a safety. These guys panned out just fine:
  11. I really thought that Calvin Ridley's suspension would have sent players a message, but I guess not. I wonder if the released players will join an XFL or USFL team.
  12. I would love to trade down if our guy isn't there at #27, but it's not always possible to get a deal done with good return value. If all the good Offensive tackles are gone, then I'd rather trade down instead of reaching for a guy like Trenton Simpson or Josh Downs. This draft has great depth of TE and we have struggled to find a #2 TE in free agency during Beane's tenure.
  13. Josh Allen should only be upset if we neglect to address the offensive line in the draft If the coaching staff wants Allen to drop back in the pocket and go through his reads instead of scrambling, he can't have a defender in his face immediately. The o-line was our weakest positional group last season and it's holding the offense back.
  14. I wouldn't hate the Drew Sanders pick as long as they let him blitz frequently. Otherwise it's a waste of his talent and I'd rather have Jack Campbell or Daiyon Henley who are better in coverage.
  15. I don't think it's worth it to spend another high draft pick on a rb after using two 3rd rounders and a 2nd at the position over the last few years. I'd rather invest in the o-line to help the rb's we already have and protect Josh.
  16. The official Dolphins website says nothing about this.
  17. Most of the 1st round guys (after Quentin Johnston) are shorter, but there are some good receivers with height like Cedric Tillman, Michael Wilson, A.T. Perry, and Jonathan Mingo who could be available in rounds 3-5.
  18. I feel like this is just part of some Beane smokescreen to make it seem like we're still interested in adding a rb and might draft Bijan Robinson. He keeps saying that Edmunds' replacement is on the roster and we haven't signed anyone new at LB, so that screams that we'll take a linebacker in the 1st or 2nd.
  19. There's really no such thing as a "can't miss" prospect due to other issues like the player not fitting the scheme of his new team or injuries. However, I think these guys will pan out: Bijan Robinson Will Anderson Jr Jalen Carter (IF off-field issues don't continue) Michael Mayer (The most complete TE in the draft)
  20. Every statement a gm makes right now is designed to be misleading. Beane is too smart to give away any info on his draft targets.
  21. I like Tank Dell in the 3rd, but that's it. After re-signing Poyer and signing Rapp, (and drafting Elam and Benford) we are NOT taking a cb in the 1st and 3 db's total. We are absolutely not taking a power rb in the 2nd after signing Damien Harris and drafting Cook last year. I believe we will draft an offensive lineman, linebacker, and tight end in the first three rounds, but the order will depend on the BPA.
  22. The fact that they played a spread offense scares me little in the aftermath of the Cody Ford debacle. I think he will be a better guard than tackle in the NFL. Personally, I'd prefer Dawand Jones who's a huge tackle in the mold of Orlando Brown Jr. Spencer Brown was a turnstile last season and needs to be replaced.
  23. Drew Sanders isn't a good scheme fit for us (reminds me of Troy Anderson who the Falcons drafted last year) If he's the best available LB at #27, I'd rather take the best offensive lineman available.
  24. This draft is the perfect opportunity to finally address TE #2. Having two tight ends that can block and get open would give us a deadly play action game.
