  1. They burned down the gambling house It died with an awful sound Uh, Funky Claude was running in and out Pulling kids on the ground When it all was over We had to find another place But Swiss time was running out It seemed that we would lose the race Smoke on the water A fire in the sky Smoke on the water
  2. 3. Agree on all accounts, except on Feliciano. KC beat Morse/ Feliciano and Williams like a drum. I was apoplectic when we traded Teller. Friends laughed, now he is borderline All-Pro. Not sure what other people watch. As for IOL and the draft. Not sure why Buffalo passed on Davis (OG) 3x and Humphrey (C) 2x. Buffalo could have had Rosseau (DE), Humphrey (C) and Davis (OG). That would have been a 'big guy' draft steal in a weak draft. Will Basham knock Obada from the roster? Would have rather had Humphrey or Davis knock off a weak OL to protect the franchise and keep Rosseau/Obada/Epenesa as young DE. Buffalo will lose one of those DE and be an OL weaker for it. Beane does a lot right, but his OL/DL moves are bad. The best OL/DL move since McBeane was McDermott drafting and starting Dawkins at LT.
  4. Easy Augie. I was mostly agreeing with you. The OL and run blocking scheme is the biggest hurdle the Offense has. IOL should have been a higher draft priority. Do we not agree? Bills passed on Wyatt Davis (OG) 2x, Creed Humphrey (C) 2x and Ben Cleveland (OG) x3. All safe bets to be NFL starters for a decade. KC and Baltimore loved our picks and got richer for them. I'm not convinced blocking has been figured out, and they may have passed on some very good OL this draft because of it. Around week 5 Buffalo went from Power/Man to Zone blocking. It definitely helped Moss. Spain was cut..... I was right about Moss here are the game logs: Considering Weeks 1-5 as power blocking (TN game) vs zone blocking (KC and after) Moss: Week 1-5 C YDS AVG TD 17 48 2.8 0 Week 6-16 95 433 4.6 4 Clearly better, eyes don't lie Augie. Almost double the AVG Per Carry. That is what I saw and the stats prove it. 4.6 > 2.8 and yes I SAW it. Was easy to see. I was wrong about Singletary though. Singletary: Week 1-5 C YDS AVG TD 61 238 3.9 1 Week 6-16 95 449 4.7 1 4.7 > 3.9. Clearly zone blocking helped. The move to zone blocking helped both backs. The move seems justified even though Buffalo lost a good OG (Spain) This created a balanced time share between Moss and Singletary. 1:4 vs 1:1 Moss was rated as one of the best blocking RBs in the NFL by multiple sources. In a passing scheme you go with the better blocker who has a similar YPC. Breida is a home run threat in a zone scheme. Moss is proving to be a blocking beast with a better nose for the end zone. Singletary is still the odd man out, and IOL should have been addressed. Hoping for Lamp to look good at LG. I would feel better with Humphrey as OC2, and Davis or Cleveland at OG. But what do I know? I thought Teller was a beast here.
  5. I'm disappointed with Edmunds. 16th pick folks. Other than one goal line tackle name a game changing play. Any in three years? Tackles for a loss? He had 4 last year. 4. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/E/EdmuTr01.htm 0 forced fumbles, 0 fumbles recovered, 0 interceptions (supposed to be great in pass coverage), 2 sacks. The QB Rating against him was 114.3. Josh Allen's QB rating was 107.2, and he got MVP consideration. Any bum QB in the league can go mid-field against Edmunds and look like an All-Pro. Missed tackles? Plenty. 9.2% is his best year. 1/3 of his tackles are assists. What a stud my favorite Edmunds 'Highlight' Look at @2:28 below He needs to do better
  6. Hey Hap, I think Singletary is not a good zone runner. The Bills went mostly to zone blocking around game 6. This hurt Spain and Singletary but helped Morse, Moss, D. Williams and the backup OGs. It was a calculated risk. Notice Spain got shipped off because he was not happy about the change, and Singletary struggled. Moss excelled and the pass protect held up. Prior to the change to zone blocking Moss was averaging 1.8 YPC. The thing is he was the best pass blocking back on the roster, so Buffalo needed to find a way to get him in the game and be effective as a runner and blocker IMO. The one RB the Bills brought in is Breida who is a one cut zone runner. He will do well if the Bills keep a zone scheme. I am disappointed the Bills passed on Wyatt Davis and Creed Humphrey multiple times.... I hope Gregory and Basham work out. I am hopeful for Lamp. I think he is a day 1 starter, he is a solid zone blocker. IOL was a clear need and I feel like they keep botching the OL. (trade Teller, cut Spain, keep Ford, pass on Davis and Humphrey, draft Brown and Doyle) Beane is good at a lot of things, but management of OL and DL is questionable at best. Hey Augie, The eye does not lie. Singletary struggled in a zone scheme. Moss excelled. Breida is a one cut zone runner. It is a good fit. Still needed a piece or two IOL though and Buffalo chose two project OTs...
  7. Not by passing on Creed Humphrey for Boogie Basham. I'm still angry about that. Worse yet he went to KC.... Then doubling down on two project OT? IOL needed help more. This is one of my favorite topics in this offseason. I went back and watched a load of games from last year. For the regular season the O-Line was really terrific in most games and most combos in pass protection. Some games like against New England the run game looked really good. I'm not sold on Singletary or Moss, but they got chunk plays vs New England and in other games. I'm not sure why people are down on Mongo on this board. Against playoff competition most of our line looked bad. Williams, Morse and Feliciano got beat. Rewatch KC2 from last year, it's not just Mongo. I wanted Buffalo to go heavy on IOL and many opportunities presented themselves, but Buffalo went DE, DE, OT, OT.... The early season switch to zone blocking hurt the run game and alienated Spain, and he was gone. Not sure that was a great idea. All of that said I think the starting line up looks like Dawkins/ Lamp/ Morse/ Feliciano/ Williams. Backups Bates/ Boettger/ Brown and ?. Lamp is my dark horse Buffalo Bill this year. I think he takes a starting OG spot and does not give it up. I am no Cody Ford fan he is a stiff and can't stay healthy. Anderson is a wild card. He could be another Teller. Late round G with nasty who develops an NFL game in 1-2 years, that is the hope. Will be interesting, but I have a hard time thinking 2 rookie OL will make the 53.
  8. It was a terrible pick, and I love it. Maybe he and Zay Jones can try to find teams with 'real QBs'. Clearly that is the issue with both. 😄
  9. I didn't read it that way. I saw it as the Dolphins drafted Tua to be a franchise QB and have had a lot more draft capital to surround him with an elite supporting unit. That statement is true. A lot of high draft picks filling slots on rookie contracts allows splashes in free agency too. With the amount of 1st and 2nd round picks they have had and still have, Tua only has to be Carr or Cousins to be competitive. I can see Tua landing in that range easily. This was a solid pro Buffalo piece and they actually considered each team and where they were. NYJ - Saleh should be a solid coach and they have drafted well, Miami has an excellent coach and teams seem to love giving them high draft picks for not much in return. Pats - until the wooden stake is really driven home, no one will discount them. Everyone called Buffalo to repeat, and then noted who the next threat could be. The only real dig I saw was about Bills fans writing a young QB off in year one. Minor snark, but he has a point. Tua, Wilson and Jones are basically unknowns. The Dolphins and Pats have solid cores, good coaching and unknown at QB. The Jets still have to prove they aren't the Jets.
  10. Was at a Slayer show on their Farewell Tour. They kept adding shows which I think was cool.
  11. I can see clearly now the rain is gone I can see all obstacles in my way Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind It's gonna be a bright (bright) Bright (bright) sunshiny day It's gonna be a bright (bright) Bright (bright) sunshiny day
  12. Agree with OP. Wendy's quality is sinking fast. Small patties, skinny soggy fries. Used to be my fast food 'go to'. That now is Five Guys or DQ. DQ burgers are underrated. The flamethrower is a solid burger and their fries are good, can sub for onion rings too.
  13. Thanks! happy more and more AFL and old NFL clips are being found and posted.
  14. This team and the 1990 team are my favorite. So much potential, knew we were in for a ride. This game did more to help Buffalo than hurt it. It made Marv retool the offensive approach.
  15. Yep and if you look at the list they have some far fetched ideas on it. Not the best summer doldrums article I've read.
  16. I see what you did there. 🤓 Will Ertz or Godot arrive first? Until then we are waiting. To bad Lucky is not here to dance for us.
  17. @Hapless Bills Fan Zimmer had 275 defensive snaps or 25.68% of all defensive snaps last year. I don't have the breakdown of 1T or 3T, At 6'3" and 292 or so is kind of small for 1T DT though. Zimmer had a solid snap count in week 1, but was not active weeks 2,3,4,5. From week 6 on he saw 20-45% of defensive snaps, and continued as a rotational piece in the playoffs (29, 37, 20%) He also had light work on ST Edit: saw the follow up conversations about 3T guys covering for 1T and now they roll back to 3T. Still think Butler is best served at 1T.
  18. fair point, but it is 325 or more that is noted. Over 5 years you are looking at 65 catches a year, pretty good production. If it is opened up to 300+ over 5 years I wonder who else might be included? Impressive to average 65+ for 5 years and have no fumbles.
  19. This is not a good place for the Cox clan. Joking aside, I hate seeing injuries like this.
  20. Bad draft this year for 1T DT. Will probably be a priority next year. I'm guessing a CB, S, IOL or LS are brought in for the last 2 spots?
  21. Agree on Morse. He is a solid center, helped stabilize the position. I'm worried about his long term well being. I really thought Creed Humphrey was going to be the pick in the 2nd. It made me physically ill when I saw KC take him a few picks later. He will be snapping and calling protections for Mahomes for a decade. I hope Boogie works out. If Lamp, Boettger or Anderson can work out, that gives some flexibility for Feliciano (also getting offseason dirt thrown on him) to move to Center if needed. Progress looks good though. No more need for 6-7 rd picks or UFA to be stars. Nice if it happens. Earlier round guys need to step up to take the next step though. But as a Bills fan I always look for gold there What do you think of Tariq Thompson the Safety?
  22. I was going to mention your post. We are thinking along the same lines. I think Jack Anderson may make the PS out of need and has some tools. Lamp has some injury history, but so did Morse and Williams. I'll give Beane credit for taking some chances. I would be really thrilled if Lamp or Anderson surprise this year. Is a guy who made a Pro Bowl and is considered the best or top 3 Slot WR a dark horse? I love Cole Beasley for many reasons. Don't consider him a 'Dark Horse'. He is more essential IMO. I am shocked and disappointed in the amount of vitriol thrown on the guy for speaking out about the COVID vaccine stance the NFLPA took. I'm not sure everyone who weighed in took the time to research the limitations the NFLPA agreed to. Limitations on marketing and personal brand management are included, along with treatments like sauna access. That means no more local/ regional commercials.... seems unfair. The guy played for our team with a broken leg in the playoffs for heavens sake. I agree, Cole is very important, but not a Dark Horse IMO.
  23. Well to the Chargers credit they did draft Justin Herbert, NFL rookie of the year. However the the other LA team, the Rams, are also in sunny LA. They are loaded with weapons and in win now mode. They went with Goff and now pivoted to another veteran QB with Stafford. My guess is the LA Rams. I generally enjoy Colin Cowherd, but he does have a segment called 'What Colin got right, What Colin got wrong' Chicago and Denver make sense, but I'll stick with my guess.
